TBL Australia 4×31: Weigh-In Night – Will there be drama? Challenge Result – Wish it’d been revealed Friday?

Two questions, same answer!

Previously on The Biggest Loser, Sean and Amanda returned to the game.
Also, Nathan and Andrew are finally being challenged at a Challenge… by Holly and Mel, if you can believe it!

Tonight, we find out if the girls really can topple the boys.
And, again, there’s drama in the weigh-in room. Who’d’ve thunk it!

People be still moving their Safcol tuna. Nathan says the stack has to stay standing for 60 seconds, so a stack collapse by the girls is a distinct possibility!
Nathan’s sure it’ll fall over.

But no! Holly and Mel have done it! Holly bursts into tears as she realises her and Mel have won… or have they? No! Mel finds one more tin, tsk tsk! She puts it on the pile and they’ve won!
Nathan’s not giving up though, he’s going to keep going because he wants to finish.

Nathan says, “Excuse me Cam!” Cam’s sitting on the blue boys’ box. Cam says, “You still going? We’re finished!”

Holly and Mel are celebrating but then Nathan’s on the ground and having some kind of fit, seems fairly out of it. His back was spasming, wasn’t taking care of it properly during the challenge.
But he’s fine, had a rest, had some food and a sports drink and he’s all good again.

Then Ajay’s there to tell the girls they’ve won the $10,000!
Holly can’t wait to get home to start doing some good with the money.
Ajay says they may be the lightest in the competition, but they’ve proven today they’re one of the strongest! Holly grins and flexes her muscles.
And carries on giggling and grinning while Mel looks a little embarassed. That’s what sisters are for, Mel!

Mel’s very happy though. It’s proven that the sisters cooperating and working as a team means they can kick butt!

Shannan and Michelle rock up and wondering what’s happened this time.
Michelle boggles at the description of the challenge. “This sounds crazy, I love it!”
Michelle’s wondering who on their team would have both the brains and brawn to do it. Mel says it was really hard carrying all those tins… but we did it, we won!

Michelle can’t quite believe the girls didn’t argue once during the approximately two hours it took them!
She says they’re very different girls today. It’s a turning point for them to see what they’re capable of together.
Holly tells us being on the show for her wasn’t just about losing weight it was also about regaining the friendship of her sister. And now Mel knows that Holly can be there for her when she needs her.

Michelle says it’s good to see some chicks winning for once, being a chick herself!
Nathan says it’s fantastic, he loves getting beaten! Michelle starts poking at him.
Nathan tells us that it doesn’t matter that they’re girls and they beat him, it was that people weren’t congratulating Holly and Mel for winning, they were being congratulated for beating Nathan and Andrew.
Which is a fair complaint… if Holly and Mel had made it. Get over it, dude!

Shannan’s team is going to be doing one of those old favourite workouts. They’re getting some backpacks out and shoving a bunch of weights in them to recreate how much they used to weigh.
Julie’s amazed at how heavy her backpack full of flab is. She can barely believe she used to be carrying that much around.
They also have barbells with the weights, carrying them across their shoulders.

Amanda’s struggling on the treadmill. She tries grabbing the handles but Shannan’s having none of it! No handles in real life, she says he told her.
Shannan stands on the front of the treadmill urging her on. Then she starts screaming and hollering which I suspect doesn’t really help her get it done.
She wonders how she’s going to feel once she’s lost 50kg.. or her goal weight of 90kg!

Shannan asks them if they now see how hard it was for them to just exist before. No wonder they felt slow and tired all the time!
Now they get to drop the weights off and go back to their lighter selves!
Amanda struggles even getting the weight off her back so Meaghan has to give her a hand. Lots of little friendly touches between contestants you notice when the producers aren’t throwing their angrypants bits at us, isn’t there?

Michelle’s team… are also recreating a past training session. Back on Fitzroy Island they had to lug a bunch of tires and logs and sandbags and a rope and a pallet. They put one item at a time on the pallet and drag it up the hill with the rope.
But they’re being split into other couples for a change. Andrew and Sammy are combined, though Andrew can only cheer Sammy on as his leg is still bung.
Mel and Tiffany are powering through it like crazy.
Holly and Bob are together and Michelle says they’re a great combo – Holly pushes Bob along and feels like she’s helping while Bob just keeps her calm and keeps powering along.

Sammy’s is about empowerment. She doesn’t need anyone else to be capable of this stuff.
Cameron’s with Nathan but I guess Nathan’s out of strenuous activity as Cam’s having to trudge up the hill.
Sammy’s amazed at how far she’s come since Fitzroy. She couldn’t even walk up the hill there, now she’s running up. It was easier than she thought it’d be.

Meanwhile Tiffany’s goofing off, carrying the tire down above her head and laughing. Halfway down she stops and does some squats with it. Sammy replicates the feat, but with a log!

Now it’s lunchtime for the Straw Food people.
Julie’s made a “curry slurry” for Cameron. Shannan thinks it smells quite a lot!
He wants to make sure they’re getting all the nutrition they need and so on.
Most of them aren’t thrilled about the straw food, because they have to think about it a lot.
Shannan says the best thing about being in the house is that they have time to think about it. In the real world, most people are time poor.

Then Amanda asks, I’m sure without any prompting from the producer folk, if the meal replacement shakes and bars should be tried if they don’t have time?
Shannan says that the important thing is to work them into your overall nutrition, the same as you would with all your other food.
Shannan tells us there’s no substitute for real food, long term. But sometimes you’re in a rush.

He tells the contestants the place where people go wrong is they have a meal replacement in the morning and rush off to work then get to work and think they’ve not had breakfast and scoff something then.
The most important part is to also remember not to skip meals because if you don’t eat then your metabolism slows down…

Walking into the Weigh-In room Bob makes mention of a foot injury. Not heard anything about that prior to now!

Waiting for the weigh-in, Amanda looks fairly relaxed. Sean looks… uncomfortable. Extremely uncomfortable, in fact.
Amanda and Sean are then told that they won’t face elimination on Monday… but they will get a vote. Cue looks of consternation and surprise from the other contestants… and me.
I see why they did it – to give more power to Shannan’s team. But, well, Shannan could just have kept his fatties in the comp longer, couldn’t he!

Nathan and Andrew took in nearly four and a half thousand calories at Temptation and are thus immune from elimination next week.
Nathan says immunity is good to have because if he has it then nobody else has it!
Then Ajay tells us about how Mel and Holly won the challenge… like 10 minutes ago on the show. Silly.
Mel says that winning a challenge was also one of her goals on the show!

Sean and Amanda get to weigh in first, of course. Both their losses are since starting.
Sean: 103.8kg (28.7kg)
Amanda: 142.4kg (28kg)
Combined:
Percentage:

Sean’s lost 3.1kg since last week, despite being at home for the week. At home he watched what he ate and exercised regularly. He and Ben went to some gym class and they managed to keep up with all the young skinny people. He says it was great!

Amanda’s lost 12.8kg since going home. Pizza was her greatest struggle.
Her and Stewart went for a drive one night. Hello, go for a walk, geez. Amanda was seeing pizza everywhere and eventually Stewart said they’d get her a pizza and Amanda said she doesn’t want it, she can’t have it!
Her and Stewart sabotage each other a lot. Stewart enables her a bit and I’d guess that rubs off on Stewart, too.
Andrew thinks it’s probably for the best she’s back without Stewart since there’s no excuses, now.

Nathan and Andrew are up first for the proper weigh in. Nathan says they shake hands on the way up because they know they’ve done everything they can.
Nathan: 115.7 (6.4kg)
Andrew: 116.7 (5.2kg)
Combined: 11.6kg
Percentage: 4.75%

Nathan’s back in the lead! He’s well pleased, too.
Ajay asks him if he feels he’s being a better brother to Andrew now. And he does, he feels like he’s making Andrew proud and being a role model again – and Andrew’s returned some learning of his own!
Andrew says he’s become more confident and wiser now. And now when he goes home he’ll be able to be a more active father. His family will benefit from this as much as he himself has.

Next up, Sharif and Teresa.
Sharif: 146.6kg (7.4
Teresa: 90.8kg (3.8kg)
Combined: 11.2kg
Percentage: 4.51%

“Holy shit!!” Teresa, after seeing Sharif’s number. At first she was just fairly “meh” because her own result was good but not great, then she looked over to see Sharif’s number. Very funny.
Sharif’s happy, he’s doing well. And he’d made a promise to his father in-law that he wouldn’t be a burden to his wife. Sharif says it’s bad to have one partner ending up relying on the other.

Bob and Tiffany’s turn now. Ajay asks him how much he expects to have lost this week and Bob thinks it won’t be much, maybe about 4kg.
Bob: 126.4kg (8.7kg)
Tiffany: 90.4kg (4.8kg)
Combined: 13.5kg
Percentage: 5.86%

Everyone’s stunned by Bob’s result but then they grin and some do the silent clapping thing. Tiffany’s amazed and says Bob’s an inspiration. She can’t think of anyone better to help her, encourage her and inspire her.
He loves her and she loves him and they’re doing it for their families.
Never seen a better set of in-laws. Never!
Bob says to us that he’d’ve never thought having Tiffany in his life would end up saving it.

Holly and Mel need at least 8.7kg to stay above the line. That’ll be a challenge. Mel says they’re happy so long as they both get into the 80s!
Mel: 87.5kg (2.8kg)
Holly: 88.1kg (3.3kg)
Combined: 6.1kg
Percentage: 3.36%

Not enough to guarantee a spot above the Yellow Line but both seem really happy and giggly anyway. They’re in the 80s!
Ajay asks them if they’ve done everything they can this week and Holly says she’s not going to lie – her and Mel have wanted to go home.
Cue “stunned” looks from the other contestants. Come on, you’re really shocked? Really? Pfft.

Cameron shakes his head after the ad break. Holly says there’s people there who need this more than themselves.
They needed and wanted to be there, but it’s different now. They’ve not got so far to go now, whereas there’s other contestants who have a heap to go.
Sammy seems fairly unimpressed in the side interview bit.
Ajay asks if they want to go home and Holly says yes, they do want to go home.

Mel says they had a long chat last night and decided to sleep on it. They woke in the morning and there wasn’t any words needed, they both knew they wanted to go.
Holly admits they probably didn’t do as much work as they could’ve because she was kinda hoping her and Mel would be below the Line.
Nathan thinks they must’ve been thinking they’ve won some money and are now getting out ASAP.

Holly tells Ajay that she feels it’d be unfair to stay with their hearts not in it while other’s still need to stay. She tells us there’s more at home that they want to get home to.
Ajay asks Mel if she wants to go home and Mel says she does. She wants to get back to the people she loves. But she’s sure her and Holly can get it done on the outside now.

Mel says she’s not quitting, after being prodded by Ajay. Mel says nothing will change when they get out, she’s coming back looking better than Michelle at the finale! Sammy grins and laughs.
Nathan just shakes his head and after prodding by Ajay he says he thinks they’re quitting.
Nathan tells us that he feels it’s disrespectful and rude to the other people who applied for the show to say they want to go home because they feel they’ve gotten what they needed out of it. Seems a pretty fair reason to leave to me.

Holly starts in and says that their journey doesn’t end there, nor does their weightloss. Mel tries to shut her up but she keeps going and says the bit you’ve seen from the ads where she says to Nathan that he’s just scared he’ll fall below the Yellow Line and be gone due to the weakened team alliance! And Nathan says yes, but that’s why he’s not falling below the Yellow Line!

Then we get a recap of Mel from the first weigh-in, saying Holly used to tease her and it might take 12-13 years for her to forgive her!
Holly thinks they’ve repaired their relationship and Holly says Mel is hugging her voluntarily, now!
Mel says she’s forgiven Holly. Being there has taught them so much. She didn’t think it could or would help them but now she knows that she wants Holly in her life, and needs her in her life. And if that’s going to happen, Mel has to forgive her. And it was just a small section of their lives and now they’ve got 60-70 years to annoy each other, now! Holly says she can’t wait to be best friends for the rest of their lives.
Then Mel says, “I love you. I really really do love you.” Holly throws herself into Mel’s arms and mumbles she loves her too!

Excuse me, I have something in my eye!

That’s the bit Sammy and Tiffany were crying at on the ad.

Then Mel says to Holly, “Get back on your scale, bitch!” Holly laughs and crosses back over.
Sammy tells us they’ve obviously got a lot out of their journey.

Meaghan and Julie need at least 6.8kg to stay above Holly and Mel. That won’t guarantee their safety but it will at least mean the worst is they’ll be below with Holly and Mel.
Meaghan: 91.2kg (2.7kg)
Julie: 102.9kg (3.5kg)
Combined: 6.2kg
Percentage: 3.1%

Meaghan’s baffled as she did everything right food-wise and she did double the exercise!
They’re now below the Line. Holly and Mel are still above and they look pretty worried about it, too!
Meaghan says her and Julie work so bloody hard but they never really get the results.
She’s not sure they’ll be going home. If they’re below the Line with Holly and Mel they might be safe because they want to go. But if it’s Sam and Cam (yet to weigh in), then Meaghan’s worried about the team alliance.

Cam and Sam need 8.2kg to get above Holly and Mel. Meaghan’s praying for them. As are Holly and Mel!
Sam: 97.3kg (4.2kg)
Cam: 137.2kg (4.9kg)
Combined: 9.1kg
Percentage: 3.74%

Oh yeah, there was an ad break before the number was revealed. Are you surprised? Because I wasn’t.
Holly and Mel both look visibly relieved.

Holly and Mel are now below the Yellow Line with Meaghan and Julie.
“And I’m under 100!” – Sammy. Her and Michelle had chatted about it and the last time Sam would have been under was her 16th birthday. Jeepers!

… and yes, Bob is again the Biggest Loser of the week! That’s 4 times out of 5 so far.
Teresa tells us that Bob did 8 hours on the treadmill one day. “Who does that? … Bob!”

Yeah yeah, tense wait to see who’ll go. Come on, they surely won’t vote out the “Nothing” holding bracelet wearer and their Mum over two girls who want to go home anyway. You probably don’t even really need to watch tomorrow night. But it’ll be a tearjerker, so if that’s your thing…

Tomorrow night Holly and Mel get a helpful suggestion from Nathan, “Save everyone the trouble and walk out the door!”
But will a surprise visitor to Holly and Mel change their minds?
*shakes magic 8 ball*
“All signs point to the ‘surprise visitor’ being lame!”
Hmm, kay. Thanks.
