TBL Australia 4×36: Run run run as fast as you can, that is if you want a gingerbread man!
Previously on The Biggest Loser… Red and Blue are back, yeah baby!
Game onnnnn!
Tonight Shannan and Michelle get shocked by the re-introduction of the Red and Blue teams. Surely they were aware it’d happen eventually?
Also, it’s Challenge night. Hooray!
Shannan’s got a gut feeling something big is going on. Pretty sure it’s not his fat lip but you never know.
They wander into the house and find their teams in their colours. Nathan says Michelle’s lip hit the floor first, followed closely by Shannan’s. Oh really?
Shannan wonders if he’s still Blue and Michelle’s still Red? Yes, of course!
Shannan asks how it happened and someone points to Nathan and says it’s his fault!
Michelle’s floored by missing Andrew, Bob and Tiffany from her team, they’re all Blue now!
More recapping of what lead to this turn of events. Snoozefest, except for Michelle and Shannan’s reactions throughout the explanation!
Michelle’s impressed by the team’s Julie and Meaghan have chosen.
But Michelle says they’ve just got to do it. Blue Team with Shannan, Reds with Michelle!
Shannan welcomes everyone to the Blue Team for the first time in 2009. He needs to find out about everyone’s health.
Teresa has an inflammation to her “achilles tendon”. That seems to have been redubbed, thus quote marks. Maybe her third eye is what’s inflamed?
Shannan’s got his people doing high intensity weight stuff, which many of them haven’t done before. He’s very impressed by Andrew’s strength already.
Being part of the Blue Team, it’s not just a shirt it’s not just a colour. He wants them to embrace the “Blue for Life!” philosophy. Yay!
Michelle wants her team to know that to wear a Red t-shirt they have to wear it with honour and pride. Everyone has to bring 100% to the team.
Amanda’s giving Michelle about 50%, she says. Michelle has to go crazy on her before she starts getting anything real out of her.
After Amanda’s done we hear a sudden screech and thump as Cameron goes arse over mantits on the treadmill.
He eventually managed to start getting up though he staggers a bit at first. He’s fine, just scared him a little.
Shortly thereafter he’s up on the crosstrainer and back to working out. Good boy!
Now it’s time for everyone to pile into the vans to head off to the weekly Challenge.
The cars take them to Royal Randwick, cool!
Nathan says he thinks he’s a bit big to be a jockey…
Ajay pimps Royal Randwick some more. Saying it’s good for racing and an awesome event centre and blah blah blah.
Today’s challenge is like a traditional relay race. Each competitor will be stationed at certain points around the race course. They have to do four laps in the traditional relay style.
But that is not all, oh no!
For the final lap the first runner has to collect the second runner on the way around and both run together to the third who also comes along, etc.
Very, very tough!
The prize for winning today? Phone calls home, n’awwww!
Because today’s going to be such a huge challenge, Shannan and Michelle are coming along to encourage them all.
Teresa’s injured and thus can’t participate in the challenge, so Red need to sit someone out as well.
After some discussion they decide to sit Cameron out because he can’t run very fast and is also carrying a bit of an injury.
Meaghan’s starting for Red while Sean’s up first for Blue.
And after the starter’s pistol Sean is off like a bolt! Meaghan’s jogging along for a bit then stops to walk, bit more jogging etc.
Sean gets to the first changeover in the lead by a significant margin and passes on the baton to Andrew, who then passes it to Tiffany.
Meanwhile Meaghan’s passing on the baton to Sammy, who passes it on to Nathan, who takes off like a bat out of hell!
Tiffany’s struggling towards the end of her leg.
Sharif takes the baton from Nathan. He’s got a lot of ground to make up though.
All during this Michelle and Shannan are running alongside them at various points, encouraging their team.
Amanda takes the baton from Nathan and Michelle is goading her along. Prodding her with a hand in her back.
Amanda manages to catch up to Bob who’s doing the last leg for Blue, but she can’t manage to get past him.
When they hand over the batons to the two who started the race, Bob falls over and has to lie still for a bit. He says the world was turning and he thought he was going to die!
A few contestants have commented that the very thick grass is a bit of a struggle to run on. Here’s hoping no injuries come from this challenge…
Sean takes off yet again, Meaghan jogging along in his wake.
The medics checking on Bob but he’s obviously fine, just very puffed out.
Tiffany can’t see Bob’s on the ground so she’s just happy he must have done well because they’re winning still!
Meaghan passes the baton on to Sammy, but she’s clearly struggling so Sammy checks on her but Meaghan manages to get enough breath to scream GO!
Sammy passes the baton to Nathan… who goes completely nuts, even faster than last time. Michelle’s running with him and can’t even keep up, he’s going that damn fast!
Obviously he doesn’t have the stamina she does so she does catch up eventually, but it’s impressive nonetheless.
Sharif’s caught up to Julie on this lap and goes past her. Michelle calls encouragements to Julie as they go past. That’s why Michelle and Shannan kick ass – they want to see everyone do well!
Amanda says her second lap actually seemed a little easier, she just got on with it and maybe even went a little faster!
Blue’s trailing now. So Sean’s got something to catch. Sean and Shannan overtake Meaghan and Michelle.
Sean passes the baton off to Andrew and has a big, deep breathing session.
Nathan calls out with a loud encouragement of Sammy. Previous lap he’d been calling her “Lil bit”. Heh.
Sammy falls to pieces after her leg and is in tears, Michelle gives her big cuddles and she calms down eventually.
Nathan has again done well and manages to catch and pass Tiffany. He says he wished he’d written something on his bum because that’s all Tiffany could see!
And as they carry on running, someone is yelling out, “PHONE CALL HOME! PHONE CALL HOME!” I guess it’s meant to be encouraging!
Julie’s gamely battling on, she even manages to do an entire lap at a jog. Shannan’s very impressed!
Bob’s still struggling but he’s managing to get through his legs!
Nathan’s really happy by the fourth lap. They’re still in the lead and Blue’s nowhere to be seen!
Meanwhile Andrew’s knee is starting to twinge each time he lands so Shannan’s got him to slow down to a walk for a bit.
Nathan tells Sharif to hit it and then they can rest on the way around for the last lap!
Tiffany tells Julie on the handover that Andrew’s hurt his knee and can’t run.
Bob’s hoping to make up some ground. Shannan’s telling Julie that they’re not winning but he still couldn’t be prouder of her!
Red’s in the lead going into the last lap. Can they maintain the lead?
Blue’s struggling. Sean’s doing it tough, needs a tiny rest but Shannan’s pushing him along still.
Nathan’s calling loudly for his Red teammates.
Sammy’s struggling badly by now. Nathan’s got her hand and trying to keep her going. Michelle’s encouraging her too with Meaghan striding out in front.
But Blue’s catching up…
Last lap, can Red hold on? Find out on Sunday.
Also on Sunday, Red vs Blue weigh-in, woohoo!
