TBL Australia 4×37: Weigh-In time again and it’s the first Red vs Blue for the year!

Previously the fatties were doing their best horse impressions.

Fortunately, they all chose to run on a racecourse rather than eat a bunch of hay.

Tonight we find out who won The Challenge… and it’s the first Red vs Blue weigh-in of the year.

Cue more recap footage!

Michelle’s Red Team have a massive lead at the start of the final lap but Blue are slowly running them down.
Sammy’s struggling a lot… and Blue finally pass them. Fairly easily, all things considered.

Then Nathan piggybacks Sammy in an effort to catch back up. Sammy’s losing weight but she’s still up around 100kg! Ouch! And impressive!

Michelle’s very proud of her Red Team, despite the loss. Nathan says they may have lost the first challenge but they’ll definitely win the first weigh-in!

Now it’s time for Blue to get their phone call home!
Julie has a chat to her family, Teresa talks to her Dad, Sean is talking to.. some dude.
Tiffany speaks to Ben, her husband. Isabelle, their daughter, has asked for a baby brother too! And Tiffany says they’ll just have to work on that when they get home. Awwww, yeahhhh!

Andrew gets a chat to his woman, plus his daughter Ella, who wasn’t really talking much before he left. But now she knows various words and says she loves him. Andrew says she has the most beautiful voice. Awwww!

Michelle and Shannan have a surprise for their teams for Last Chance Training today.
They’re going to the beach! Cue shots of nervous fat folk!

Shannan’s on his “no regrets” thing again. Wants to make sure they have none when they get to the weigh-in.
They’re rolling sideways across the sand plus running and doing lunges.
Teresa’s amazed at how far she’s come since Fitzroy Island.

Tiffany’s got a seriously huge kick on her, she’s kicking the mat and shoving Shannan back a mile each time. I think the first time he wasn’t expecting too much of a kick from her and he got a bit of a surprise!
Tiffany says she lets all her feelings out when she’s doing the kicking bag stuff.

Shannan tells us Blue have had a good couple of days, they’ve come together very nicely already. They’ve won a challenge and they’re in good shape to win the weigh-in!

Michelle’s team meanwhile have found a killer hill. She asks them all who had trained in the morning. Everyone puts their hand up bar Cameron.
Cameron’s back was sore, he says. So now he’s got a front row seat for the training session, Michelle tells him!

“The hill that we were at today, is hell.” Apparently it goes up to 45 degrees so if you’re going to get up there, you’ve got to fire up!
Michelle’s urging Amanda along while she struggles. Cameron’s doing it pretty tough as well.
Meanwhile Michelle’s got a resistance band around Nathan’s waist and is pulling backwards on him as he powers up the hill. Very, very impressive!

Michelle says there’s nothing tricky about the training today it’s just straight up the hill then straight back down. And repeat!
Michelle’s pacing along with Cameron on his way down once. She asks him if he doesn’t like training and he says not up a hill like this!
Michelle tells him he does what she asks and nothing else, no speaking! She only wants to hear Yes Ma’am!
She asks him to remember he’d promised not to let his little girl down. This is what will keep them in there longer!

Cameron tells us that he’s learnt when Michelle says something you’ve got to say Yes Ma’am because you’re going to get the pain in the body anyway, may as well just get that and not the pain in the butt!

Cameron makes it to the top of the hill. Apparently they’d gone up the hill 6 times. Ouch!
He hits the ground at the top and just lies there for a while, doesn’t get up, doesn’t talk.

Michelle says, “Cam are you with me? (Yeah.) You know who I am? (Yeah.) Who am I? (The devil!) HE’S FINE! (The Red Devil!)”
Cameron says Michelle may look gorgeous but she looks like a red devil. He hates her sometimes, but god he loves her!

After their gruelling workout they go for a swim. Except Michelle and Cam who stay on the shore and watch everyone else splashing about with the water lapping at their feet.

Weigh-in time!

Ajay reminds them, and us, that the game has changed. They’re in Red and Blue teams now. OMG. I HAD NOT NOTICED THIS.

Meaghan says now she has to keep herself safe, no matter what. She’s not in the same team as her Mum anymore!

The team with the lowest overall weightloss percentage will be facing elimination – there’s no longer a Yellow Line. The only person who will be safe is Nathan as he has Immunity. Even the week’s Biggest Loser will not receive any protection. (Which stinks!)

As this is the first week they’re weighing in as Blue and Red teams, Michelle and Shannan are there to provide support!

Blue’s weighing in first. With Tiffany being first up.

Tiffany: 86.9kg (3.5kg)

Everyone is very happy, especially Tiffany who is now in the 80s club too!
From the time she got pregnant till she went into the house she’d put on 25kg and she thought if she ended up having another baby she’d put on another 25kg. And it’s her greatest desire to have another baby when she gets home. She wants lots of kids and siblings for Isabelle. Awww!

Sean’s up next. Will he get under 100kg?

Sean: 99.4kg (4.4kg)

Sean is ECSTATIC! He runs down and high-fives everyone. Everyone has a big grin on their face. Nathan says the emotion he showed was well justified. When Nathan makes it under 100kg he’ll be backflipping off there!
I’d like to see that!

Bob’s turn now. Can he get 5 Biggest Loser titles?

Bob: 122kg (4.4kg)

Michelle gives Shannan a smile before Bob’s number comes up. Shannan has a quick look over at her but is too nervous for Bob to grin back!
Bob’s very happy with his loss. He’s up to over 45kg in total! Nathan says it’s amazing.
Ajay asks him how much it meant to him to win the race and Bob says it meant a lot.
“There was a very old man running down that track. I was really struggling. And I came to a point about a hundred metres before the end of the race and I knew that I couldn’t go any further. I knew that I had to go. And, uh, I knew the old man couldn’t make it. And at that point the new man stepped out.” Huge round of applause from everyone and aww’s and tears from Julie.
Bob says he’s not an old man anymore, he doesn’t have to be one, walk like one or think like one. He’s a different man!

Next up, Teresa.

Teresa: 87.8kg (3kg)

She’s quite happy with that result. She’s really pleased to get under 90kg.
Ajay asks Teresa if, before she came there, she’d lost pride in her appearance? And Teresa says she never used to do her hair or bother with that stuff, but she’s been hanging out with Tiffany and “Meggsy” and the other girls and it’s been awesome, they’ve given her heaps of ideas!

Julie’s turn! She wants to lose 3kg because that would get her under the 100kg mark.

Julie: 100.2kg (2.7kg)

“SO CLOSE!” Exclaims Teresa. Ajay reads it as, “One hundred point TWO kilos.” She has a bit of a laugh too, as does Julie.
Shannan says Julie’s changed a lot, mentally, since having the mind-body-spirit weak. The turning point was when she broke the wooden board.

Andrew’s last up.

Andrew: 114.8kg (1.9kg)

Very meagre result. He’s not real happy with his number, especially with how well the rest of his team has done. He feels he’s let the team down. Shannan says he hasn’t, no way! He ran next to him in the challenge when Andrew had huge pain shooting up his leg but there was no way he was going to stop and let the team down.
“Shannon” tells him chin up, no regrets. Pretty bad that the subtitler can’t get his name right.

Blue Team Loss: 19.9kg
Percentage: 3.15%

Red will need a total of more than 23.1kg.

Meaghan’s first for Red Team. Meaghan says Michelle’s turning out to be a fantastic trainer. But she’s worried she may still pull a small number.

Meaghan: 88kg (3.2kg)

She’s quite happy, gets a good girl from Shannan, too! Meaghan’s very happy to have joined the 80s club.
Michelle says it’s a great start and Meaghan’s an amazing girl to train.

19.9kg left to lose.

Sammy’s the next to take a bite out of the total.

Sammy: 94.8kg (2.5kg)

Michelle applauds and says well done.
Ajay asks if Sammy can see the difference in the mirror. But Sammy says she still sees the same thing, just smaller.
When was the last time she felt beautiful? She never has, she says. Not for a long time.
Quite a few people are in tears.
At her “semi-formal” she left the house in a dress for the first time in a while and at one point a stranger walked past and said she shouldn’t be in a dress, she’s too fat!

Meaghan says it breaks her heart to her Sammy talking like that because she thinks she’s an amazing person and Meaghan wishes Sammy could see it.

Ajay asks her if she’s seen everything she’s done since she’s been here?! :-(
Michelle says it smashes her to see Sammy be so down on herself and have been doing it for so long that she doesn’t even recognise it.
Ajay tells Sammy she has to trust the people around her and one day she will look in the mirror and see the beautiful woman she is. Just keep doing what you’re doing and it will happen, trust!

Nathan’s turn now. He’s nervous due to lack of Andrew this week and Andrew’s low number… He’ll be happy, so long as it’s a minus something!

Nathan: 114.4kg (1.3kg)

Andrew boggles, as does Michelle. Ajay asks how he’s feeling and he says, quite sarcastically, “Oh great!”
Amanda was shocked. We really needed to hear that.

Nathan’s only 400g in front of Andrew, so Andrew has another week to catch up!

Cameron’s facing the music next. He’s nervous as he knows he’s the weakest link in the team.

Cameron: 135.3kg (1.9kg)

“What’s going on with my guys? What is going on with my big boys?” Michelle asks us all.
Cameron’s very disappointed. Ajay tries to flip it around and say he’s only 35kg away from his goal weight.

Ajay asks him if he still wants to be there and he says he doesn’t want to go home… but then breaks into tears (again!) and whispers that he doesn’t want to be there, either.
Michelle says her and the rest of the team believe in him but he’s got to start believing in himself!

Red need another 14.2kg to win. With just Amanda and Sharif to go. Michelle tells us they could do it, but it would be so close!

Amanda is the second to last Red to hop up.

Amanda: 136kg (6.4kg)

It’s a good number! Amanda says she was quite proud of her loss.
Ajay asks her if she feels like a song again now!

Oh, look, it’s my skip forward button!

Red Team still need another 7.8kg. From Sharif alone. Or they’ll have to face elimination.

Sharif takes his shirt off, again. Dear god, why?

Sharif: 145.4kg (1.2kg)

Woeful! “A loss is a loss.” Says Sharif. He says it’s not what they needed but he’s still a kilo lighter than last week.
“For too long all of us have used bad weeks as an excuse to go back to our bad old habits and this is not about that. This is about the journey that we want to change our lives and it’s already been a life changing experience for us and hopefully it’ll be a life changing experience for everyone who watches. Because if we can do it, if we can be away from our families, if we can be homesick, if we can go through all the pain and torture that we do, both emotionally and physically? Anyone can do it! That’s what it’s about.”

Red Team’s Loss: 16.5kg
Percentage: 2.26%

First blood goes to Blue!

And interestingly, Amanda is this week’s Biggest Loser! She’s blown away, she thought Sean had got it this week.

But someone on Red is still going home!

So it’s down to choosing between 4 other people to vote for. Except for Nathan who has 5 choices!

Tomorrow night it’s time to vote.
But Cameron might save everyone the trouble and fall on his sword…
