TBL Australia 4×25: Brothers versus The Others. No, you’re not reading a recap of Lost.

Previously on The Biggest Loser Holly and Mel experienced “pain” at the hands of the “mighty” Emazon.

And the Challenge once again demonstrated Nathan’s dominance of the game as the boys won yet again!

Tonight the “others” team has no access to their trainer or any equipment for the Last Chance Training while Nathan and Andrew can continue to train with Michelle in the gym if they like. Will the difference tell on the scales or can the Others beat the brothers?

But first, a recap of what happened on Friday night. I guess for the people who only watch each Sunday, this would be useful. For the rest of us this is REALLY FREAKING BORING.

Now it’s finally time for Michelle and Shannan to arrive. Shannan counts heads first thing, just to make sure nobody got eliminated.
Shannan’s supersized team are a bit nervous, both because they had to tell him they didn’t win the challenge and also that they wouldn’t get to train with him till Weigh-In.
Shannan’s a bit worried about them now, so he cheats a tiny bit and consults with them about what they know to do. They know they need to do cardio, sprints, work every muscle group, etc. Shannan is well pleased!

Then he asks if everyone’s been training and everyone’s been pulling their weight. They all say they have but Shannan asks Holly if she’s still sleeping in and she says no! But Meaghan tells us that she is, indeed, still sleeping in!
Holly looks pretty upset and Shannan says that’s probably why nobody said anything about her not pulling her weight.
Holly tells us she’s been feeling a bit down over the last few days and she guesses Shannan picked up on that somehow. Shannan’s been teaching them to stick together and be true to their training teams… but their team is with Nathan and Andrew, not Shannan’s team.

Michelle has her boys off for Last Chance. They’re doing a circuit, over and over and over, in 15 minutes. Each time you finish a circuit you get a little cone and put it on the ground to count with.
Michelle gives Nathan a high five, then Andrew a high five then Nathan offers his hand to Andrew and Andrew gives him a soft slap upside the head. “Oooh, it’s on!” – Michelle

Then we get a recap of them being put into the Brothers v the Others position.
Then we get to the end of the training session and Nathan’s won again!
Andrew offers him his hand in congratulations and gets a slap back from Nathan!

Michelle has the boys aside for “the serious talk” as Nathan calls it. He admits to Michelle that he’s scared they might be going home and Andrew agrees, says you’d be silly not to be scared.
But they’ve done all they can in terms of exercise and nutrition and they don’t have any regrets, don’t feel guilty about anything.
Michelle says that she’s trained a lot of people in her time and she’s never seen anything quite like the two of them. Andrew says it feels good to have someone be proud of them. Nobody has ever much been proud of them so it’s good to know Michelle appreciates the hard work.
Then Michelle tells them it’ll all be fine, it’s been a good week and she’s enjoyed every minute of it! They’re just too good to go home, she tells us. She needs them to stay.

Then the Others head out to the oval for their training… but Shannan’s there. Did somebody double book?
Ahh but Shannan’s playing by the rules, he just wants to check up on Holly. She’s in a fragile mental state and Shannan says she’s at breaking point.
Holly tells him that she can’t even find the motivation to get out of bed in the morning. “I just don’t care.” – Holly. :-/

Ben, Sean, Meaghan and Julie sat down last night and worked out a circuit for them all to do out on the oval. It’s all very well organised. Sean’s checking on everyone’s heart rate and Tiffany says it was a bit like Shannan’s team was training Michelle’s team.
Holly says everyone was very excited… except for her!
Sharif’s concerned that not everyone is putting in as much work as they could be. Even though he and Teresa have immunity, they’re still putting in a bunch of work because everyone else is depending on them.
Meaghan thinks Holly feels she’s safe and thus doesn’t care too much about putting in the effort.

Nathan and Andrew are snacking and chatting about their plans. They’ve done all they can personally but also encouraged people to not exercise. Holly and Mel were easy, especially as Holly’s not motivated anyway. Cam and Sam were easy marks as well.
They’ve apparently had words with the rest of their training team as well, telling them that they need not do the best they can, they will be safe, they won’t be going home.

Then they get together with Holly and Mel to check they’re still getting a hand from them.
Holly says that if the worst happens and the boys don’t win then Michelle’s team will be sticking together to keep everyone in the game and knock Shannan’s team out.
Holly tells us she hasn’t been working out as much as she would’ve been. She tells the boys that she doesn’t want to sabotage herself, but she also wants to help them… Not so much to help them but to help keep Holly and Mel in the game. They’ve made a bit of an alliance thing it seems.
Holly is there to back them up, Holly and Mel play with their brains and the boys play with their… brawns? I swear she said balls. I’ve been told it’s brawns…

Holly and Mel are safe, then. As Andrew says, they’ll need someone to beat at the finale and they seem like good contenders!

Ben and Sean get the team together for a bit of a chinwag. They’re a bit frustrated that not everyone has been working as hard as they can.
They tell everyone that they want to be sure everyone is “pulling in the right direction”. They’re worried “someone” may be siding with Nathan and Andrew. What they apparently don’t realise is that their actions could mean Ben and Sean go.
I’m pretty sure they’re all well aware of that!
Cam says that they haven’t done anything that could jeopardise anything.
Bob says that they’re doing their best and the brothers also have to do their best if they want to win.

Ben tells us that they’d called the meeting but it was pretty much pointed at Holly.
Ben asks them if there’s anyone who doesn’t want to be there and Holly guesses, correctly, that they’re talking about her!
Cam tells Ben that Holly hasn’t changed. It’s no different to how she works out any other week. Teresa then gets all riled up about how if the brothers win they could vote out one couple, just like that. “Nothing is worth aligning yourself with someone like that!”

What, someone who’s playing the game as the rules dictate? Shut up you fool. Holly and Mel are doing what they need to do, if they’re even throwing it this week. Wonder if an apology will be forthcoming if Holly and Mel do better than some of the others…

Won’t be holding my breath!

Then Nathan and Andrew conveniently wander in to interrupt the meeting. The Others don’t want the Brothers to know that there’s tension in the ranks.
Nathan tells the Others after Ben and Sean have left that he’s not asked anyone to do anything. No, he’s just asked them to NOT do anything. Heh.

Sean’s very nervous. He’s never been as nervous before in the game!
Ben feels like they need to put in a good number this week because they’ve been leading the group and they’ve pointed the finger so if they get a poor result? They’re going to look pretty silly!

Ajay has a… teal? Crinkly dress. Thing. It looks pretty! But I’m not sure what colour to call it… Emerald-ish?

Blah blah, recap. If Nathan and Andrew win they can vote out any of the Others, except Teresa and Sharif who’ve got immunity.
If they lose, they will be “facing elimination”. Ajay elaborates – if the other six couples win, they’re all safe for another week.
Which means this week’s elimination won’t be between two couples, it’ll be between two brothers. With only one of them going home.
Ouch, man. That’s really harsh!
Nathan’s really worried because he knows he’d be sent home because Andrew’s injured so it makes sense to keep him in the game and get rid of Nathan who wins damn near every challenge!

Both boys are very nervous as they get on the scales.

Nathan: 122.1kg (5kg)
Andrew: 121.9kg (7.6kg)
Combined: 12.6kg
Percentage: 4.91%

Andrew’s finally beaten his brother and nobody is happier for him than Nathan! Such a sweet couple…
Andrew tells Ajay he’s worried that if one of them leaves they won’t have a benchmark to compete against anymore.

First of The Others will be Meaghan and Julie!
Julie thinks they’ll need about 10.5kg combined to top the boys.

Meaghan: 93.9kg (4.5kg)
Julie: 106.4kg (3.8kg)
Combined: 8.3kg
Percentage: 3.98%

Not enough to top the boys but very impressive results, given their relatively low weights at this stage.
Teresa’s worried and characterises their loss as “wasn’t that good”, though they worked hard so she can’t be too disappointed.
May want to bear that in mind for a little bit later…

Nathan’s breathing a big sigh of relief because the Others are a percentage point behind.
Meaghan’s a little disappointed because she wanted herself and her Mum to put in a good result for the team.

Ben and Sean will need to lose at least 14.9kg to put the team ahead of Nathan and Andrew. That’s an incredibly hard ask!!

Ben: 129.7kg (8.5kg)
Sean: 106.9kg (8.8kg)
Combined: 17.3kg
Percentage: 6.81%

Even Nathan and Andrew are grinning and looking on in disbelief. Nathan mouths “Holy shit!” and Mel also says “Shit!”
Easy, says Sean!
Nobody was expecting such a huge result with all the stress heaped on them this week.

The team’s averaged loss is now 5.4%, ahead of Nathan and Andrew’s 4.91%.

Two down, four to go, says Nathan. They still have a shot!

Cam and Sam will need at least 10.1kg to stay ahead of the brothers. Bob thinks that’ll be a challenge for them, a bit difficult. Meaghan doesn’t think they have it in them this week. Nathan really doesn’t want them to make the weight, but he figures they could probably manage it.
I still don’t know how Sam is almost down to 100kg, she looks so much chunkier.

Cam: 142.1kg (5.2kg)
Sam: 101.5kg (5kg)
Combined: 10.2kg
Percentage: 4.02%

Enough, by 100 grams. The team average is 4.94% now. It’s going to be close!
They did a tiny bit better than Meaghan and Julie.

Teresa and Sharif’s turn. They’re safe no matter what, apparently. Ajay says nothing about what happens if they gain weight.
12.8kg is the figure they need to stay ahead. Sharif’s a big guy but Teresa’s already getting the weight quite a ways down…

Sharif: 154kg (7.2kg)
Teresa: 94.6kg (6.5kg)
Combined: 13.7kg
Percentage: 5.22%

“Hey, the bloody diary is correct!” Teresa exclaims. What bloody diary?
“Damn!” Teresa. “Damn.” Nathan. Heh.

Team’s percentage is now 5.01%.

Holly and Mel will need 8.7kg between them to stay ahead of Nathan and Andrew. “Oh crap, that’s easy.” Nathan mutters to Andrew.
Everyone’s worried that Holly won’t have dropped enough, they’re all sure Mel’s worked really hard.

Mel: 90.3kg (3.1kg)
Holly: 91.4kg (6.1kg)
Combined: 9.2kg
Percentage: 4.82%

Holly is shocked and immediately bursts into tears. Mel seems pleased by her result… and then she sees Holly’s and she’s amazed. There’s also various “OH MY GOD” type comments from the peanut gallery.
They have brought the team’s average down to 4.97%, but the team is still ahead.
Holly whispers a sorry to the boys.
That loss is significantly better than Meaghan and Julie and Cam and Sam’s result and not far behind Sharif and Teresa – and it’s almost entirely off the efforts of Holly.
Can we stop with the hatred now?

Holly’s very upset because she’s got a good friendship with the boys now and one of them might be going home now. After she gets off the stand she goes immediately to hug Nathan and Andrew before returning to her team. Awwww.

Good god, what IS Natalie Bassingthwaite wearing? Some weird purple ruffled number. Perhaps Ajay’s stylist has gone to Dance this year? Hmm.

Just Bob and Tiffany are left to weigh in. Bob and Tiffany are always pulling good numbers, Bob’s won Biggest Loser honours every week this year.
11.2kg is all they need. Bob himself could almost do that! So the Others are suddenly much less concerned and the Brothers are packing it!

Bob: 135.1kg (5.8kg)
Tiffany: 95.2kg (4.3kg)
Combined: 10.1kg
Percentage: 4.2%

Nathan and Andrew are frantically doing sums while the numbers come up. They finally realise they’re only adding up to 10.1kg and they go, as one, “It’s not enough!” Big hugs, awww!
Andrew says they’ve won again, they reign supreme, they want to get rid of them and they can’t!

Ben and Sean are very upset. Sean’s in tears… but he’s this week’s Biggest Loser! And will probably get sent home because of it.

Should also point out that Holly lost more weight than either Bob or Tiffany and the sisters got a higher percentage, as well. Can we stop the hatred NOW?!

No? Okay. Sigh.

Nathan and Andrew are stoked. They’ve got control of the elimination and can get rid of whoever they want.
Nathan’s happy it all worked out the way it did. “We won.”

Tomorrow night, will Nathan and Andrew shock the world by voting out someone who isn’t the biggest threat other than them?
No, of course they won’t. Ben and Sean will be going home.

… okay, maybe Bob and Tiffany will get the nod, since Bob’s a big threat and Tiffany has the gold bracelet…

But no, Ben and Sean. Byebye.
