TBL Australia 4×43: Weigh-In/Bob’s Story Telling Hour

Previously on The Biggest Loser… Oh god they’re still banging on about the damn bracelets.
If you missed it, Sharif went on The Walk and had to choose one bracelet and give it to someone else. So he took Tiffany’s Double bling bracelet and gave it to Teresa. Who very poorly feigned surprise when it was her idea all along!

Also, Cam auditioned for a role as the new FailWhale during the weekly Challenge, answering a whole bunch of questions wrong before finally turning it around and getting a few right.
But Red is still very much behind as we pick up where we left off on Friday.

Namely, suffering through countless bits of repeated footage and contestant narration of things that just happened on screen…

Also, we get a special catch up with Tania and Ramses “as their amazing transformations continue”.

Red has 70kg on their disk whilst Blue only has 50kg.

How many servings of vegetables should an adult eat per day?
5, 7 or 9?

Teresa correctly answers 5.

How many calories are in a cup of tea with a dash of milk?
0, 10 or 20 calories?

Cameron guesses 20 calories. You can see Red groaning in the background as the burly burgen lad puts more barley bags on their bloody disk!
The boys are struggling and the girls even more so and they have to drop out. Dang!

Blue win again! This means they get to choose which of the Blue team will sit out of the weigh-in.
Red remain hopeful of winning the weigh-in anyway.

Michelle arrives to have the Challenge explained by the contestants.
Michelle is a little surprised they picked Cameron as the brains. She thinks they should have picked Sharif who knows all his numbers.

Shannan also gets an explanation from Blue and isn’t surprised their “very own Rainman” Teresa was chosen as the brains. I wonder if she’s an excellent driver?

Shannan says they need to have a chat about who should sit out of the weigh-in. Their diets have been messed with this week as they’re all eating frozen meals.

Time for Red’s Last Chance Training. As a group they’ve lost 138 kilos so today they’re doing everything in reps of 138. No breaking them up, just go all the way through.
Sammy says she’s going to drop the weights at one point but she manages to hang onto them after some encouragement from Michelle. Who then gives her a big hug and boggles at the lack of tears!

Even Cameron’s got a more positive attitude this time.
Meaghan’s got her money on Cam for Biggest Loser of the week, Michelle says. And she agrees!
Cam’s expecting a better result this week since he put in a lot more work this week than the previous week.

Nathan’s carrying Michelle around on his back then as he jogs up and down the gym.

Tania and Ramses, Day One…
Tania and Ramses today… they look exactly the same. They both talk about how they’ve done well. Ramses used to be in a XXXL now he’s just an XL.
And another kiss to finish the catchup. Bleh.

Shannan’s session is about having no regrets at the weigh-in. When you stand on the scales you can say you’ve given it everything.
But he also wants them to reliase how strong they are as a team.
They’re all partnered up today to remind them that they’ve all got to do well or one of them might have to go home.

Julie’s doing great today, Shannan says. She’s keeping Bob motivated and getting through the exercises. Julie used to be the weak link in the team but now she’s a force to be reckoned with!

Shannan takes Julie aside for a bit of a chat after the training session because he’d noticed a big change in her this week. Julie says she’s not got knobbly knees and a thumping heart each training session.
Julie says to Shannan that Alison told her to stop thinking of herself as a Mum, to find herself.

“So on that point I need to ask you a favour. Can you please stop calling me Mum? And can you please start calling me Julie.” “I can’t promise!” “Okay!” Julie laughs and Shannan says he’ll try and Julie says that’s fine, try for me like I try for you!

Shannan tells us that he was using it as a term of endearment with Julie, but now it doesn’t fit her and she wants to be called Julie and she wants to be respected that way. Shannan says it made him realise how far she’s come and he’s also pleased at the level of respect between them.

Time for weigh-in!
Everyone’s nervous, of course. Well, Sharif probably isn’t, he has immunity!

Sharif says he still wants to contribute to the team’s weightloss so hopefully he hasn’t waterloaded…

As for who Blue have decided to sit out of the weigh-in?
Andrew.

No, really. They’re sitting Andrew out.
Andrew says the frozen foods affected him a lot. He felt very lethargic and found it difficult to get out of bed.
Nathan says it’s a choice he wouldn’t’ve made!

First team to weigh in will be Blue.

And since Andrew’s weightloss is fairly meaningless in the grand scheme of things this week, he gets to go first.
Nathan watches him walk up the runway thinking he doesn’t need to be there, look how thin he is!

Current Weight: 110.4kg
Loss: 4.4kg

Tiffany then says the bit about having made “the wrong decision!” Or so she thinks, anyway.
Andrew’s quite pleased and gets congratulations from the peanut gallery. Nathan tells him to “rock it up!” And Andrew starts hamming it up with some muscle flexes and so on.

Bob’s turn now!

Current Weight: 114.9kg
Loss: 7.1kg

Blue Team is very excited. Sharif says, “That’s a big number…”

52.9kg so far for Bob. Which is past the 51.3kg Adro lost to win the whole darn competition in series 1!

Teresa’s turn now.

Current Weight: 84.5kg
Loss: 3.3kg

She’s shocked. “I lost 3.3 kilos! Aww, thank you God!”
Ajay asks how long since she’s felt that good about herself and Teresa says she never has. And in seven weeks she’s gone from that to liking herself and being proud of what she’s done.

Sean’s turn now.

Current Weight: 95.8kg
Loss: 3.6kg

Blue seem very happy with that, too! Sean says people have been complimenting him, in good ways, not teasing. And if anyone else wants to do it, they can keep doing so!

Blue’s loss so far is 14kg.

Tiffany’s chance to weigh in now.

Current weight: 83.8kg
Loss: 3.1kg

She really wanted 3.3, she says. She’s just under 30 kilos lost in total. Ajay says she’s got to be happy with being just short of 30!
Alison told her she needs to do it for herself first so she can love herself and her husband can love her (long time?) and she can be a good role model for her little girl.

Julie’s last up to bat for Blue. She was on 100.2kg last week. Can she drop more than .3kg?

Current weight: 96.1kg
Loss: 4.1kg

She breaks into tears and gets the shakes. “You’re going to have to give me a minute!” Julie says to Ajay. Ajay says she can take all the time she needs!
Lots of congratulations, from Meaghan and the others. Teresa calls out she’s no longer Mum, she’s JT!
Julie says she can’t believe she’s done it and Tiffany calls out that they can believe it!

Meaghan thinks it’s great that Julie is being positive about herself and she’s loving where the changes are going. She’s an amazing role model now.
Julie has a side bit to say she knows Meaghan loves her to death but to be a role model? Wow.

21.2kg lost by Blue in total.
Percentage: 4.27%

Blue are stoked!

Red will need to lose 24.8kg in total to avoid elimination.
That’s certainly doable. Sharif thinks they can do it. It’ll be tough, but they can do it!

Sammy’s first for Red.

Current Weight: 91.8kg
Loss: 3kg

She seems fairly underwhelmed but her team is pleased. 3kg is a good result with her current weight. She says she was hoping for more, she’d pushed herself very hard this week.
Ajay then brings out the tearjerker lines, asking her about her having trouble looking in the mirror with Alison during the week.
She sees nothing in the mirror she likes and a few things she has to change.
What does Cam see? Cam says it wouldn’t matter if she was 500kg, she’d still be the nicest person in the world. Lots of smiles and nods from everyone at that. Cam said even if she’s 60kg, she’d still be the nicest, bar none. “Awww, Daddy!”

Cameron’s turn now. He gets a punch on the shoulder for encouragement from Nathan. Cameron thinks he’ll be going home if they face elimination, the team has to remain strong!

Current Weight: 132kg
Loss: 3.3kg

Sharif and Nathan lead the applause for him. But he doesn’t seem real happy. And Sam’s obviously distraught. She says it’s no wonder he’s so negative, he’s put in so much effort – he could not have put in any more this week – and he still doesn’t get a great result.
3.3kg isn’t so bad, really!
32.1kg is his total loss so far. Cam says it’s 20kg less than Bob’s done in the same amount of time. “You’re not Bob, Cameron.” Sean says.
Cam says he’s not happy letting the team down because his daughter Sam is part of the team.
“So are you!” Nathan. He asks who’s been putting in at every training session and he’s been rewarded with 3.3kg!
Nathan tells us he feels bad for the guy. He knows the self-defeating thoughts and you get stuck in the loop of feeling you’re not good enough.

18.5kg still to go. With Meaghan, Nathan and Sharif to go. It’s still not out of reach.

Meaghan’s turn now. She’s very nervous as Sam and Cam didn’t get great numbers.

Current Weight: 84.8kg
Loss: 3.2kg

She’s happy with the loss on a personal level but I expect she’s a little disappointed for the team.
She feels great, feels fantastic now that she’s lost nearly 25kg.
Meaghan understands why Cam is upset. He’s been in so much work. But without him, they’re not a Red Team. They need him there!

15.3kg to go. Just Nathan and Sharif to go. It’s still possible!

Sharif gets second last go. He has immunity. But he’s still feeling the pressure.

Current Weight: 137.6kg
Loss: 7.8kg

Teresa’s ecstatic for him and Nathan gives a big yell, as does Sharif. Sharif says it’s awesome because they’re that much closer to surviving.
He tells us that it’s also good because he showed his team that while he took immunity for his own survival, the rest of the week he was trying his best to help them win the weigh-in.

But it still leaves a whopping 7.5kg.
It’s doable. People have done more in a week at around his weight. But it’s going to be a hard ask.

Current weight: 109.3kg
Loss: 5.1kg

It ain’t enough and Nathan instantly realises it. Even though 5.1kg is a good loss for him, he’s obviously still very disappointed for his team.
Last time he was under 110kg would probably have been primary school, 12-13 or so.
Nathan says he still needs to be there. Every day he’s there it’s another couple of months he gets on the outside.

Nathan says the Red’s aren’t losing through lack of trying or heart, but they’ve got to go to that “crappy” room and send someone home.
Nathan tells us his journey may be ending because he’s an easy target, something he’s not been through the whole time in the House.

Blue wins again!
And furthermore… Bob has notched up another Biggest Loser title. 5th time in total. Nobody has ever managed such a feat on the show.

Apparently Bob’s also been sharing more of himself with them all, Sharif says, at the weigh-ins. He’s already an inspiration to them all but he keeps revealing more.
Bob says he was listening to Cam talking about comparing himself to Bob and feeling inadequate. Bob wants Cam to know that it’s not true.

Back in high school, right near the beginning of high school, he got a spot in the school’s hockey team. First game they ever played, he played fairly well but in the last moments of the game a chance came to score, he took the shot but missed.
His form teacher was also his hockey coach. Following week in class she pulled him in front of the class and told him he was as useless in the classroom as he was on the hockey field. He says he was only a young boy and starts to tear up a bit. Ajay’s desperately trying to hold back the tears as well, I’m not sure she’s going to succeed if he talks much longer.
Bob says he felt so inadequate and he never played hockey again and he could never bring himself to play any team sport again. He always found excuses to not play.
Yep, Ajay has to flick away a tear but she’s bravely soldiering on!

He kept finding that everything he was interested in doing, there was always people better at it than he was.
Being there today has reminded him of all of that. And he doesn’t want Cam to ever put himself down by comparing himself to someone else.
Bob compares himself to Cam at times with some of the things in his life and Bob finds he comes up short. What Cam is doing is marvellous. He’s doing a great job. And today, Bob’s done a great job!

Cam tells us Bob’s made the journey a lot better and he hopes to have Bob as a friend for life.

Red now has to head into elimination for the second week in a row.

Tomorrow night, Nathan’s going to make Cam a one time offer. “You’re not ready to go home, mate.” Will Nathan really make the sacrifice for Cam? All signs are pointing to him doing so.
But Meaghan might throw a spanner in the works by forcing a tied vote. Not sure why she would, if Nathan is offering to go. Maybe she’s just sick of Cam?
Hard to see Blue sending anyone but Nathan home…
