TBL Australia 4×02: A Weigh In on Monday? Schedules be damned!
Previously on The Biggest Loser… stuff you could have rewatched a couple of hours ago!
Tonight? The couples weigh in for the first time. Expect tears, expect touching stories, expect people to whine about not being able to find love, losing love… You know the drill if you’ve watched before!
The first couple to weigh in will be… Cameron and Sammy! That’d be the Father and Daughter team.
Cameron struggles to step up onto the platform with the scales. He’s quite squidgy.
Cameron: 164.1kg
Sammy: 118.6kg
Combined: 282.7kg
I’d’ve pegged Cameron and Sammy both as heavier than that, looking at them.
Cameron says he knows what’s caused his daughter’s weight problem – like father, like daughter. Sammy feels bad about him blaming himself, she’s her own person and is old and smart enough to have dealt with it herself.
Cameron is most worried about letting his daughter down.
Jeda and Jodi are next up.
Jeda: 106.3kg
Jodi: 121.5kg
Combined: 227.8kg
Expect them to be the lighter end of the couples.
Jodi says her daughter had told her she was growing into a monster and now she sees it too. Jeda says that Jodi is her rock and seeing her crying breaks her heart.
Ajay asks them what they’ve been through together. Jeda reveals that she lost her daughter at full term, a stillbirth. Sammy on the platform is tearing up and her Dad puts an arm around her.
Then Jodi had a baby boy, Brodie, who had to go into surgery when he was only days old and Jeda had to see Jodi say goodbye to her son because they didn’t think he’d make it.
Ajay tells them they should be proud of what they’ve done here tonight.
If these two can last past the initial weeks I think they may stand a good chance of being there at the end. Takes a lot of grit to get through what they have and not be complete headcases!
Andrew and Nathan, the brothers, are up next.
Andrew: 144.2kg
Nathan: 145.2kg
Combined: 289.4kg
Astoundingly close together.
Andrew says he looks up to his older brother a lot, he takes after him, he wants to be him. He’s not only a brother, he’s a best mate.
Nathan says he’s been a terrible role model to Andrew. He’s encouraged him to eat and what sort of person does that to their little brother, his little mate? And the waterworks have started amongst the men!
Nathan gets very emotional then, sucks in the big breaths.
“I don’t cry! And it is very invigorating to cry!” The brothers seem to be good value, going to be good for the funnies.
Andrew says he’s one kilogram lighter than his brother and that’s where he’ll stay!
Holly and Mel, the sisters, get their turn next.
Holly: 108.2kg
Mel: 102kg
Combined: 210.2kg
The lightest so far but they’re still both visibly upset. Mel says she’s only starting her life and it feels like it’s over.
She was teased in childhood. Ajay asks who teased her and Mel says it was her big sister, Holly. Holly puts her face in her hand and breaks up even more. Ajay asks Holly how it feels to hear that and Holly says she knows there was no reason for her to have treated Mel like that, she loves Mel and she hopes to start the journey to weight loss and hopefully get Mel to forgive her.
“I love you!” “I love you too!” Awww, hugs!
Tania and Ramses up next. Ramses looks annoyed. He says he was more scared for his wife.
Tania: 135.7kg
Ramses: 137.9kg
Combined: 273.6kg
Ouch. Tania says 4 people should weight that, not two. Ajay asks them how it felt to walk down the aisle overweight. Tania says it wasn’t what she wanted but she’s also put on another 20kg since then.
Ramses says he’d’ve married her regardless.
Ajay asks Tania if she’s a good husband and she says yes, she can’t complain! Elicited much laughter from the peanut gallery.
Teresa and Sharif, the workmates, get their chance now. Sharif is just hoping it’s not too much worse than the last time he weighed himself. Teresa’s just hoping to not be more than 120kg
Teresa: 115kg
Sharif: 178.3kg
Combined: 293.3kg
Teresa looks horrified. But she thanks Sharif for bringing her with him. Sharif thanks her for coming. Big hug!
Sharif then says that there’s a sense of shame. You’re 32 years old… Wait, “Liars Beware”? Subliminal advertising again, Ch10? Tsk tsk.
Bob and Tiffany are next up.
Bob: 167.8kg
Tiffany: 113.6kg
Combined: 281.4kg
I was sure Bob would be above 170kg.
Tiffany says she makes it hard for her husband to love her when she looks like this. We then get some photos from her wedding day. And wow, she was HOT! Very cute bride.
Tiffany and Bob’s fire has been lit, she assures us.
Ben and Sean’s turn.
Sean: 132.5kg
Ben: 153.1kg
Combined: 285.6kg
They both look disappointed more than upset.
Sean’s got a tatt on his chest to represent his Mum and Dad. His mum died when he was 14 and his dad passed away in 2000 and Sean misses him so much. Ajay asks him what he’d say to his Dad if he was there and Sean says, “This’ll be the last time you can call me a fat bastard!”
Julie and Meaghan, mother and daughter.
Julie: 109.6kg
Meaghan: 123.4kg
Combined: 233kg
Not too bad, considering some of the other weights.
Julie feels really bad for her daughter. Meaghan says nobody knows what she goes through, not even her closest friends. And she wants to find love! Pick me! Pick me! Oh please, pick me!
Ajay tells her she’s young, beautiful, send a message to all the guys out there. “I’M SINGLE!” I’m not sure that’s the most attractive declaration, given that she’s standing around in lycra at fat camp on the fat camp tv show.
And I’m not sure she’s going to get the most desirable of attention via this route. I mean, bloggers are probably already lining up their propositions, and we all know what scum they are!
Stewart and Amanda’s turn now. Amanda looks even bigger without her clothes on, which I had not thought possible.
Amanda: 170.4kg
Stewart: 136.4kg
Combined: 306.8kg
Wow. Heaviest couple and Amanda is also the heaviest ever female. Nowhere near the heaviest contestant ever but that is still an incredibly huge amount of flab she’s going to be trying to shift.
Amanda says she feels sick, ashamed, guilty, revolting… and afraid. She’s afraid because she has a young girl and what would happen if Amanda and/or Stewart died? Who’d look after her?
Amanda has a dream of being an opera singer. When she was younger a conductor told her she could have a future as an opera singer, but only if she loses some of her weight. Even at 170 she doesn’t look out of place for an opera singer…
Ajay asks her to sing something inspirational. Amanda thinks she’ll start crying but Ajay says maybe she won’t, maybe she’ll just get happy!
Amanda finally starts belting out something operatic. Sorry, I’m not a fan and my Italian has kind of rusted away. And been buried in a box. At the bottom of the ocean.
Ben says he had no idea what she was singing, but it was wonderful!
Meaghan was proud of her doing it when it was one of her biggest fears.
“Well, what a note to end on.” – Ajay
“The fat lady has sung!” – Stewart
Tomorrow night… first training session! Well, other than those who trained with the Commando.
Lots of tears, lots of struggling fatties.
Tomorrow night is also The Warehouse night. Will it have changed from last year? We’ll see!
