TBL Australia 4×41: Sharif goes for a walk. Walk, Sharif, walk.
Previously on The Biggest Loser Alison, Sam and Cosi from last season rocked up to the new Fat Camp to prove they’re not fat anymore and thus it can be done, honest!
It was also Temptation night last night, but that bit was really boring because only Sharif took part and he only did it because he was taking one for the team. Snooze!
Tonight! Wait, tonight is not really worthy of an exclamation mark. It’s time for another Walk, this time Sharif will be doing it again.
Any bets on whether it will Change The Game Forever?
Shannan’s worried his peeps will have taken part in Temptation. Michelle thinks her team doesn’t need to have taken part but she’s still worried.
Shannan asks what the Temptation was because they’re getting better and better each time!
He goes around the group finding out what everone’s food was.
“Roast pork with vegetables.” Says Bob. Shannan groans. And then asks if it had crackling, which Bob says it also had!
Julie says they all feel secure, once Shannan asks them why they didn’t partake.
Michelle’s team then recounts Temptation as well.
Sharif says his was butter chicken and Michelle was all, “Ewwww! You can take that butter chicken and rub it right on your thighs!”
Michelle’s not too upset. Especially when Cam says they don’t see it as Sharif taking in 1,000 calories, the whole team took 1,000 calories and so they all burnt off 1,000 calories.
Sharif is still going to have to pay in training today.
The boys on Red are on the cardio machines while the girls are on the spin bikes for a minute, then doing hops back and forth over a bench for a minute.
Michelle’s very pleased with Cameron’s efforts today, as is Sammy. Seems he’s finally putting in the effort needed!
Michelle says it took so long to get Cameron to believe he can do it, but he’s finally gotten there.
“Are you breathing Cameron?” “Yip!” Cameron, with barely any breath.
Michelle wants Sharif to remember how hard he was pushed today the next time he’s tempted on the outside.
Sharif’s getting pushed so hard he’s concerned he’s going to puke – Meaghan thought he was going to get to taste the butter chicken again!
Nathan’s very impressed by Sharif’s effort and gets him the white bucket, just in case.
Michelle’s grinding off some of her shoe rubber on the spin bike to provide more resistance. Michelle says she’s loving Sharif today!
Shannan doesn’t want his team to back off on the training, they’ve got to keep up the pressure and maintain their lead and their teamwork.
Shannan also says he’s going to take part in training today but he’s not really doing all that much of it, mostly just pushing Julie to greater efforts.
Julie had been thinking and feeling old but now Shannan’s trying to draw out the potential inside of her.
More strength builds more determination, Julie says. And she’s enjoying it all.
Then they finish with some pushups and burpies. With Shannan doing them alongside Andrew, Sean and Tiffany. Shannan wants to show them how far they’ve come but that there’s also still a bit of distance between them and the trainer.
Then they’re bouncing over small witches hats. Shannan’s like a jackrabbit, leaping over them one after another with no pauses. Sean thinks it’s great having Shannan there because the harder Shannan goes the more Sean pushes himself.
And now it’s time for The Walk. So off Sharif goes.
Blah blah nervous blah blah Red trusts Sharif blah blah strategy…
Meanwhile, back at the House. Shannan’s got something to chat with everyone about.
Oh, ew! Shannan! We don’t need to see icky body parts. All sorts of clogged up arteries and hearts and so on.
Shannan says most of the contestants had at least 3 or even 4 of the 5 predispositions to heart disease.
Shannan lists the predispositions as:
Excess weight, lifestyle factors including smoking and drinking, diet and family history.
Quite a few of them have family history. And heart disease is the number one killer of Australians at the moment. At age 40+ men have a 1 in 2 chance and women have a 1 in 3 chance of having some kind of cardiac condition.
Also, Tiffany, that bio age testing thing? Yeah, your bio age of 40 means that heart disease thing applies to you, too!
Andrew was 21 and suffered a stroke. He was reasonably fit, a little overweight but not high on cholesterol.
He’s got a second chance now, he’s one of the few who do get a second chance. And Andrew says it’s scary but you’ve got to give it a shot.
Cameron’s got all the risk factors bar hereditary. Especially carrying a lot of the weight around his torso as he does.
Bob says he’s managed to stop taking his blood pressure medication that he’d been on for 15 or more years! Many of the others are also really happy with their progress.
Meaghan’s having a chat with us about Sammy and her woes at the moment.
Meaghan finds her in front of the mirror, which is different already!
Sammy tells Meaghan that the two tops she’d been looking forward to fitting in to? She fits in them now! Sammy fakes Meaghan out while trying one on. Meaghan is amazed that it’s loose now!
Even Sammy really likes the look of it. She even likes looking in the mirror at it! Meaghan’s really happy for it.
Then Sammy tries on a blue shirt which is a 14 and she fits into it just fine!
Back at Walk-land, Ajay’s standing on her little box again.
Two urns for Sharif to pick from today.
I’m skipping a bunch of gibbering here, just so you know. Just think back on what’s happened on previous walks and you get the gist.
Ajay focuses particularly on the Double/Nothing bracelets. So it seems one of the bracelets will be moving again!
Two disks. One says to choose one bracelet and give it to yourself.
And on the other disk it says choose a bracelet and give it to someone else.
Sharif finally picks a disk and heads back to the House.
Nathan guesses that maybe the next elimination will be a double?
Sharif reveals it’s to do with the bracelets, again. Which instantly causes Meaghan a little concern as she’s still holding that Nothing bracelet.
The disk he chose was the one that makes him pick one bracelet and give it to another contestant.
Teresa looks very pleased by that.
Now Sharif has to decide who he’d give the bracelet to, after picking which one he’d take away.
Tiffany’s been using her Double bracelet as a sort of motivational tool to keep her going on.
Then Sharif announces that he’d like to have a chat with Nathan first. Everyone else is surprised but Nathan is less surprised, apparently they talk a lot of strategy talk.
Sharif says to Nathan that he was thinking about taking the Nothing bracelet and giving it to Teresa to protect her, but Meaghan would be distressed by that and Nathan’s not sure Sharif’s smart enough not to do that.
Sharif then says to Nathan that the other option was to take the Double bracelet from Tiffany but he couldn’t decide on who to give it to. Nathan says he’d take it! Before he winds up with the Nothing bracelet.
Then Sharif wants to have a chat with Tiffany about the Double bracelet, find out if it’s a burden or a motivation.
Tiffany was expecting questions seeking advice and so because she was surprised, she was more honest about her feelings.
Tiffany tells Sharif that at first she hated the Double bracelet but then she realised she just had to knuckle down and go as hard as she can, you’d be silly not to!
Meaghan’s next. Meaghan really doesn’t want to lose her Nothing bracelet. Once it goes back to the Yellow Line, if that happens, the Nothing bracelet might keep her safe.
Sharif’s thinking of taking the Nothing bracelet and giving it to Teresa. Teresa doesn’t want it though. She’d rather have the Double bracelet. Especially as it would then look like Sharif had made a target within Blue, so it’d look good for him.
So Sharif is still right up in the air about who he should give which bracelet!
Oh, it’s almost decision time, hooray!
They’re all in the trophy room again. Tiffany’s sure her bracelet will be leaving her wrist, figuring he’d want to get the Double bracelet within the Red Team, too.
Sharif gibbers a bunch more. Just tell us your freaking decision!
Nathan could be given the Double bracelet as a reward for the hard work and strong effort he’s put in. But it puts a target on him.
Tiffany thinks Sharif and Nathan have cooked something up.
Sam could get motivated by the Double bracelet.
Cam could get the Nothing bracelet and get protection. Taking the Nothing bracelet from Meaghan and giving it to Julie would protect Julie instead of Meaghan.
But Sharif has decided he’ll give a bracelet to Teresa.
Giving her the Double bracelet? No pros, she doesn’t want it. But it could serve to keep her motivated.
Giving her the Nothing bracelet would enable her to stay longer in the game. But it would take the bracelet away from his team.
“It’s all fair in love and war.” Teresa makes bug-eyes at Sharif.
The decision he’s made is to take Tiffany’s Double bracelet off her and give it to Teresa.
Tiffany’s baffled. Meaghan’s happy!
Sharif says he’s giving it to Teresa because she’s not there for the money, she’s there for her own reasons.
He tells us that giving it to her doesn’t make her any more of a target and it doesn’t bring an unnecessary distraction to the Red Team.
This is a bit weird, Teresa’s acting all shocked. But she told him to do it!
Teresa thinks it will be a bit of protection for her since if she gets eliminated she could very well hand the bracelet to Sharif!
Tomorrow night, Red versus Blue in a mini fatlympics.
And the Challenge is a repeat of one from last year where one member of the team acts as the brains and the others act as the brawn. Get a question right, the other team gets 10kg added to the weight they’re carrying on a large round disk. Get a question wrong and the answerer’s team gets the 10kg instead.
Expect Blue to do well at this with walking Fatcyclopedia Teresa undoubtedly being their brains!
