Biggest Loser Australia 3×65: Eliminated Elimination Round One!
Tonight on The Biggest Loser the games for the eliminated contestants really begin.
Weights will be slung across shoulders and the knives will inevitably come out in some fashion, because that’s the only kind of drama the producers know how to produce, these days!
Want the details of the challenge?
The trainers rock up to the House again. But for once, they’re not talking about how they don’t know what to expect.
No, I kid, they’re unsure about the outcome of Temptation.
The eliminated contestants explain the Temptation for the trainers.
They tell the trainers about the deep fried Mars Bar and how Garry had it first. Shannan described it as a “heart attack on a plate!”
Michelle asks him to tell her he didn’t eat it! And Garry confirms he didn’t. And everyone laughs and Garry asks why everyone is so shocked!
Michelle says she is shocked! And gives him a big hug and is obviously very proud of him. And Garry seems very pleased with it, too.
Shannan’s a little disappointed with Kirsten having done Temptation, but he knows she would have been loathing having to do it. She tells Shannan she thought she was going to throw up.
And of course then it came down to the final round and the deal they made, to leave it to the eliminated contestants to decide who’d get the 1kg advantage.
Sean explains that because Sam is always a little up and down in his losses, but he’s always in there having a go, so they gave him the advantage.
Michelle says the advantage is worth it’s weight in gold. I would say to her that it’s also worth its weight in lead. Or water. Or feathers. Or ponies. It’s a kilo, it’s always the same!
Shannan takes the Final Four for training while Michelle takes the eliminees out.
Shannan has his peeps doing high intensity training. Lots of running and cycling.
Shannan says Garry’s progress has accelerated over the last couple of weeks and now the eliminees coming back has spurred him on.
Garry’s usual running speed on the treadmill is only 12km/h and Shannan says he’s having none of that and decides to challenge Garry to see how much higher he can really go. Eventually he gets up to 19km/h and manages to run for another couple of seconds at that speed.
But then Shannan tells him the fastest the treadmill can go is 20km/h, does he think he can do it? And Garry said yes, he can do it, get me back on there!
The treadmill’s bouncing up and down a little bit, but he’s managing to do it! Shannan’s very clearly stoked with him. High fives all round!
Shannan says it inspired him to see the power of exercise. Garry came onto the show a physical and emotional wreck. Seeing him on the treadmill today made him realise you should never underestimate the power of training and exercise!
Kirsten’s turn. She says that Garry had set a high bar and there was no way she wasn’t going to match it!
Shannan says he’s never had one of his female clients go to 20km/h, not in 17 years of personal training. Never! And Kirsten did it, yay!
Michelle has the eliminees out on the tennis/basketball court training. She says they’re back in the House and it’s time to get back into training!
Michelle gets them warmed up and then has them play a little basketball.
Things are going well at first. Cosi pots a few, Bryce pots a few. And Monica manages to score a couple as well! And she’s never even played before.
But then as so often happens, things go wrong. Rachel throws the ball at Monica, who gets hit right in the lower back and goes down in agony. Guess she has a dud back, because Rachel didn’t really throw it very hard.
Michelle decides it might be time to call it a day!
And now it’s Challenge Day for the eliminees. Their first chance at getting back into the House.
Michelle, Shannan and Ajay are out the front. Michelle and Shannan are just in workout gear, nothing special. Ajay’s in a pretty pink dress. Suits her!
There’s about a tonne of weights on the lawn, with bars on sandstone blocks out on the lawn, one for each eliminated contestant.
The Final Four head outside as well and see everyone lined up. Except for Monica who I guess won’t be participating? Poor bugger. Her chance to get back in is now officially over. Dang.
Cosi says he feels for her, but too bad!
Only six will survive the challenge, apparently.
Bryce says so long as he and Michelle make it through, he’s happy. What about Carrianne? Hmm.
Ajay says it’s the ones who can best handle the weight who will survive as they play “Stacks On!”
In a semi circle they stand on the blocks with a barbell across their shoulders. One at a time they can nominate someone to receive additional weight.
Cosi says it sounds easy but because he’s seen as a threat, he’ll get targetted. He’s not sure how much weight he can take on.
Michelle and Shannan will be the ones delivering the weights.
First five people to step off the block, fall off their block or drop their weights will be out of the competition to return to the House.
For the six who make it through, one final obstacle awaits. Shannan and Michelle will each choose two people to form a trio to go on to compete in the mother of all challenges.
Uh. What about the other two? Ajay doesn’t explain what happens to them, only that they want to be selected because at the final challenge the winners will be selected.
Sooo why not just have Michelle and Shannan choose their two now? All this is is another way to get rid of the people who most deserve to win by virtue of being good at losing weight. Because you can bet if Cosi gives up then Bryce will be the next target, then Sean or Michael, then…
Anyway. On with the show!
Smart thing for the boys to do here would be to gang up and wipe the girls out. Bet they don’t though.
Cosi says it’ll be hard because he’s not really worked on the muscles involved.
Michael gets to choose first. He gives his weights to Rachel. Nicola says Rachel is always going on about how she’s done weights in the past and weightlifting and so on.
Cosi doesn’t want to make any groups of people upset or more likely to put weight on him, so he decides to try and choose someone who is maybe the least liked and nobody will jump to the defence of.
So he chose Michelle!
Kirsten thinks it’s a good choice but maybe Bryce or Sean may have been a better choice.
Michelle is up next and decides to give 10kg to Nicole. Michelle says Nicole has been saying she’s very strong and there’s only a few people standing in her way of winning the competition, so Michelle thought this is the time for her to prove how strong she is!
Ooh yeah, feeling the Michelle love again now. Heh.
Rachel’s turn now. She chooses Nicole, too. Rachel wants Nicole to drop out because she doesn’t think Nicole deserves to be back in the House. Maybe Rachel has seen the disgraceful way Nicole behaved in the mudpig challenge?
Nicola’s turn now. She says in a small voice that she’ll go for Carrianne.
Sheridan gives the girls a break and gives Cosi some weight.
Kirsten says there’s finally someone with their head screwed on!
Cosi thinks it’s just revenge for him labelling her the most annoying person in Australia!
Bryce. Who gives it to Nicole? Seriously? I figured he’d go straight for Cosi, too.
Nicole says she’s really struggling to focus, now.
Sean says Rachel had made it clear right from the start that she didn’t want to be there and Sean does, so he gives more to Rachel!
Debbie gives a bit more weight to Cosi.
Nicola also hands some weight to Cosi.
Carrianne says Ajay was speaking to them and Nicole looked up at Ajay, lost her balance and stepped off the board. What a twit, heh.
Cosi’s pretty happy. Nicola really, really isn’t. What a shame. Cough.
Garry goes over to check on her, where she’s sooking on the sidelines.
Carrianne says it was hard to remain focused and she thought about dropping her own bar and checking on Nicole, but if she did that then neither of them would get back in!
Nicole says she was hoping everyone would put their anger towards herself and leave Carrianne alone, but no chance now!
After the ads Cosi says the weight is starting to bother him, but he looks around at the other big threats and nobody else has been given weight.
Round two begins and Bryce gets some weight from Michael. Bryce isn’t bothered by that though.
Cosi gives Debbie her first 10kg, he says because she’s very weak minded and gives up very easily.
Michelle gives some more weight to Cosi. He says he’s now being targetted and it was like the Challenge was written to get rid of him.
Shannan says there’s a look of guts and determination on Cosi’s face.
Cosi says he’s told Rachel to load Sean up, because while he is injured, he’s also lost a lot of weight up.
Nicola decides that it’s fair that Sheridan join the rest of them in carrying some weight!
Sheridan then dumps another 10kg on Cosi, who is up to 50kg now.
Shannan tells Cosi to fire up and Cosi responds that he’s got it mentally. Think maybe the body may not be willing.
Sheridan says the reason he’s getting it today is because he’s a big threat but he’s also screwed over a lot of people whenever he can.
Bryce gives Michael his first 10kg.
Sean gives another 10kg to Cosi. Come on Cosi!
“You show what sort of athlete you are, mate.” – Michelle to Cosi
Debbie gives some more weight to Cosi.
Cosi says it’s not funny anymore. Cosi says every 10kg feels like another dagger in the back.
But he starts thinking of his missus and his kid and he doesn’t want them to see him fail like that.
“I’ve trained you mate, I know what you can do. Screw ’em.” – Michelle
Carrianne passes off some more weight to Rachel.
Rachel needs to stick in there to help pass out the weight to other people.
Nicola says at the end of Round 2 she only had 10kg on her back and it was already starting to hurt and Cosi hada whopping 70kg at this point.
Michael put weight on Debbie first up and Debbie gives up before Shannan and Michelle even get to her with the weight.
Ajay asks Cosi and before Ajay even finishes talking, Cosi calls out Sean. He wants it moving quickly because the faster it moves, the less time he has to hold the weight up.
Cosi realises he needs to recruit the few friends he has. Rachel says he arms are going numb and cramping though. Cosi talks her into staying for at least one more round.
They go after Sean. They know he’s injured and he’s the best bet to get out.
Nicola sticks with her mates and votes Sean as well, hoping to make him give up.
Sean’s got pain going up from his leg and into his back. And he says he’s buckling under the strain of 40kg.
Sam says it was amazing to watch. Cosi had been smashed in the early rounds but he’s not showing any pain so they thought it wasn’t fun anymore, so they decide to pile it on Sean instead.
Sean gives more weight to Cosi.
Cosi says he knows Sean knows they’re the big threats. So they’re putting the weight on each other and it’s down to who gets the most and who can handle the most.
Garry said it killed him not being able to help his mate and seeing everyone pick on him really fired him up.
Cosi whispers to Michael that there’s a change of plan, go after Sean. Michael doesn’t want to, so Cosi suggests Carrianne instead, which Michael agrees to.
Bryce then decides to lump Carrianne with some more weight. He knows she was Black Team but it looked like she was struggling and he wanted to get the weight off his shoulders. Charming!
Carrianne says it was like, screw you! There’s two guys struggling and he’s putting it on her?
Then apparently she has a brain snap and puts the weight on Bryce in retaliation. Duh.
Cosi’s on 80kg. Shannan says he could tell it was getting heavier and heavier on him, but he just became more and more determined.
Round 4 begins.
Michael chooses Carrianne. She’s really struggling. She says nup, nup. But she manages to hold the weight.
Cosi then decides to target Carrianne as well. She’s saying “I can’t do it, I can’t do it.” She’s freaking out but she manages to stick in there.
Michelle chooses… Sean!
Sean’s not sure why she did that. Hello, you’re injured dude!
Rachel chooses Sean as well.
Michelle says the game has become ruthless.
Sean’s up to 60kg, which is what he’s lost in body weight, which helps him mentally handle it.
Nicola goes for Carrianne as well. She’s hoping to get the game moving along.
Carrianne’s up to 50kg.
Sheridan chooses Rachel.
Rachel doesn’t want to continue but Shannan talks her into it. He calls out that this isn’t about winning the competition, it’s about testing your guts and determination.
Bryce then picks Rachel as well to try and get her out ASAP.
While Rachel is getting loaded up, Carrianne is trying to reposition herself and staggers off the block.
Kirsten tells us that this means four people are out, leaving just 2 more to drop out.
Cosi is finally thinking he could win it. He’s got Rachel on his side who could drop out at any time, so if they just get rid of Sean, he’s won!
Sean chooses Cosi, of course. Ouch.
90kg on Cosi’s back. Face of stone.
Rachel asks Michelle and Shannan to take the weight off her, but Cosi pleads with her to stay and Rachel sucks it up again and stays.
Cosi says he feels like Jesus on the crucifix (sure to win him even more fans!) and every time 10kg goes on it’s like someone chucking a stone at him. The only way for him to survive is to tell himself that he’s not going to die today, he’s not going to let them beat him.
Round 5. Sean’s hoping Michael will put the weight on Cosi.
Michael’s choice? On Sean. No more Blue for life for Michael!
Sean’s up to 70kg now.
Sean’s devastated at Michael’s lack of loyalty.
Cosi passes off another 10kg to Sean, who says the weight is starting to roll off his back.
And yep, he can’t go on! He lets the weight roll off his back.
Alison is proud of him nevertheless because the Sean from a couple of weeks ago would never have been able to do such a thing!
Once Sean drops out Rachel decides to drop out as well. Michelle and Shannan help her by pushing the weighs off her back. As soon as the weights fall off, she squeals in agony as the blood rushes back into her numb hands.
The challenge is now officially over, so people can drop their weights.
Most of them just toss them off their back. Cosi has Shannan, Michelle and Michael help him shuck his weight.
Shannan compliments him and says he never once dropped his head. In an aside he says that Cosi had everything stacked against him, but he was determined and brave and gutsy. No way those weights were going to weigh him down!
Cosi says that when something like that happens, it’s an against all odds story. “How can you not go bloody good on you?” I’m sure someone will find a way to bag you, Cosi.
Shannan intercepts Michael on the way over to Sean. Shannan says that Cosi manipulated Michael into putting weight on Sean, but Michael says to Sean that it was just that they needed another person to drop out and Sean had a lot of weight and he doesn’t think Cosi would have broke.
Sean tells him it’s a competition and it’s every man for himself and you’ve got to survive. Michael says he feels bad though, because he basically put Sean out the last time by not winning the challenge for them.
Sean tells him that now Michael’s got to win and get back into the game tomorrow. Or else!
Michael’s also now realised that he’s up against two of the fittest guys left – Cosi and Bryce.
The six who aren’t going through now have to go home. Get out, go home, good luck, etc! Byebye again!
Cosi says the only one he was really sad to see go was Rachel, because she’d helped him in the challenge and basically given up her spot for him and he’s eternally grateful.
Rachel says she was never there to win, just to change her life.
Sean’s happy he’ll get to lose the weight he needed to lose.
Carrianne says this has been the best experience of her life.
And now it’s time for Shannan and Michelle to pick teams.
Two of them are ex-Black Team though. Come on, punt them, please, it’s be hilarious!
Michelle picks… Nicola first? What the? Heh.
Shannan picks Michael as the only original Blue Team member.
Michelle then picks Cosi, of course.
Sheridan, Bryce and Michelle are left. Come on Shannan, make us happy!
YES!!! He picks Sheridan. Woohoo!
Michelle says she’s not surprised that herself and Bryce weren’t chosen.
Bryce is pissed off about being binned again. “It’s like frickin’ deja vu!”
However, things are never as they seem. Gee, I wonder if Commando Steve is coming back.
Yup. Damn, was hoping they’d be sent packing. Oh well.
Michelle’s happy. Bryce looks a little less impressed though.
Sheridan says she’s only ever heard of him, he’s like a legend!
So off the remnants of the Black Team go for training, then Michelle takes her peeps off and Shannan takes his off.
Tomorrow night, it’s do or die.
Ajay says nothing will prepare them for the hell they’re about to go through.
Each trio will be roped together and it looks like they have to burrow under some obstacles and carry hay bales up a sand dune. Why you would need hay bales on a sand dune is anybody’s guess, but that’s what they’re doing.
Looks like quite a lengthy challenge. Bet we don’t find out the winner till Sunday!
