TBL Australia 4×23: Real badasses don’t need a dank, dimly lit tunnel to look badass…

Previously on The Biggest Loser, Amanda and Stewart got sent home and now Nathan and Andrew are facing off against all the rest of the contestants.

Tonight, Holly and Mel give us another lesson on how to win friends and influence people!
Or, alternately, Teresa and Sharif begin showing how much a pair of ducks they are. You decide.

Also, Emazon arrives tonight. Woooo.

Michelle and Shannan do their typical jog up to Fat Camp. Shannan is all gentlemanly and opens the door for Michelle. Clearly he’s a total git to women!

Nathan and Andrew get to have a chat with Michelle first. Michelle is totally thrilled about Nathan having seen his family.
Then we get more replay footage of his kids getting hugged and whatnot.
Michelle thinks Nathan’s in a good place now, his training will be bigger and better now.

Shannan comes in to his people. Teresa and Sharif look… a little apprehensive!
Holly fesses up to eating her one slice of pizza. Shannan looks a little mystified. He says to us that it’s crazy, she doesn’t want the power of the walk, she wants immunity!

Shannan’s quite surprised that Teresa and Sharif took immunity. They explain that they have to rely on everyone else but they didn’t want their fate decided by that.
Sharif and Teresa have defended their actions quite well, Shannan says. They knew how many calories they were having and how much work that entails. So it’s fine.

Shannan takes his supersized supersize crew to the big gym for a workout today.
Shannan reminds us that he and Michelle are great mates but they’re also very competitive with each other. So he’s going to make sure his people give it everything they’ve got!

Everyone’s really pushing hard. Sharif says it was important to him and Teresa that they show they’re not going to slack off just because they have immunity.
Teresa has major scary face during today’s workout. Plus lots of grunting and groaning.
Workouts are not attractive!

Shannan then has some statistics for them.
Nathan and Andrew, week one, they lost more than the average.
Week two? Lower than average.
Week three? Lower than average.
So statistically they should be good, so long as they put in the effort required.

Michelle’s got her boys into another competition. Big brother versus little brother!
They have these nifty Workout World Cardio Gym machines that count the repetitions you do of certain exercises on the machine. You pull cables out of the machine while pedalling continuously. It goes for 20mins in all and it’s all go-go-go, no breaks.
Nathan says he’s feeling great today, he’d been missing his family so much. That’s where the real pain is, not in some exercise!
Michelle can see that he’s got a lot of motivation today.

Nathan and Andrew are going very hard. Very similar numbers, even Michelle can’t believe how close it is. Andrew has caught up and gone past Nathan for a bit but Nathan keeps the intensity way up high.
Michelle is staring with a silly grin on her face at one point, just boggling at how hard they’re going.

And at the end? Andrew has pipped Nathan by a SINGLE repetition. 1104 reps versus 1105. Over 20 minutes of exercise and they kept almost exactly the same pace.
Michelle says they impress her every time.

So now they get a slightly strange reward. They get to go shopping with Michelle for their food! Michelle has a shiny black… RAV4?
Michelle’s still wandering around in her workout gear. Guess it’s a little chilly in the supermarket…

They pick up rolled oats. Michelle is pleased by that choice.
Cheese used to be one of Nathan’s big weaknesses, he says.

Chicken, steak? No, we’re on a budget!
Michelle says one of her favourite foods is… Kangaroo!
Kangaroo is super high in protein, super low in fat and low in calories, Michelle tells the boys.
Sorry Michelle. I still can’t eat Skippy!

Carrots are next on the list. They’re very cheap and you can cook them or eat them as snacks. They’re Michelle’s favourite snacks of all time, apparently. We really need to introduce her to chocolate!
$8.40 is what they end up spending, in total. Nathan says that it’s enough food for two grown men, exercising their backsides off, and they’re not going to be hungry at all.

And now it’s time for The Walk. *mentally tunes out for a bit*

While the others are off Walking, Shannan’s checking out how his team has been eating considering they’re on takeaway meals.
Sammy ordered beef skewers but they didn’t have any so she’s got some chicken with yoghurt on it. So Shannan’s showing them a handy tip – put it on a piece of paper towel and pat it to get the dressing off and soak up some of the fat.
Then Cameron has a big piece of fish… which he doesn’t know what sort of fish it is so Shannan’s a little irked. Cameron should have asked for a phone call to the shop to find out what sort of fish it is. “Knowledge is power!” Shannan tells them.
Julie says to us that Shannan was trying to teach Cameron to always make sure he knows what he’s eating, but Julie doesn’t think Cameron was paying much attention…
Shannan says it’s important to know exactly what sort of fish it is, how it’s cooked. Take the guesswork out of it and know you’re doing the best you can to lose weight!

Sharif and Teresa are still Walking. Ajay’s standing there with seriousface while standing on top of her “I AM NOT A MIDGET” box.
Ajay says the urns today contain things that can make them friends AND enemies. Oooh, dramatic!

Sharif is told to grab one of the disks. He decides to grab the one on the left and pulls it out of the water.
Sharif’s disk reads, “Choose one couple to experience pleasure.” PLEASUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUURE. HELIUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUM.
Ahem.
“While giving pleasure to one couple might win over new friends or secure existing friendships, it may not endear you to those who miss out.” It may not endear you to your wife either, Sharif!

But then Ajay looks at Teresa and tells her it’s her turn. “Huh?!” Then Sharif goes, “AWWWWWWWWWWWW!” With a bit of a grin on his face.

And of course on her disk is, “Choose one couple to experience pain.” She knows exactly who she’s going to give it to, already.

Everyone’s speculating on what it could be. “Just as long as it doesn’t affect me or my sister, it’s okay!” Holly says, tongue in cheek. Many of The Walks have ended up affecting them so it’s not an unreasonable hope!

Everyone has a bit of a giggle at someone getting to experience pleasure. Sharif says pleasure usually means day spa and pampering.
The easiest way to avoid any jealousies or whatnot would have been to give it to themselves… but they haven’t!
They’ve given it to someone who always works hard, someone who never complains… so they’re giving it to Julie. Who immediately bursts into tears, awww!
She admits to us that she got a huge shock that she was picked!

Julie just keeps saying thankyou! Thankyou! Lovely, thankyou!

Then Teresa’s gets revealed. Everyone looks more than a little uncomfortable now!
Tiffany’s worried they might be talking about torture. Err, yeah…

Teresa says they want to give it to someone who’ll learn the needed lesson from this, figuring it would be The Commando.
So they decided to give it to Holly and Mel. Which they had pretty much expected.
Mel says to us that they knew it’d be them, Teresa and Sharif don’t like them and the feeling is mutual!
Sharif says they don’t know what it is so if it’s really, really bad, they’re sorry. “No you’re not!” Mel says, quite cheerfully, all things considered!
“Well now because of you we’re going to go through pain together, thanks!” – Mel bitching out Holly. She thinks she wouldn’t be in that position but for Holly.
Sharif says it is actually Holly’s fault because he doesn’t think she’s changed since week one. Oh Sharif, you have such a surprise coming…

Holly says Teresa and Sharif don’t like her as a person, it’s got nothing to do with her supposedly not working hard enough.
“Suck it up and deal with it, sister.” – Sharif
“Don’t call me sister, I’m not your sister, mate.” – Holly

I was hanging out for someone else to say don’t call him mate, girlfriend. Don’t call her girlfriend, sister!
Just me? Okay…

Sharif and Teresa head in later to have a chat with Holly and Mel. They want to make sure the sisters have the full picture. Meanwhile Andrew and Sammy are sitting there uncomfortably after Mel accuses Teresa of not liking them. Teresa says she doesn’t dislike Mel, she dislikes Holly. Holly doesn’t work as hard as her and Sharif, apparently. Holly says it’s from their perspective. Yeah, but Teresa had the disk!
Teresa says (to us) everyone works so hard and they deserve to be there, so for Holly to sit around slacking off and making excuses, it’s not good.

Mel’s annoyed that she’s just got back from a week with The Commando and now it just feels like a personal attack against them, not a lesson.
Teresa says, “Doesn’t that show you something?”
Teresa won’t say what she’s thinking. She eventually says that it’s not Mel they’re doing it to, it’s Holly. Holly asks what her problem is.
Mel tells us that she doesn’t blame Holly for the situation they’re in. Maybe if she kept her mouth shut a little more they wouldn’t be in it. But she’ll be facing the pain right along with Mel, so it’s okay!

“All I can say is that it’s game on and I don’t care who I step on to get to where I need to be.” Holly talks to us to let us know that she’s a lot stronger than anyone gives her credit for and she’s going to prove it in how she handles this challenge.
Holly tells Sharif that it’s on. Sharif thinks she’s talking it up again and demands she proves them wrong on the scales. You’re a good one to talk, Sharif, you’re being outdone by most of the guys each week!

Meaghan and Julie get the pleasure now. I wouldn’t mind providing for Meaghan if they get rewarded again…
They get a one hour massage! A nice one, not a sports one. Julie asked to be sure!
Julie’s never had a massage before apparently.
Meaghan’s got a lot of knots in her shoulders apparently. And they’re naked! Naked ladies on my TV! Won’t somebody think of the children?
Julie asks Meaghan what she thinks Holly and Mel must be doing and Meaghan says if their pleasure really is pleasure, Holly and Mel’s pain must be real pain!

Holly and Mel, meanwhile, are in some dank dimly lit tunnel that leads to a pretty lame cage. They’re crapping themselves. Mel told us that!

“It is human nature to pick on the weak. You can’t escape it, people don’t realise they fight every single day of their lives. There’s no running away from it, you gotta stand toe to toe with it and pain is gonna be your best friend. You’ll rub shoulders with it, get to know it, understand it, know what it feels like. I am Emazon. I am here to bring these girls pain.”
If you can’t tell, that Was Emazon. She told us all this over footage of her running down the dank, dimly lit tunnel and footage of her punching and kicking a heavy bag. Because she’s well hard, don’t you know?
Mel and Holly are still petrified.
Muscly, fiery headed scary woman. Holly says she doesn’t look friendly at all, looks like she’s ready to start a fight.
Emazon says she doesn’t know anything about them, doesn’t know who they are in the house, doesn’t know anything about their past.
Oh please, she at least knows they’re capable of this workout or else they sure as hell wouldn’t be doing it. Insurance is a bitch, bitch!

She says when she walked into the cage, the girls were petrified but that’s nothing new for her. Apparently she’s been teaching people to fight for years. She fights and teaches people how to fight for themselves.

One of the girls will be inside the cage with Emazon. The other will be outside shifting a bunch of garbage. 40 gallon drums, big truck tires, wooden pallets, ropes and so on. Have to lift it up off the ground. Can’t roll it or something worse will happen to the person inside the cage.
The person outside has to move everything from one side to the other side before they can grab the key to unlock the padlock on the cage.
“Anything goes, no holds barred.” Yeah, right…

Holly looks a little nervous while Emazon’s strapping her hands up. She actually straps both Holly and Mel’s hands, even though only one will be in the cage…
Mel’s hoping it’ll be Holly taking the pain since Mel’s done The Commando before. It’s time for Holly to step up and be the big sister and protect her from the nasty lady!
Holly volunteers. Holly tells us there was no way she was going to let Mel face Emazon, she’s her little sister and she’s got to protect her. Awwww!

From the moment the cage closes, she’s stuck in there until Mel finishes moving stuff around.
Holly’s doing some boxing with Emazon, mixed in with some pushups/sprawling. Not unlike Mixed Martial Arts training then…
Emazon says Holly was fighting for something, she had pain she needed to work through. And she has a mean right hook!
Holly knows it was Sharif and Teresa had done this to her and she wanted to get back at them. That motivated her today.
There’s some light grappling inside the cage as well.

Mel’s started to scream in pain as she lugs things around. Managing to lift huge truck tires all by herself, very impressive, tires are really heavy!
Then she gets one caught on her hair. Ouch!
But she keeps going! “Hang on Hol!”
Mel struggles a lot with the last tire. “I believe in you!” – Holly while grappling with Emazon.
“When you truly love someone, you can feel that person’s pain!” – Emazon. Then she’s happy about Mel having cracked.
But Mel hasn’t cracked at all, she perseveres, slowly lifting the tire up a bit, walking a few steps, putting it down.
She’s getting frustrated though. She’s remembering all the bad crap that happened in her life and all the mean things Holly used to say and do.

Emazon’s not sympathetic to Mel’s tears, telling her the entire world doesn’t care about her crying!
Mel says there’s heaps of work for her and Holly still to do to become closer again, so she wasn’t going to give up. She knows you can stand up for yourself, stand your ground, etc.

Emazon says that the moment when Mel was screaming was the warrior in her coming out.
She finally finishes her shifting assignment and then gets the key to set her sister free!

Holly’s really proud of her sister, gives her a big hug. Holly feels like the strongest girl in the world right now and can take on anything or anyone!

Emazon says that they shouldn’t be afraid of the dark wolf that’s inside of them. They’ve got a title to win.

And there’s one thing they need to know before leaving. Nobody knows about Emazon. They’re to tell no one. And they’re not to cry or whinge about it, either!
Mel says she can rely on Holly and she’s proud of that and they’re not going to let anyone push them around anymore.

And the challenge tomorrow night involves balancing on a beam across a pool in a challenge that is sure to be completely safe. I mean, it’s not like anyone would ever get too competitive and injure themself, is it?
Hmmm.
