TBL Australia 4×12: I know you’re hurtin’, Amanda, but it seemed like you were learnin’…

Previously on The Biggest Loser Nathan and Andrew went for a Walk.

Sadly, they came back again.
Holly and Mel received a double strength vote for next week’s elimination as a result.
Also, poor Amanda has been taken off to hospital to have a possible DVT investigated. Will she be allowed to stay on?

Stewart conveniently wakes up just as the camera guy is ready to film him. And film him patting her pillow. Amanda’s still in hospital, obviously!

Michelle asks her peeps what happened with The Walk.
Holly’s sitting next to Nathan and Mel’s next to Andrew. Oooh, etc.
Nathan says they chose Mel and Holly to keep the extra power within the training team since they’re already behind by one couple with Tania and Ramses being sent home.

Shannan’s pleased at the result of The Walk being something positive in a double vote. And he’s not surprised the boys picked someone on their own team. He says Michelle would kill them otherwise!

Michelle says that spin bikes are a great way to train, especially at the size these guys are. It’s a good way to burn stacks of calories.
Cameron’s trying to pike out of the exercise. Leaning back on the bike, thinking that he’s going faster. Michelle’s having none of it and won’t let him off till his heart rate hits 150.
Michelle lets the rest of the team sit down at one point but the team all agree to keep going so long as Cameron keeps going.
Cameron finally gets there and Michelle tells him he can do more than he thinks he can.
In an aside Cameron says he still doesn’t think he can do more than he thinks he can. Oookay…

Shannan’s doing some burst training again today. Go hard for 20 seconds then take a break.
Shannan notices that Julie’s got a smile on her face in training today because she finally got it. And she needs to make up for the 2kg penalty.
Training was done but for Ben and Sean. Apparently they slept in, tsk tsk tsk!

Shannan has them doing some boxing with pushups in between to teach them a lesson. Ben says he’ll never be sleeping in ever again!
Message received, Shannan!

Everyone heads outside to see a row of treadmills with Ajay standing in front of them in a flippyflappy blue dress as it’s a bit breezy out on the parade ground today!

One of the keys of losing weight and staying healthy is knowing your nutrition.
Brains and brawn again. Brain gets a question right, everything’s good. Brain gets a question wrong, the treadmill speeds up by 1km/h.
Last still on the treadmill wins… and that couple will get letters from home.

Cue lots of tears.
Jeda misses her little ones so much. Sean starts crying, too.
Nathan and Andrew turn mushy as well. Hello, you have your brother right there!

Then Ajay says that since Amanda is still in hospital, Stewart won’t be able to compete today.
Mel’s decided she’ll need to be the stamina, Holly be the brains.
Sharif’s the runner, Teresa (aka Rainman) will be the brain.

Treadmills start at 1km/h and they all have a safety cord attached. Safety cord comes out, game over man!

First question: If you’re at a party and on a diet, you should snack on.
A: brie cheese on crackers
B: celery sticks with hommus
C: cocktail frankfurts

Everyone answers B which is correct!

Eggs increase your chance of heart disease?
A: True
B: False
C: Not if eaten with bacon

C! C! C!!!
Most pick B which is of course correct. Bob answered A so Tiffany is now on 2km/h which is not so bad!

The lowest calorie choice at the movie candy bar would be?
A: 115g of popcorn
B: 100g of lollies
C: A choc top

Most pick A, Bob picked C. C is correct! Everyone goes up by 1km/h bringing them all level.
Bob has a bit of a laugh in an aside. He wonders what everyone will say when they find out he has no idea what a choc top is!

What percentage of the Australian population over 25 is overweight or obese?
A: 15%
B: 60%
C: 90%

Oh man, I really hope it’s not C. It should be B. But we have to wait till after the ads to find out so I think I’ll go eat some more candy…

Maybe it is C after all!

Interestingly they’re not even all over 25 themselves.
Bob answers C again, everyone else answers B. B is of course correct.

Ajay says it may interest them to know that in June of 2008 Australia overtook America as the most overweight nation. Jeda seems impressed!
Tiffany’s now up to 3km/h. Ouch!

Toasting bread changes its calorie content?
A: True
B: False
C: Bread has no calories

Teresa answered A by mistake, everyone else answers B which is correct.

If you were trying to lose weight what would be the best choice from a calorie perspective?
A: 30g of macadamia nuts
B: 30g of raw peanuts
C: 30 of walnuts

B is correct.
Some of them are starting to get a bit quick. Tiffany’s have to jog already. Meaghan’s up to a very slow jog.
Tiffany says she can’t hang in there much longer. Even if Bob keeps getting them right, she doesn’t have much longer… and then she knocked out the cord with her hand. Accidentally, she claims.

So the greys are sitting with Stewart.
Meaghan and Julie also drop out which they’re okay with since it might just make them more emotional anyway.

How many calories in a 200g carton of reduced fat yoghurt?
A: 10 calories
B: 55 calories
C: 145 calories

Teresa answered C which is correct, everyone else was wrong.
Holly’s getting a bit distraught at just standing around while Mel slogs it out.

Jeda’s finally out and bursts into tears. Good god it’s been two weeks, get a hold of yourself!
Jodi says it “hurts” as well.
Come on, we all know the winner’s going to get a chance to show the rest of you as well!

Jodi says it was a terrible feeling and it almost shattered their hearts, implying their hearts are indeed not made out of the same squishy material the rest of our hearts are.

Cameron’s really happy with Sammy still being in it!

How much fat in an average tin of tuna in brine?
A: 0g
B: 2g
C: 10g

B is correct.
Mel’s a little annoyed Holly got that one wrong since they wouldn’t be allowed to eat it if it was full of fat!
Nathan’s up to 9km/h. Sharif’s still on 4km/h.

Sammy’s starting to struggle at 6-7km/h.

Per 100g which fruit has the most vitamin C?
A: Lemon
B: Lime
C: Orange

Ben answered C, which is correct. Everyone else was wrong.
Sammy finally gives up. Cameron feels fully responsible. Especially going over the limit on a simple question.

And not long after, Nathan’s out too. He probably could have kept going but they were already up to 11km/h and Sharif was still on 4km/h! He gets a very big hug from Jeda though.

Mel tries to perk Holly up who is in tears. Mel says if Holly keeps getting them right she can stick in there!
Teresa even calls out encouragement to Holly, saying she needs to snap out of it!

And of course we don’t find out who wins tonight, nor do we find out if Amanda’s coming back!

It looks like she will be from the “On Sunday…” preview though.
And it also looks like someone else will be carted off to hospital. This time without the flashers on the ambulance going though.

And IT’S ON! Holly says that if “they” want to be bitches then it’s on. There was a shot of Jeda and Jodi in there and that’s presumably who they’re talking about.
Find out on Sunday!
