Biggest Loser Australia 3×71: The Final The Walk. Maybe.
Tonight on The Biggest Loser is the last “The Walk” ever!
We hope. Common sense dictates that it won’t be back next year, but common sense is in short supply when it comes to the direction of The Biggest Loser.
In any event, Alison is the “lucky” contestant chosen to take The Walk today and it is once again going to involve money. Will she walk away with a suitcase full of it? Will she give a suitcase full to someone else and kick them out? Will a 5 minute decision be dragged out over the course of an hour?
Read on to find out…
Shannan’s counting heads as he comes in to make sure everyone is still there.
The contestants tell the trainers about the Temptation. Michelle is surprised another has come around already!
Shannan figures at least one of them would have had a go, given how huge the Temptation was!
Shannan is gobsmacked to learn that nobody had a go at Temptation. Alison is holding back a grin, Sam is obviously wanting to grin as well.
Shannan says that with healthy nutrition and hard training they’ve lowered their blood pressure, cholesterol and they’re further from health problems than they’ve ever been. He says these are the same contestants who threw darts at a dart board and pigged out and didn’t win anything!
They finally explain about the random discs and that Alison got ultimate immunity. Shannan’s ultimate Biggest Loser dream is one step closer to reality – now he just needs Kirsten and Sam up there next to her!
Alison represents never, ever underestimating what you can do, Shannan says!
Shannan is going to make sure Sam and Kirsten work their guts out to join Alison in the finale!
Alison’s still working hard, even though she’s guaranteed a spot in the final now. Good for her!
Kirsten says she knows it’s vital to continue working out, if they want to make it an all-Blue final.
Alison says they want to make Shannan proud and give him an all-Blue final!
Sam’s feeling a little pressure to match Alison and get into the finale as well.
Shannan says he got into Sam’s head right away. Sam’s switch went on and he was focused and determined.
Shannan says it’s good to see that Sam sees Bryce as his greatest threat. He’s not aspiring to match Kirsten or Garry, he wants to be like Bryce. If he’s chasing Bryce then he’ll push harder and faster!
Kirsten says all the boys are her biggest threat. She’s looking pretty crazy during the workout.
Kirsten says all you can do is your best all the time so that there’s no regrets.
Shannan says having a strong mental attitude at this time of the game is everything. Everyone is tired and hurting, but if your head says yes then your body’s got no choice but to do it!
And now we get a special catch up with 3 more of the 11 at-homers.
First up is Sandra/Sandy, 36 and from Perth, who weighed 105kg when she came in.
She wants to be there for her kids.
She was the one who Shannan was very mean to, saying her journey continues…….. but back at home.
She’s down to 92kg now, training 7 times a week and is well on the way to 80kg, her goal weight.
Steve weighed 140.7kg. 37 years of age and he’s a pig.
Sorry, he’s a policeman!
He has Type 2 diabetes. He wants to get it under control so he’s not going to end up in a wheelchair or dead.
Steve trains 6 days a week. He’s lost 21.7kg, too.
Lauren weighed 127kg at the start. She’s 23.
She started gaining weight at 18.
She’s lost 23kg since then.
Shannan reminds us all that The Biggest Loser Club is offering $10,000 to the Biggest Loser from those 11, but the biggest reward will be the healthy lives they get afterwards.
Michelle has Bryce and Garry training out on the lawn. Bryce knows every training session is vital now, particularly with Alison having the golden ticket.
Michelle says today’s training is about having the edge. If you can burn more calories than everyone else you’ll do better than everyone else.
Michelle wants them to burn 100 calories every 10 minutes during today’s session.
Bryce is extraordinary in his training, Michelle says. He’s taking it to a whole new level. When you’re enjoying it and passionate about it, you can always go harder.
Garry thinks Bryce is a big chance of winning.
Garry has had a couple of injuries in the last week, which he thinks has been holding him back a little.
Michelle says the injuries do hold him back a little, but sometimes Garry holds himself back a little. She tells him the last thing he wants is to be in the Elimination room thinking, “Shoulda, woulda, coulda.”
Michelle loves heart rate monitors, because the numbers don’t lie. They tell you when you’re working hard!
Bryce burnt 797 calories in the session today. Michelle says it’s awesome. “That’s like, nearly 800 calories in an hour.” Michelle’s a genius!
Garry only got to 457 calories burnt. Michelle thinks Garry is a contender, but only when she can fire him up. His intensity just wasn’t there today.
Time for Alison to go for The Walk!
Nobody has any idea what to expect!
Sam and Kirsten go for a walk together while they wait for Alison so they can fret together. They recall Ajay saying that 5 contestants could become 4. Sam reckons someone will be axed. So Kirsten’s glad Alison is taking The Walk, she doesn’t want to choose!
Sam thinks with Temptation being a replay of the first week, maybe The Walk is too. Names on stones and she has to pick one.
She says to Sam that she knows Alison will keep Blue safe if she can.
Bryce and Garry have a chat as well and they agree that it would be better if it wasn’t an instant elimination.
Bryce says when Michelle got offered the $50,000 to leave the game, he would have done it then. But now he’s not so sure he would.
Garry says Ajay said it would blow them away and he’s trying to think what might blow them away.
Alison’s off for her walk. She remembers that Blue has always been getting screwed over by The Walk, so she’s hoping that won’t happen again!
Alison’s also worried her golden ticket may be taken away. But if she gets to send someone home, it’ll be Bryce or Garry! Worst thing to happen would be turning over a stone that says she’s going home.
Ajay’s not there when Alison gets to the urn, though. What the…?
Just one urn, too.
She’s starting to wonder if she should just have a look, since nobody is there. Other than the cameraman, DUH.
Alison thinks she might get into trouble, but curiosity has gotten the better of her. So she picks it up and has a read.
“Your immunity is in jeopardy. Return to the White House immediately.”
Utter bullshit. Why bother giving it to her then? Ugh.
Why bother having her walk all the way out into the bush? Ugh.
Blah blah blah, everyone is surprised that Ajay is at the house with a platter. Usually people just come back with the stone.
Sam’s unimpressed, too. Immunity was being waved around and then NUP!
Ajay says that Alison won a guaranteed one way ticket to the finale. No matter what happens at the next weigh in, she cannot be eliminated.
But before that, she has to make a decision. One that could change the rest of her life!
And depending on her actions it could change the game and the lives of her fellow contestants, too.
Since her first day on the show she has lost 41.8kg, which is 34.35% of her bodyweight. And today that percentage has never been more significant. For every percentage she has lost, she will be offered $1,000.
Which means she’s offered $34,000 in “cold, hard, cash.”
It’s more money than she’s seen in a very long time. If ever! Alison says.
Ajay tells her that if she accepts, she gives up her position in the game. She won’t have a spot in the finale, won’t be eligible to compete for the $200,000 prizemoney.
Sam says $34,000 is nothing to scoff at, but you also don’t want to leave a day or two before it’s all done.
Ajay reminds Alison about Michelle turning down the $50,000 and she has now found herself out of the game.
Ajay rubs Alison’s nose in how much she’s given up to be there. And talks the decision up some more.
And then says she has just two minutes to make this life changing decision.
Ouch, dude!
Kirsten’s hoping Alison will stay, because Alison has always been saying she wanted to stay to the end.
Alison says $34,000 would go a long way towards school fees, car payments, mortgage, etc.
Alison says she was really happy when Michelle beat her to the $50,000 decision. Alison says that now she’s gotten everything she can out of the journey. She’s had the best trainer in the world, had amazing teammates, had an amazing time, learnt things about herself she never knew existed!
Kirsten is shaking her head!
She’s done everything she could have dreamt of here. Kirsten says, just before an ad break, “Oh my god, she’s going to take this money and run!”
So expect Alison to turn it down after the ad break!
So, Alison, what’s it going to be?
“I never came here for money. It’s not what drives me. I never thought when I walked through those gates that I would be here to the end and I want to make it to the end. I won’t be taking the money.” – Alison
Kirsten grins.
Alison wants to show her kids that you can go as far as you want, it’s all about believing yourself and determination, which is more important at this point.
Alison is now very definitely in the Biggest Loser finale. Unless they decide to fuck her around some more, of course.
Garry, Sam, Bryce and Kirsten… Alison turned down the money, but the cash out is not yet over!
We’re only just getting started!
They’re all now going to be offered a chance to cash out instead. Four platters come rolling out.
Garry has $31,000 on his platter, Sam has $35,000, Bryce has $32,000 and Kirsten has $35,000.
Very hard choice. Particularly for someone like Garry, who is not a huge chance at winning anyway.
Bryce thinks with that $32,000 he could really kickstart his life with the person who means the most to him in the world.
Kirsten says there’s no guarantee you’ll even make the final at this stage, still another elimination to go. This is a guarantee. You can walk out the gate with that money and set yourself up for life!
If they choose to accept, they have to take the money and leave the White House. They won’t get to compete for the grand prize or the title.
Garry says the money would make him happy, but missing out on the Finale would make him sad.
The rest of the contestants will get one hour to make the decision. If they decide to take the money they have to gong a huge gong to alert everyone else. The first person to do it will receive the money and leave the White House immediately.
Awaiting them in the DVD room is something that will help them make their decision.
Ajay wishes them good luck and says she’ll see them in an hour… or maybe before.
Bryce is considering it, saying that he came to the House not to win the show, he came to lose as much weight as he possibly can. So has he done that?
What does he want to do in the next ten years of his life? He wants to have a family, have a deposit for a house. Can that help him? Yes it can. So he’s very seriously considering cashing out.
Sam says $35,000 would pay off his Uni, get him a car. Being 20 years old and having that sort of money? It’s very tempting.
The surprise in the DVD room is a DVD with a highlights reel from previous Finales. Including quite a few shots of hot-hot-Fiona!
And of course lots of shots of Adro kicking booty the first year.
Garry says Adro and Harry’s transformations were incredible.
And the DVD ends with a montage of the 2008 crew, with their first weigh in and their most recent weigh in. It blows their minds.
Kirsten figures Bryce and Garry would have been thinking about it back out on the lawn. But after looking at the DVD, maybe not?
And yes, Bryce is rethinking it. He’d like to be in the company of past winners. Does he really want to be a famous Biggest Loser winner? Yeah, definitely.
Garry’s thinking he should take the money. Walking away with $30,000 is not the end of the world and people won’t look on him badly.
Sam’s not ready to go, but there’s 35,000 reasons to leave!
Tomorrow night… time is running out.
Who will turn their back on the game forever?
I don’t know, but whoever it was really blows Alison away!
Who do you think will take the money?
- Bryce (37%)
- Garry (35%)
- Kirsten (2%)
- Nobody! (12%)
- Sam (14%)
