TBL Australia 4×13: Weigh-in time again, who will be below the dreaded Yellow Line?
Previously on The Biggest Loser… Meaghan and Julie are carrying a 2kg penalty into the weigh-in, Amanda’s off in hospital for a DVT and the challenge for the week pit brains and brawn in a treadmill battle… to the death!
Tonight, “If they want to be bitchy then it’s on!”
Weigh-in night, Amanda’s back from hospital, someone is going to hospital, high drama all round!
Speeds on the treadmill continue to increase while the remaining three struggle on.
How many grams of fat in a 25g scoop of vanilla ice cream?
A: 3g
B: 9g
C: 12g
Teresa, again, was correct, choosing A.
And Mel’s out. Holly’s in tears and now Mel is too.
Mel’s disappointed in herself, she wanted to get back on and keep going.
“I hate myself so much!” – Holly. She’s getting comforted by Tiffany and got a very perfunctory pat on the back from Jeda.
Olive oil contains the same amount of fat as butter?
A: True
B: False
C: Olive oil has no fat
B is correct. Both couples get this correct.
And Sharif is out! Very surprising, he’d barely started to jog!
Ben and Sean win and get their letters from Ajay, along with some “mad props” and such.
Jodi’s crying and saying it hurt because it wasn’t letters for her.
But Ajay says there’s an important decision to make before you read the letters.
They must now decide which of their fellow competitors can also read their letters from home.
Ben and Sean are leaning towards Jeda and Jodi due to them having small children, plus Holly and Mel who’re missing home a lot.
Their decision?
They’re giving the letters to… EVERYONE!
Coloured me surprised!
Jodi starts sobbing very loudly while most just crack a bit of a tear. Nathan tells Ben and Sean to stand tall and proud for it was a generous act!
Everyone pelts off into the house to read their letters. Cue weepy music!
Sean’s missus thinks about him all the time. And she’s very proud of him. Sean says doing it for himself and his family is a huge thing.
Ben’s not nervous about his, he’s got a letter from one of his kids. Apparently they’re just started swimming lessons, awww!
Ben’s going to put his above his bed. It’ll keep him going.
Andrew’s letter is from his partner as well and he’s on the verge of tears.
As is Nathan’s. And Nathan also breaks down a bit. “Blubber brothers strike again!”
Cameron’s wife is very direct and respects him for losing weight, apparently.
Sammy’s boyfriend (?) loves her heaps and wishes her the best, she’s his girl and his world. Awww!
Cameron’s crying while reading Sammy’s letter, too.
Jodi’s broken into tears before she’s even started reading. But she’s there for her kids! Cry cry cry. Her man is saying she needs to take care of herself for once.
Jeda’s letter is even more of a tearjerker. Though she’s not the fastest of readers.
Her man says he’s not been on the internet much, just banking… but he also finally went to Kayla’s site.
Jeda created a memorial website for the baby she lost via stillbirth. Her husband couldn’t bring himself to look at it before, but he finally did.
A friend found the website in question and I am going to link it… but I should warn you of a few things first.
It’s a private memorial. So don’t be a dick, even if you don’t like Jeda.
Also, there’s some fairly distressing pictures on the site. Including pictures of Kayla. So don’t go if such things will upset you.
If you still want to look, you can find the site here:

Stewart’s feeling a little lost without Amanda.
Amanda’s okay! She had a DVT, but it’s gone, so she’s gone back “home”. She walks down to the bedrooms and greets Stewart. Their new digs are a little more spartan than the Fitzroy Island units.
Stewart tells her they’ve got letters from home and Amanda is all, “OHHHH! OH MY GODDDD! OHHHH!” But no tears. Amanda’s letter is from her Mum, so no tears again. Ripped off!
Amanda and Stewart are then putting away some clean clothes when Amanda trips over on something and hurts her arm/shoulder. She hears a loud cracking noise and thus is in tears as they wheel her down to the ambulance. But she’s cheered up by everyone’s concern and the big burly boys lifting her on the ambulance trolley out the front door.
Shannan’s got his team off for their training for the day. It’s rough losing Amanda but they’ve still got to go hard.
And the one who has to go hardest of all is Stewart. He’s got to lose weight for two people, essentially, as Amanda’s been out of action with the DVT and now with the bung arm.
Julie’s doing well too though, Shannan says. She’s a new person this week.
They get to the end of their workout and Shannan says there’s 20 missing, Amanda’s, so they all starting counting up the 20 for Amanda. Awwww!
Michelle’s got her people doing circuit things. She’s leaning over (exposing her bra!) and telling Cameron to show them his determination, she wants him to stay positive!
Michelle thinks Cameron is bottling up a lot of stuff that he wants to talk about. But it keeps simmering around the edges.
Finally he cracks and tells Michelle that he’d rather she didn’t talk about his wife. “She probably won’t be there when I get back, that’s why.” Poor dude!
Michelle says Cameron thinks he’s dealt with the fact that he thinks his wife will leave, but he hasn’t. It’s still affecting him.
And after training Michelle and Shannan are sitting around chatting with all their people together. When Amanda waddles back in!
Her arms in a sling and Shannan cracks up and says she looks like a little bandaged bear. And she totally does!
Apparently she’s done some soft tissue damage to her shoulder, no bone problems or tendons or anything serious like that.
Shannan then has to take Amanda and Stewart aside for a serious chat. They’ve got to think about their kids and while they want to stay in the comp, Amanda’s health is ultimately more important.
Shannan says they’ve got some special rules that are being imposed by the medics and so on and they can’t be broken or bent. Presumably like John’s last season, though we don’t get details.
Eventually they head back to the group and Shannan announces that she’s staying and Amanda grins at them as they all, ALL, cheer and clap and a couple even get a little teary. Obviously Amanda’s a real house favourite.
The new weigh-in room is indeed the new big gym. And it’s all dressed up with huge posters of their previous hugeness!
Holly says her and Mel don’t want to go back to those two big heifers!
Ajay explains the whole weigh-in thing. Again.
And reminds us that Holly and Mel have a double vote.
Jodi thinks Holly’s too immature for the responsibility. Which is very pot-meet-kettle of her, but what can you do? Shout at the TV?
Andrew and Nathan have Immunity so this is not exactly nervewracking for them!
Sharif and Teresa are up first.
Sharif: 164.3kg (-4kg)
Teresa: 103.1kg (-4.2kg)
Combined: -8.2kg
Percentage: -2.98%
Teresa seperated from her husband not long before coming on the show and Ajay asks how determined she is to find love and Teresa says she’s not looking for love at all, she’s doing it for her. But Shannan says she’ll be hot once she gets out and they’ll be all over her!
Nathan and Andrew are still hoping for good numbers anyway.
Nathan: 130.5kg (-4.9kg)
Andrew: 132kg (-4kg)
Combined: -8.9kg
Percentage: -3.28%
Nathan says he’s most definitely a different person to the one who walked in a couple of weeks ago.
And he’s a better role model for his little brother now, too. Helping to push each other along.
Andrew thinks Nathan’s a little hard on himself at times.
Ben and Sean are the next victims!
Ben: 140.9kg (-5.1kg)
Sean: 120.1kg (-4.9kg)
Combined: (-10kg)
Percentage: -3.69%
They’re now in first place.
Mum’s been nagging Ben to lose weight for years, he’s been heavy his whole life. But his Mum never caught him at a time when he himself wanted to lose weight.
Mel and Holly’s turn now!
Mel: 95.8kg (-2.7kg)
Holly: 98.7kg (-3.2kg)
Combined: -5.9kg
Percentage: -2.94%
Holly is ecstatic at being under 100kg for the first time in a while. So she’s feeling euphoric!
Mel’s also really happy by her number, exclaiming, “Holy shit!” Before apologising to everyone for the profanity.
Holly says her and Mel are getting closer, Mel has even, voluntarily, let her hug her!
In an aside Mel says she’s seeing a different Holly now, one she’s starting to like. Now she’s under 100kg she saw a smile she’s not seen in ages.
Meaghan and Julie are next – they have 2kg penalty. Meaghan also has the “Nothing” bracelet.
Meaghan: 100.3kg (-3kg)
Julie: 112.6kg (-4.4kg)
Combined: -5.4kg (after penalty)
Percentage: -2.45%
They’re now at the bottom of the leaderboard. Boooo, stupid penalties!
Julie wants to look a bit more special before going home. Meaghan says seeing her Mum and Dad happy again would be something she’d give anything up for!
Jedi are next! They’re pretty sure they’ll be okay, especially seeing how some of the other couples have been eating and working out.
Jeda: 99.3kg (-2.1kg)
Jodi: 112.5kg (-1.5kg)
Combined: -3.6kg
Percentage: -1.67%
They’re shocked and don’t understand and Jeda ensures us it’s the honest truth. If bitching and moaning got it done, ladies, you wouldn’t need the show!
Jodi says, “Look at me! I’m not ready to go home!”
Jeda says it’s not fair because they worked so much harder than everyone else. Jodi’s angry, upset, scared and worried that they’re going home!
Holly says there’s no way the girls are as sweet as they’re making themselves out to be (and those of us at home ought to know that!), they can be bitchy and they’re ready to play. “And if they want to be that way then it’s on!”
Cameron and Sammy’s turn.
Cameron and Sammy both have trouble with steps. You’d think that might have been a sign to do something earlier…
Cameron: 150.7 (-3.7kg)
Sammy: 109.3 (-3.5kg)
Combined: -7.2kg
Percentage: -2.69%
Cameron’s disappointed at getting 3.7kg at his size, he thinks he ought to do at least 5kg.
Apparently he missed his daughter’s wedding to be on the show. HER WEDDING. Good lord.
Ajay asks him how hard that was and Cameron breaks down and sobs, making his body wobble like a bowl full of jelly. It’s Sad Santa!
Apparently his daughter wanted him there so that he can cuddle her eventual kids, which will be his grandkids.
Jodi and Jeda are now in 7th. If Bob and Tiffany OR Amanda and Stewart lose more than them, they’ll definitely be facing elimination.
And next up is Bob and Tiffany. Bob, last week’s Biggest Loser!
They’ll need at least 6.5kg between them to beat Meaghan and Julie and stay above the Yellow Line.
Bob’s a fair danger of doing it by himself, I’d say!
Bob: 147.4kg (-7.6kg)
Tiffany: 103.9kg (-3kg)
Combined: -10.6kg
Percentage: -4.05%
Making them, again, in first place this week with only one couple to go!
Bob’s lost 20kg already, which is very good for this early!
Ajay asks if he thinks he’s becoming a big threat. Bob says he hopes that, in the same way they do, his losses are inspiring the others rather than making them think threat. “He’s a big teddybear, not a threat!” – Tiffany, with a giggle.
Jodi and Jeda are now below the Yellow Line. And they look absolutely filthy!
Stewart and Amanda are last up, needing to lose 7.2kg to stay above the line and force Meaghan and Julie below it.
Stewart: 123.5kg (-5.2kg)
Amanda: 155.9kg (-5.8kg)
Combined: -11kg
Percentage: -3.79%
Amanda is stunned at her loss, as well she should be since it was only a partial week she participated in!
Amanda’s a bit upset because Jodi and Jeda worked really hard and Stewart says they feel like they’re taking their chance away.
Meaghan and Julie and Jodi and Jeda will now be facing elimination tomorrow night.
However, if Meaghan gets eliminated she’ll have to pass the “Nothing” bracelet on to another contestant. Meaghan’s hopeful it will help them through.
Jodi says reality has sunk in and it feels like a game now and it’s their lives that are being played with!
What, like when you voted out the bigger threat last week? Suck it up!
Holly and Mel have a double vote tonight and things look like they’re going to get heated at eliminations. Fun fun fun, people!
