TBL Australia 4×48: Pigs in Mud v4!

A long, long time ago, on an island far away… Bob and Nathan climbed a hill!

Also, Andrew and Cam have swapped teams.

Tonight, Cam has a new colour and a new lease on life. Or so Mr Voiceover Man claims.

It’s also Challenge night. “We’re in for it in a very dirty way.” Julie, apparently unaware of the old double entendre.

Shannan arrives to find a newcomer to his Blue team. He seems quite pleased, but he’s faking it. Shannan tells us the week for Blue had gone from bad to worse!
Cam says they got rid of the weakest link. But Shannan’s having none of it, he reckons Cam’s head just isn’t in the right place yet. There’s no reason Cam can’t become the biggest loser this week!
Shannan says he won’t be treated any different to the rest of the team and Shannan’s actually kind of pleased because he’s wanted a crack at Cam.

Michelle walks into the dining to find three of her Red Team. Meaghan, Sammy and Sharif. She asks them where Cameron is? Sharif says he had to go for a walk.
While they’re talking, Andrew is sneaking up behind her and he then casually puts his hand on her shoulder and she looks up and shock turns to joy!
Meaghan says Michelle’s little ray of sunshine is back in the team!

Sammy thinks it’s a good swap since her and Cam were their worst enemies and now they can’t make excuses and protect each other anymore.

“That colour looks great on you, by the way!” Michelle to Andrew. Andrew replies that that’s what Meaghan said. Ahem.
Michelle says it’s fantastic to have Andrew back, though it just feels like she’s taken back what was already her’s!

Shannan says Cam has a point to prove this week. Prove Red made the wrong choice by sending him to Blue.
Cam’s got to earn Shannan’s respect, it’s not a gift, says Shannan. (THANK YOU!) And that he’ll earn it by putting in 100% into everything he does.

Shannan’s working up quite a sweat himself, holding the mitts while Teresa punches them.
Cam’s going very hard with the side kicks. Poor Julie’s getting a flogging!

Cam is running on the treadmill when Shannan says you can see his resolve start to fade. Cam, again, falls off! Faceplant onto it and all. It’s a wonder he’s not been injured!
But unlike previous times, Cam gets back up on the treadmill with no urging from Shannan and gets back to running again.

Shannan says the Cam who walked out of training today was a different one than the one who walked in. Head held high, chin up and he’d achieved something.
Shannan tells him that by training like that, he’s earnt Shannan’s respect.

Blue for life!

Everyone piles into the vans again, with no idea where they’re going or what they’re doing.

But finally they arrive… at a paddock!
With a gigantic mud pit in it. And Ajay! Sadly not in the mudpit.

She’s wearing an awesome purple dress though. I may be biased. I’m a big fan of purple!

Ajay says that usually it’s polite to play clean. But this challenge is all about getting down and dirty!
Sammy’s very excited at the prospect of getting mud all over her.
The challenge is Red vs Blue, with them all competing at once.

Each team member starts at one end of the mud pit, making their way through 100m of mud to the other side. After going under a cargo net. So they can’t avoid getting muddy!
Tiffany’s not looking forward to getting mud in her hair. Wuss!

Once they get to the other end they have to turn around one of the banners at the end and retrace their steps back to the start to grab a flag.
But there’s not enough flags for everyone. Whoever misses out, is out.
One flag gets removed and they do it all again.

“For the winners it’s going to be slippery, it’s going to be slimy, it’s going to be a slog. But it’s going to be worth it!”
Whoever wins today’s challenge will have the power to choose which member of the blue team will be sitting out of the weigh-in as Blue still have an extra person. So everyone really wants to win.

Blue get to decide who’ll sit out of today’s challenge though.
Cam’s the first to volunteer for once! Teresa says he’s always volunteering not to do the challenge and this is the first time he’s stepped up.
So Julie will be sitting out.

Andrew wants to show Red that he’s committed to them in this challenge.

They lay down in the surf lifesaving racing position. That’s lying face down with your head on your hands with your head furthest from the race track bit.

And Ajay has a starter’s pistol again, yay!
And Meaghan’s bum is looking quite nice lying on the ground like that. Hmm.

Most of them get off to a good start but poor old Cam is struggling as usual. But he’s valiantly pressing on.
Andrew’s way out in front as they turn round the banners so he slows down to a walk on the way back to conserve energy. Smart boy!

As expected, Andrew gets back first, followed by Sean and Meaghan. Teresa and Tiffany eventually get back too, leaving just Cameron, Sharif and Sammy struggling along.

Cam knew he’d come last but he wasn’t going to give up. Despite taking a spectacular face dive at one point.
And he does actually make it!

But he is, of course, dead last. Meaning one Blue down.

Time for round two. I guess Ajay’s using her nipples to keep track.

Andrew struggles a little getting under the cargo net the second round letting Sean take the lead.
Sam’s struggling quite a bit, falling over a lot. She said she couldn’t get out of a hole and when she did, she got into another hole.
Yeah, okay Sam…

Tiffany manages to get ahead of Teresa, making her stoked!

Sharif manages to go past Sammy on the way back, meaning it’s 3-3 for round 3!

Sean and Andrew are both going pretty hard still.
Sharif gets stuck at the cargo net with his foot getting stuck in the mud, so he struggles and Tiffany and Teresa both pull away from him.
Teresa just manages to beat Tiffany after Tiff gets stuck in the mud.
Sharif is last. Goodbye another Red!

Teresa wants to be one of the final four for the challenge, so she’s gibing it all she’s got this round.
Tiffany keeps hitting more holes in the mud, so she’s falling behind.
Meanwhile Andrew’s letting Sean have the lead this time since Andrew knows he’s well ahead.

At the end Teresa says she was disappointed that Tiffany didn’t give her a run for her money. She was like, “Dude, you’re like, way behind me!!”
Tiffany’s having a ball nonetheless!

Round Five, two Blue versus two Red. Andrew’s starting to feel tired, but so is everyone else.

Going through the cargo net, Teresa gets her fat head stuck in the cargo net, leaving Meaghan to pull away into a clear… third, behind the boys.
Meaghan says it’s not her goal to prove she’s the strongest girl… but it’s good to show she can keep up with the boys!

So it’s down to just Meaghan, Andrew and Sean for Round Six, the second last round!

Meaghan’s running as hard as she can… and is actually in front of Sean at the cargo net! Sean stumbles a couple times but not far after the cargo net Meaghan gets stuck in the mud and Sean blows past.

Meanwhile Teresa’s cheering from the sidelines like some kind of mental patient. Flailing around and such.

Andrew comes in first, Sean second and Meaghan third.
Julie’s thrilled for Meaghan though, even though she’s Red team. It’s great to see how determined and strong she is these days.

Sean and Andrew are both feeling buggered but also a lot of pressure to succeed.

Final round. First person to grab the flag will win!
Both men shake hands before the race which is very nice to see!

And we cut to “next time” as the boys get to the cargo net.
Also on Sunday, Bob and Nathan have their first island weigh-in. Oooh!
