Biggest Loser Australia 3×53: Garry Takes A Walk
Tonight on The Biggest Loser, Garry must face The Walk. And the stone he brings back is not allowed to be shown to anyone. ANYONE!
Also, Cosi goes into some sort of breakdown and has a massive pig out on all kinds of food. Maybe he’s hoping to puke it and all the fish eyes back up?
Read on to find out…
We start out tonight with Cosi wandering in and starting to pull together a bunch of food. Was my puking guess not so far from the truth?
Cosi recaps the challenge for us. He says he ate 1100 calories for nothing. He was devastated about getting so close to immunity but not quite getting it.
He starts out good with some burgen bread with jam on it, but then cuts open a packet of fish. In an aside he’s wondering if he’ll ever get a break in the game. He’s been doing really well in terms of weightloss but with that has come a lot of other baggage, with people wanting to get rid of him and whispering and conspiring and it’s gotten to him.
Then he grabs some tim tam knockoffs. Dick Smith ones, I think.
He’s wondering what he’s doing there anymore, after having caught up with his woman at makeover day. He’s got to his target weight, under 100kg, he says, so he doesn’t see the point in continuing anymore, he misses her so much.
Cosi pours a huge glob of tomato sauce onto his cheese on bread, plus he has a bunch of fish on the plate too. Crazy.
Cosi says the reason he’s in the White House is because he got so fat, and the way he got so fat was emotional eating. If he’d had a tough day at work he’d stop off and get some burgers or pizzas and eat them by himself. And the Temptation was much the same, a “tough day at the office”. He says he doesn’t care what he eats, he just wanted to eat.
He ate a bunch of bread, couple of slices of cheese, half a kilo of salmon, a flathead and a whole stack of chocolate biscuits. He was only going to have a couple but he ended up having about 14.
We see Cosi at one point shaking his head while eating.
He says he ate about 4,800 calories in total, including the Temptation food.
Cosi says his body is sorted by his mind’s not quite there yet. He thinks there’s maybe a bit more work to do there yet. After what he did today, he says, he’s not quite in the clear yet.
Shannan, Michelle and Jillian rock up to the House together. No sign of Bob today?
Cosi’s not looking forward to seeing Michelle and Shannan after eating 1100 calories at the Temptation and then another 3-4,000 afterwards.
Sam tells the trainers that Cosi got the marshmellows at the start. Cosi says it was for a good cause though!
Michelle says she knows Cosi’s been under a lot of pressure, but after all the food he ate, he better have won!
Sam tells them about the lamb brains and the look on Michelle’s face is priceless!
Garry ate the huge chocolate eclairs at the end. Garry has a sort of guilty grin on his face.
Jillian says Garry’s 1960 calories isn’t too bad, nor is Cosi’s 1200 or so. She says that when people play to stay in the House, she respects it, she hates the game, not the player!
Michelle looks a little annoyed with Cosi but mostly smiling. Cosi’s feeling pretty nervous about his pig out, but he didn’t want to tell Michelle in front of everyone, he’s waiting for some one on one time, which is fair enough. Will the other contestant’s respect that?
Shannan asks Garry if he had lunch and Garry says no. Then Michelle the whiner pipes up to dob him in over eating the remaining braiiiiiiiiiiiins. Eww.
Shannan and Michelle are unimpressed. Shannan says it shows real weakness, though Garry thinks he was just having a snack.
Shannan says that people are fat because of this sort of thing.
Garry tells them he just needed a snack and Michelle is mystified. She points out that he just had 900 calories. Shannan corrects her and pats her on the back, reminding her that it was 1900 calories!
Shannan says it’s not good enough that he was feeling a little hungry. He’d had 2,000 calories for the day and so what if he was a bit hungry? If you still eat more food you’re going right back to 206kg!
Then Cosi is made to fess up to having had lunch as well.
Shannan says that today should have been a good test for them to show that they have the strength to get past eating too much.
Cosi says something happened today that sent him right back to where he was when he entered the House.
Michelle says, in an aside, that when she found out what happened during and after Temptation she knew she had to get with the boys and get to the bottom of what’s going on.
Michelle takes Cosi and Garry outside, one on each arm, saying, “Boys, boys, boys.”
Michelle doesn’t know about Cosi’s binge yet, but they’re already going to get a flogging, they can tell.
Michelle could tell right at the start that the boys weren’t going to make it through the session. And Cosi is the worse of the two. Cosi is usually the one asking for more and pushing hard, but today he could barely get through the first five minutes.
Michelle says to Cosi and Garry that she doesn’t want them to feel bad for doing what they did in Temptation. It’s a shame that Cosi didn’t win, given how much he ate. But he’s fit and strong, but they can get it back off them.
Michelle then takes Cosi aside for a separate chat to find out what’s going on with him. She says it didn’t take long for him to start unravelling.
Cosi says he dumbed it down a little, when relating his breakdown, only relaying the bread and the fish and so on, but not the cookies. He gave her about 3/4 of the damage.
Michelle tells him he’ll be fine. She knows he’s had it tough since early on, being a marked man. And what’s happened today is that he’s had a bad day so he’s hit the fridge, and things got worse.
Cosi says seeing his missus might have thrown him a bit but it reminded him how lucky he is.
Garry gives him a manly clap on the shoulder and Michelle puts an arm around his neck and tells him he’ll be okay.
Cosi says Sam is the perfect partner and to get Harry, even though he’s his stepson, he loves him like blood and it’s like two-in-one! He says his life is nothing without Harry.
Apparently Sam told Cosi that Harry wanted to come visit too, but he couldn’t. And Harry said he’d pay with his own money but he still couldn’t. “You poor little bastard.”
Cosi says it’s his own problem, but his seven year old has to suffer because Cosi’s not there.
Michelle tells him that Harry knows he’s okay and that he knows Cosi is doing it for the right reasons and knows that the end is in sight.
Michelle says that she’s really happy that Cosi’s breakdown happened while he was still in the House. “It was like the universe threw something at Cosi and said, really? You think you’ve got it all going on? Try this on!”
Cosi says he thinks there’s a part of him that thinks he was ready to go home, but then he goes and eats 5000 calories, so how ready is he, really?
Michelle says she thinks maybe Cosi is considering throwing in the towel, which is where she doesn’t need him right now. She needs him to show some mental strength, not just the physical strength now. The fire has gone out a little in his eyes but she thinks she can reignite it before the weigh in. I hope so, too!
Time for The Walk! Blah blah blah nervous blah blah blah change the game blah blah blah never know what will happen blah blah blah.
Last time for The Walk was JJ’s $50,000 cash, which Michelle ended up turning down.
While Garry’s off on his Walk the other fatties are apparently heading off for some training on the beach.
All four trainers are on the beach.
“You’re out of the House! Yes! Yes!” – Shannan
Bob and Jillian decide that a swim out to the sailboats and back would be a great way to warm up!
And no way was Shannan going to let the ex-Black Team win something. So he sends in Kirsten after Bryce. In her bikeshorts and bra, haha.
Eventually the others hop in too.
Bob calls out, “Bryce! Sookyboy! Go!” Jillian is all, “Sookyboyyyyyyyyyyy!”
All the trainers are really impressed by the way Kirsten easily powers past Bryce and comes in first, despite going into the water after the Black Teamers hopped in!
Cosi’s really impressed by Kirsten, saying she’s one of the fittest women he’s ever come across. He thinks she’s a real chance of being the first female Biggest Loser.
Michelle the trainer agrees, saying she’s so strong.
Shannan says she’s nicknamed The Enforcer, she’s injury free and competitive and wants to win.
Bob has finally come around as well, saying Kirsten is the girl!
When all the fatties get back to dry land Michelle the trainer asks Bob and Jillian if they want a bit of volleyball, Shannan saying it’s a very California thing!
It’s Yanks versus Aussies. Well, Black Team and their trainers and Shannan and Michelle plus their people swapping in and out.
Black gets to two and Bob says, “That’s two, right?” And Jillian laughs.
Blue and Red make a comeback, Shannan says, “Five to the bad guys, one to the good guys?” Causing Bob to laugh some more.
The Americans are ahead 9-2 and Shannan says it was enough charity, time for it to be game on!
Then Blue and Red start creeping back… 9-7!
“Jillian!” Bob calls out at one point, while Jillian spins on the spot because she’s lost track of the ball. Clearly ball sports are not Jillian’s strong suit!
Cosi says Michelle and Shannan definitely have a point to prove and it doesn’t matter if it’s in terms of the overall competition or a game of beach volleyball.
It gets to 9-9 and it’s getting pretty serious now.
10-9. Match point to the good guys! Shannan puts in a good serve which Black returns poorly. Good guys win!
Shannan says to maintain focus you need variety, and he could tell they all really enjoyed the training today.
Garry’s finally off at The Walk.
Blah blah blah.
Ajay’s waiting in a nice little black dress, looks very pretty.
The two stones on offer both have a power written on them that will be granted to Garry. The power could wreck someone’s Biggest Loser journey.
Staying in the game is dependent on your weightloss percentage and this week he will have the power to change one person’s result at the weigh in.
Stone 1: Swap your weightloss with a male opponent
Stone 2: Swap your weightloss with a female opponent
Garry’s hoping for the male one so he can knock out Sam or Bryce. Less interested in the female one.
Garry gets the female one. Meh.
If he does badly then whoever he trades weight with will actually do badly instead.
But there’s a catch! He can’t tell any of the contestants what just happened. Nobody else is to know about the weightloss swap. If he tells anyone he runs the risk of having his immunity revoked, among other “severe punishment”. Ooooh.
Garry’s nervous about returning to the House since he can’t tell anyone about what happened.
He gets in, looks around and can’t see anyone, so he bolts up stairs with the stone.
Kirsten and Alison were waiting in their bedroom, waiting for him to come back from The Walk. They come out for a look just as Garry gets back and Garry doesn’t spot them, but they can see into his bedroom. And they see him put the stone under his mattress!
Will they take a peek or not? Garry sees them. He knows his sneaking didn’t work!
Garry takes them down to the rest of the fatties to explain what’s going on.
Garry explains about the rocks, but only in a general fashion. He tells them that he can’t say what happened.
Michelle is pissed off, saying, “This is so stupid. If we can’t know then what have been waiting around for all day?”
Garry says if he wanted to he could send Michelle under the Yellow Line, but he’s not made it clear that’s what he’ll do.
“Well that’s a bit anticlimactic, Garry!” – Cosi
Cosi and Kirsten figure it’s got to be weigh in or challenge related.
Alison says it doesn’t matter if it’s fair or not, it’s a game. But she figures it’s probably got to do with weight since that’s the most important thing right now.
The girls are sitting around the kitchen when Garry wanders in, so they decide to try and goad him a bit.
Garry asks them if they have any guesses what it might be and Michelle says she doesn’t want to play guessing games if Garry’s not going to play too! Garry says he doesn’t have to guess because he already knows!
Garry says he’s going to be watching the girls closely, make sure he knows how everyone is going. He says Michelle is annoying, Kirsten is a threat. Nothing about Alison though.
Michelle wanders in to find Cosi on the bike cycling away. She says she knows it’s been a tough couple of days for him. Missing his woman and his stepson. She’s going to hook a surprise up for him. She gets him a phone call with his stepson Harry. Awwww!
Cosi says he was pretty much crying right away, but he wants to be strong and not let him know how sad Cosi is at the moment.
“I’ve been missing your guts out!” – Cosi. Heh.
Cosi tells Harry that he’s lost as much weight as Harry himself weighs!
Cosi also tells Harry that he’s got to be the man of the house right now. Look after his Mum, don’t misbehave, etc.
Cosi says he’s been given a great gift in being in the House. He says he knows some people are always going on about wanting to go home but he wants to stay and win. He has to be on his a-grade game every single day. Today he slipped up, tomorrow he’s got to be back on the horse.
He thinks maybe it’s good it happened now so he can have a sook about it, deal with it and make sure it never happens again.
And now we get another catchup with one of the 11 who were sent home on the first day! Cool!
Adam, 6’5″ and over 160kg. Shannan says a man like that is hard to forget! He’s 27, and a marketing coordinator, he says. His Mum died 6 days before his 18th birthday. She made him promise he’d live a full life and so he needs to lose the weight to fulfil that promise.
He’s lost 21.2kg, but he’s still very large. But he’s back playing basketball, Shannan says, which is great because that’s his passion.
Next up is Stacy, one of the other women that are so fat they look indistinguishible from the men. 128.4kg, she started at, and she’s quite short.
She used to be a power lifter, has records and titles and all. That may explain the masculine features…
She’s worried she’ll get the diabetes like her Dad.
She was disappointed she got sent home by The Commando.
Since starting she’s lost over 24.6kg and she already looks way better.
She now does a lot of mountain bike riding now, up to 2 hours at a time, 3 times a week. Along with the usual boxing, running and so on.
Tomorrow night the contestants face “the seven deadly tons”. 7 stacks of a ton of various materials. Planks, bricks, tires, regular workout weights.
And whoever comes in last will have to weigh in right after the challenge. Ouch!
And at the weigh in, someone’s going to put on weight. We see most of the contestants in their black tops on the scales, except Garry, Cosi and Michelle. So expect one of them to come in last at the challenge!
