TBL Australia 4×49: Red vs Blue Weigh-in Three. Can Red make it three in a row?
Previously on The Biggest Loser… PIIIIIGS. IIIIIN. MUUUUUUUUUD!
Yes, Friday night saw yet another gigantic mud wallow being prepared for the contestants to roll around in. The final race came down to Sean and Andrew…
… and we don’t get to find out until tonight!
Also tonight will be the weigh-in. Can Red lose another on the trot or will Blue finally succeed at failing, which may be easier now they don’t have Bob.
And how have Bob and Nathan been doing on the Island with Commando Steve?
We’re also going to get a catchup with Amanda, Stewart, Jeda and Jodi. Oh joy, oh rapture…
And we’re two minutes in and we’re still in footage we’ve already seen, between “previously on…” and just outright replaying part of Friday’s episode.
Andrew and Sean turn around the banner at the end of the first leg at exactly the same time.
Teresa’s back at the start flailing around like a mental, still!
Sean’s just pulled ahead after going under the cargo net and manages to pull away from Andrew and grab the flag first. And he says it felt really good to win!
Tiffany says Blue is on a winning streak and it feels fantastic.
Sammy thinks it’ll be hard to tell Michelle they’ve lost something else, but they’re going in with positive thoughts, they’re going to win the weigh-in!
Meaghan notices at the end of the challenge that her Mum was still all shiny and clean. Best fix that! Her and Teresa drag her into the mud pit.
Shortly thereafter Cameron takes another big dive into the mudpit and splashes everyone.
Shannan rocks up to Fat Camp to find out how the Challenge went and Cam can’t hide his grin. “He doesn’t know about poker face yet!” – Shannan
And for Last Chance Training today, Shannan’s taking his people to “his house”. His favourite place to train.
The tanning salon?
Red need to train “like demons”.
They’re running around with an exercise ball trying to grab it off each other and so on.
Sammy runs at Meaghan at one point with the ball in front of her and totally flattens Meaghan.
Sammy also tells us that Last Chance never gets easier, it gets harder and Michelle enjoys it more every time!
Sharif’s a dream to train, Michelle says. He does whatever he’s told with courage and guts and that’s all you can ask for.
Sharif had told Michelle that he was too embarassed to hold his wife’s hand. She’s 55kg, size 8-10. He was more than 3 times her weight. And people just don’t understand that fat people live with that sort of shame and embarassment.
Sharif would be holding his wife’s hand while walking in public and he’ll find excuses to point at things, so he wouldn’t have to hold her hand anymore, because he felt embarassed for her.
Dude, it’s not because you’re fat, it’s because you’re a man! Holding hands is for GIRLS.
Jodi and Jeda, day one… They were fat!
Two months on… they’re still fat!
Jeda definitely looks the better of the two, she just looks very “curvy” now.
Jodi is still outright fat. But she thinks she’s preeeetty.
Jeda was an 18-20 and is now a 14-16.
We don’t find out Jodi’s sizes. But they say they’re going to be “yummy mummies” at the finale!
Shannan’s “house” is a boxing gym. Paul Anderson, Shannan’s trainer, is there to train his people today.
Paul doesn’t talk a lot but he commands respect from those he trains because he knows what he’s talking about.
Boxing is about more than just stepping in the ring and throwing punches. Boxing is a complete workout. You have to be strong, brave and you have to endure.
While Shannan’s talking to us he’s also in the ring getting through a session with Paul. Shannan’s pretty quick on his feet and has some nasty punches in him!
Teresa gets in the ring first and makes really scary faces.
Tiffany looks like she’s pushing out another baby when it’s her turn.
Shannan says Cameron’s new attitude is evident to everyone. He’s bristling with enthusiasm!
Shannan’s got Cameron punching a heavy bag. A red heavy bag. That he says is the Red Team!
Cam wants to be the secret weapon of the Blue team, prove the Red Team wrong.
Cam can see how he wants to be when he gets back now. He wants to be someone people look up to.
Shannan says Cam used to detest training, he’d find excuses for everything. But he’s doing very well today.
He still looks completely buggered after training, but he’s no longer in tears and complaining like he used to. He’s out of breath and Shannan says the new Cam is unbreakable. “You’re still bloody smiling!”
Cam says Sammy would be happy with her old man today. He put in 100%.
Amanda and Stewart, day one… they were fat!
Today… Amanda’s still fat. Stewart’s actually looking pretty damn good. The trousers he’s wearing he bought 3 weeks ago and they’re already baggy on him.
Amanda used to only fit into a 26, she bought some capri pants the other day that were size 18.
She doesn’t say she actually fits into them though!
Amanda says the couple that appears at the finale will be very, very happy with themselves.
Meanwhile, back on Lost: Old Bull/Young Bull Edition… it’s weigh-in night!
No fancy tv screens out in the bush, just a fancy digital scale. Like they actually use on the show to weigh people, though we don’t see it.
Bob’s first.
Bob’s weight: 113.9kg
Loss: 1kg
Wow. Disappointment is all over Bob’s face. He has no idea what happened. Different environment, new food. Have to tighten it up for next week!
Doesn’t bode well for Nathan. He’s next. Well, there’s only two people to weigh-in so that was kind of a given.
Nathan’s weight: 109.2kg
Loss: 0.1kg
No, that’s not a typo. He lost a measly 100 grams.
Nathan’s very disappointed, too. He says he’ll work harder next week. Because he doesn’t want to lose 100 grams ever again!
Bob’s the biggest loser again! Though he says he’s not exactly proud of it this time.
It’s likely these losses are as a result of gaining muscle through the week due to the Commando’s training techniques. Hopefully the numbers will improve from here.
Meanwhile, back at Fat Camp, it’s their weigh-in time too. How clever of them to put them on at almost the same time!
Red is reminded they need to win the weigh-in, since they’ve lost 2 weigh-ins and three challenges in a row!
And who will Blue be choosing to sit out of the weigh-in?
Julie! Of course.
Julie says she’s had a good week but her weightloss isn’t as consistent as everyone else’s.
First team today will be… Red!
First Redhead. Sammy.
“What? Mmm-mmm. Meaghan? Was that Meaghan? I hate going first!” – The Funny Fat Girl
Sam’s weight: 89.1kg
Loss: 2.7kg
80s club! She’s quite happy with that loss.
Sammy started at 118kg and is now in the 80s. Her man has never seen her at under 112kg. Her man thinks she’s beautiful anyway, but she never felt that way before.
Oh. Ajay’s dress. It’s a really, really deep blue. With shiiiiiiiiiny bits hiding in amongst some frilly stuff around the bust. Pretty!
Meaghan’s turn.
Meaghan’s weight: 81.9kg
Loss: 2.9kg
Meaghan’s now the lightest female there. She’s never been the lightest before. And she’s also no longer obese, which is great!
Ajay asks what the best thing about returning to her regular life? Meaghan says she might actually live her life now, instead of hiding away from things. She’ll mix with her friends and feel comfortable, because they’re all stick-thin. She doesn’t think she’ll ever get that thin but she’ll fit in and feel more natural.
Meaghan tells us the more weight she loses the more confidence she gets. Hopefully by the time she reaches her goal weight she won’t feel horrible anymore and will like what she sees.
I already like!
Andrew’s third for Red.
He doesn’t have the motivation from Nathan anymore, so it’s all on him.
Andrew’s weight: 107kg
Loss: 3.4kg
Under 110kg. Andrew figures he was about 13 years old the last time he weighed that little.
Before coming on the show Andrew had given himself 5 years. He’d accepted it would take 5 years for him to have a heart attack and die.
He tells us he had a five year plan, but now he’s getting healthier he’s got many more years with them. He doesn’t have to spend time with the family waiting to give up, he can enjoy his time with them.
Sharif is the last member of Red Team to weigh-in. Even though he has immunity he’s hoping for a good result so his team don’t face weigh-in.
He says his leg is shaking, but I expect not so much as that god awful stomach he has now. He’s really got to start wearing a shirt if he stays in much longer.
Sharif’s weight: 132.9kg
Loss: 4.7kg
That takes him over 45kg lost, which is over 25% of his body weight. 25% is half way to where he wants to be, apparently.
Sharif says the two months away from his wife have been worth the sacrifice. He’s got a long way to go, but he’s on the way.
He’s never seen himself looking like that, much less Fleur his wife seeing it. His size doesn’t bother her, he says. But he wants to embody the person she sees. The real him.
“Fleur, the next time you see me I will hopefully see the man that you married.”
Sharif’s loss takes the total to 13.7kg
3.23% of their total body weight.
Blue will need to lose at least 12.9kg between the four members of Blue who get counted.
Meaghan’s nervous because she knows that’s reachable for them.
Julie will go first since her loss isn’t going to be counted.
Julie’s weight: 94.9kg
Loss: 1.2kg
28.5kg in total. Ajay says it’s incredible!
Julie says she didn’t think she’d get this far and have this much success. On the verge of 30kg – and will be next week! (Ajay laughs.) – She’s over the moon.
But she really wants to join the other girls in the 80s. That’s her next goal.
First to weigh in for Blue will be… Cameron! Oooooh!
The fantastic week he’s had is the first thing to go through his mind on the way up to the scales.
Cameron’s weight: 127.4kg
Loss: 4.6kg
Even Cameron looks really happy at that. Ajay grins and asks, “Arrrre ya happyyyyyyyyyy?” Cameron says he is.
He tells us the team is off to a good start and he feels great.
Cameron says to Ajay that the mind must have been his problem. Seeing his wife has cleared his mind.
Blue will need another 8.3kg to stay safe for another week.
Next up, Sean!
Sean’s weight: 92.8kg
Loss: 3kg
Not bad, not bad at all. Sean seems a little disappointed. He was hoping for 3.3kg because that would get him to 40kg overall. Next week!
Ajay asks him how much he wants to get back to baseball. Sean’s really looking forward to it. “Look out boys, I’m coming!”
Errr. Yeah. My eyebrow is raised, too.
5.3kg remaining. Between Teresa and Tiffany. Seems pretty doable, right?
Teresa has to go first.
Teresa’s weight: 82.6kg
Loss: 1.9kg
Not bad, for her size. But not enough for the team, really.
Teresa boggles at having put 32.4kg on her body in the past. She says she is fricking crazy. It took so long and took so much hard work to lose the weight. Never again!
Tiffany is left to last. Poor thing!
Tiffany needs 3.4kg. That’s still doable. Tiffany does well most weeks.
Tiffany’s weight: 82.2kg
Loss: 1.6kg
“Nooo…” Tiffany says, quietly.
Tiffany’s sort of happy, sort of sad. She got a weightloss but now they have to face elimination again.
And she doesn’t feel very safe in the competition since losing Bob.
Blue’s total loss: 11.1kg
Percentage: 2.8%
Blue’s winning streak is over.
However! Cameron’s this week’s Biggest Loser! Applause and shocked noises from everyone present. And Cam is visibly stoked!
Meaghan says the Red Team’s win was the best feeling she’d ever had. Poor thing!
Blue is really not looking forward to elimination, surprisingly…
Tomorrow night, they have to face the music.
Has Cam’s newfound success made him a target? Or will the double bracelet on Teresa’s wrist prove to be a factor?
Find out after interminable replays tomorrow night!
