Biggest Loser Australia 3×47: Loser Legends, Lingering Limelight
Tonight on The Biggest Loser ex-contestants and the original champion of the Australian series return to the House to help motivate the current crop of contenders.
Then new teams are formed… Pairing a current Loser contender with a “Legend” from the past.
Hopefully the Legends will get their own colour shirts as it may be hard to tell the difference otherwise.
Would you like to know more?
The Fatties come trundling out of the House to see Ajay standing on the driveway in a nice black dress with an ugly moss green coat over the top.
An exciting new element is going to be unleashed, Ajay says. How they know it’s exciting before it happens is anyone’s guess!
They’ve learnt a lot so far, but have they learnt enough to make it on the outside, because that’s where the real weightloss battle begins.
Alison says she has it all together on the inside, but she’s not sure how she’d do on the outside.
Ajay tells them all they’re going to be getting some new house guests. The next 24 hours could change their lives and could change the way they view themselves in the competition.
It’s time to meet your new houseguests, who arrive in a stretched Hummer. Cosi thinks it’s something the Commando would drive, but surely it’s not him?
Bryce is hoping the Hummer will contain Bob and Jillian but it “contained something just that little bit different!”
Ajay asks them to welcome the contestants from 2006 and 2007!
First out is “Big Wal”. He started at 176kg and lost 66.3kg, he says.
Cosi says he looks amazing, he’s a good looking man, chiseled and strong.
Munnalita comes out second. She says she’s feeling excited to see the new contestants.
Michelle says she looks gorgeous. What she doesn’t say is that she’s clearly put some of the weight back on since the finale.
Next up is Damien. With a shaved head! He’s still built like a brick shithouse.
Michelle says he looks like he’s maintained his weightloss. Which is strange, since she doesn’t seem to have rose coloured glasses on.
Damien says it doesn’t seem like it was that long ago he was in there.
Next up is Kristie. She says since we last saw her she’s completely changed her life.
Apparently popping yet another baby out of the clown car counts as “completely changing your life.” Baby number 6, the most recent one is.
She’s done a personal training course and opened two fitness equipment retail stores.
Alison is blown away by seeing Kristie as she’d found her really inspiring in Season 1.
Next up is Tracy. She’s definitely thinner than she used to be. And her face seems to be carrying a few less wrinkles, too.
Next up is Courtney’s hairy, hairy legs!
Courtney’s looking fantastic. He’s regained a bit of the chubbiness around his face but it really just makes him look younger. The rest of his body looks good!
Courtney says he’s not jealous of the other contestants at all because he knows what they’re going through!
Pati’s out the door next. We get a replay of her talking about her huge butt on the scales on her first day. And getting out of the car her butt is pretty obviously in evidence, so she’s another one who’s stacked a bit back on.
And last out the door is… Adro!
He looks pretty much as fantastic as the day of the finale, only with less loose skin!
Adro says he’s a motivational speaker, a body and life coach, a qualified personal trainer and he’s opened up a weightloss retreat.
Bryce says he’s a bit starstruck to see Adro.
“Oh my gosh! They’re all so little!” – Alison
Ajay says these people are the Biggest Loser Legends lineup.
Tracy says they’re there to inspire everyone, hopefully, show the current crop that if they can do it (which some of them can’t) then so can they!
Ajay says Kristie is looking like a hot mama. As a mother of six she’s making it look easy to keep the weight off, which Kristie says is not really true, it’s just that she’s been making sure to find the time to get some exercise done.
Alison says it’s a big fear of hers that she’s going to go back and not be able to find the time to do the exercising.
Ajay asks Courtney how The Biggest Loser has changed his life and Courtney says a better question would be how hasn’t it changed his life. Exercise is a part of his day on a regular basis now and he’s about to become a full time personal trainer. Courtney says if he can do it, then anyone can.
Sam is amazed at Courtney being on the path to full time PT-hood. Sam thinks maybe he could do that himself on the outside, too.
Kirsten is hoping to learn from the Legends how to survive the game, and also how ot survive on the outside.
Ajay says they only have 24 hours to pick the brains of the Legends.
Sam says they better get inside and get to it.
Courtney says it felt good to be back with his journey being over and done with and it’s good to be able to pass on some information and advice to them all.
Cosi says it’s very cool to have them in the White House, there’s only a select handful of them in the world to have gone through it.
Wal says they’re now like a big family and sometimes you don’t like your relatives, but you’ve got to get on with them. They’re a minority that have been lucky enough to have this opportunity.
Damien says he knows a bit of outside influence would help lift their spirits and they have common ground in the experiences they’ve gone through.
Munnalita says congratulations to them all, they’re all looking amazing. She asks how it’s feeling, is it feeling a bit difficult to be in there.
Garry says there’s good and bad days, more good at the moment because they’re lighter and stronger now, so they’re more positive.
Wal says they’ve got to be confident to wear pink and purple shirts! “It takes a big man to pull this off!” Says Bryce.
Tracy says the hardest thing for her was missing her kids. Which puts an instant damper on the hilarity. Oops!
Cosi says he can’t wait to chat to some of them and find out how they coped with the seperation from their families.
Pati says she remembers being in this situation last time and she thinks maybe it’s make or break time for some of them.
Pati tells them the last couple of weeks will probably be a nightmare, but as hard as it seems, try and enjoy it, because it’s a once in a lifetime thing.
Adro says it’s very weird being back in the White House. Watching the new guys and remembering they were there before too. And they were probably sitting there not seeing the light at the end of the tunnel, but it’s definitely there and it’s really bright when you get there, he says.
Adro has an aside to say that they need to maximise their efforts in the remaining time. Not be thinking “oh no there’s still X weeks left”, be thinking “oh no, there’s only X weeks left, I better step things up!”
Cosi says they only have a short period of time with the Legends so he’s going to make sure he can get as much information and advice out of them as possible. How they survived in the White House and more importantly how they survived on the outside.
Cosi says they decided it would be nice to let them all have a cruise around the House first for a trip down memory lane.
Kristie says it feels like home. They had so many experiences that bond them together. She feels like the series 1 Losers are her family. Which she says as she starts to break into tears!
They go into the gym and Kristie says she used to hate exercise before going into the House.
Adro says they’ve never walked into the gym and not felt fear and dread, which Kristie agrees with.
Adro says he looks at the gear now and thinks there’s nothing in there he couldn’t annihilate and Kristie says she wants to get on a treadmill and go for a run, which she never would have done before!
The S2 Fatties wander into the other gym where there’s pictures of them doing exercises and challenges. A really shocking one of Munnalita punching. A cool one of Damien putting in the hard work to pull the plane.
Munnalita says he’s lost so much weight, Courtney says, “You were just a blob!” “Thanks Courtney!”
Damien says he remembers the plane pulling challenge and he remembers his friends knowing him as a strong guy so he couldn’t not do the plane pull.
S1 Fatties wander upstairs and Tracy asks who remembers the room swap!
Kristie still characterises it as a practical joke, heh. They carefully packed all the Blue Team’s stuff and switched rooms. And it kind of blew up in their face!
Tracy can laugh about it now at least.
“It was very traumatic at the time. You arseholes!” Tracy has another giggle.
Munnalita gets a little teary-eyed when they go to the trophy room and see some pictures of herself during the bungee jump.
Oh, also, Munnalita doesn’t have the horrible hair anymore! I probably should have mentioned that earlier. It’s just a nice plain black now.
Wal says they couldn’t believe how big they’d been. Kristie points out Wal in a photo and Wal can hardly believe it.
Kristie’s very proud of herself after seeing the old pictures of herself.
“Hey, look at this, it’s a me-wall!” – Adro. With the picture of the horrible, droopy manboobs!
Adro says he has all the photos at home, but they’re not hanging up or anything. Gives him shivers to see them up like that.
Adro says the Camp Eden stuff was the turnaround point for him, it’s when he discovered there was more to weightloss than just losing the kilos, it was a whole life change and personal development.
Adro says his whole life has a new outlook now.
Shannan and Michelle arrive at the White House. And find like a gajillion people in the house!
They’re both really happy to see them all. Michelle says it was great to see them, it brought the memories flooding back. She’s really happy to see they’ve kept the weight off, they’re still in shape and fit and that’s everything they could ask for.
Shannan says bringing the old contestants back at this stage of the game is incredibly important to the current contestants because the old ones know what it’s like to stay the course.
Then Shannan asks them all if they’re ready to train and Adro says if there’s one thing they learnt from The Biggest Loser, it’s that they can do anything!
Shannan takes the boys for a training session. Cosi says it’ll be the training session from hell, with all the great Legends guys.
Shannan says the Legends have done well in training and keeping fit, but they’re there to inspire the current contestants, which puts their egos on the line. No way they’re going to lie down and give up.
Shannan pairs them off, one Legend with one current Fatty, so he can get the most of everyone.
Sam says he’s lucky enough to get Damien, the biggest contestant in Biggest Loser history. Sam says he got smashed into the cross trainer a couple of times and just generally got smacked around, but everyone loves a challenge!
Damien says it was an exhilirating experience to be training hard again with the contestants.
Cosi says it was inspirational seeing the Legends have kept themself in good nick. Big Wal is a tank of a man!
Shannan says seeing the guys smashing each other is awesome! They’re having fun but the testosterone is flowing thick and fast!
Bryce smashes into Adro at one point and Shannan says you could hear the wind getting knocked out of Adro. Adro says Bryce knocked him back four foot at least. He’s having a lot of fun being back in there!
Shannan says they’re living proof that what they do there works longterm.
The girls going into the gym mostly have sadfaces, except oddly enough Tracy and Munnalita, both classic grumps from their respective seasons.
Well, and Michelle the trainer. But she often looks happy when she gets to inflict pain!
Kristie says it’s an opportunity for her to show that the girls can continue to train and continue to keep their fitness up on the outside. In the real world she has 6 kids, two businesses and a household to run, but she makes sure to put some exercise into her routine.
Michelle the fatty says it shows they can keep going on the outside and can achieve more than they thought they could.
Michelle the trainer also takes them outside for some commando crawling across the lawn.
Kristie says she doesn’t want to use any excuses because she used to do that and doesn’t anymore. But she did have one in her head, “I don’t want to get my shoes dirty! I’m a bit of a diva now!”
Michelle the trainer gets stuck into Munnalita, saying she knows commando crawling is her favourite! “The memories! The memories!” Munnalita sighs loudly and rolls her eyes with a grin.
They have a running race at the end and Kristie is determined not to let any of them beat her. Alison figures the Legends would be a lot faster than them, but she underestimated how fast. Kristie canes them all!
Then they do a surf lifesaver style one, pushing up off the ground and then run down the lawn again. Kristie cheats and gets up a little early and thus just edges out Pati.
Michelle wants the current girls to see that the ex-contestants can keep their weight off and their fitness up and they too can still be that good in a year’s time!
Tracy says the Legends then took the girls out for some afternoon tea/lunch. The training session showed that they’re all really strong.
“So who’s going to win this game, girls?” Not sure which Legend it is that says that.
Munnalita tells them that it’s obviously going to be harder for them to win, since girls find it harder to lose weight. The important thing is to make sure they have their nutrition down pat.
Alison says that’s one area where they definitely trump the boys as they’re a lot better at eating the right things.
Kristie then tells them they need to stick together and make sure there’s only ever one girl below the line. If there’s two girls below the line then one will definitely go. If you stick together, you’ll be okay.
Munnalita says if a boy goes below the line, doesn’t matter if they’re your friends, a girl needs to win it, so vote the boys off! “Why should a boy win again, and again, and again… I’m devastated!”
Kristie says so many women come up to her and say a girl can’t win the show, they’re disadvantaged, can’t lose as much weight as the men. But she thinks they can prove that while it’s a little bit harder, it can be done!
Kristie still seems to be under the delusion that all that is needed is a very motivated woman. She says, “If we want to we can succeed at anything we put our mind to.”
Because obviously Kristie just didn’t put her mind to it. And Munnalita didn’t. Etc.
It’s a bit more than just putting your mind to it, Kristie. Girls are at a disadvantage, pure and simple. Unless the show addresses the imbalance in some fashion girls will only rarely win and probably only if there are no men in the finals or the man that does make it is a slacker or deliberately throws the competition or…
Anyway!
Adro says he’d like to see Cosi succeed. Cosi reminds him of himself, because he sees some similarities in their situations.
Cosi says the main thing that frustrates him is that from Week 3 he was #1 through till now and it means people are always trying to work angles to get rid of you. He says it starts to get you down, he’s really missing his family. He’s sad all the time.
Adro says he was in much the same position.
His last memory of the bedroom they’re chatting in was the day of his elimination. He says he’d invested so much in the place. He had a big collage of photos up on the wall and he had to take them down, the dream had sort of been stolen from him. He says he started bawling and even hit the wall. He felt like he had no control anymore and felt like he did before coming on the show. He almost fell back into the old-Adro-mode, but then he realised that it was still all up to him. And he’d never let someone steal his dream.
Adro tells Cosi that he needs to make sure that everyone he does is focused on his goal, getting to the end and if not staying in front then getting back to the front. Because everyone will be gunning for him.
Adro’s hoping he can help Cosi visualise his win. He tells Cosi there’s only one person who controls his success or failure and that’s Cosi himself. Whether the goal is to win the game or win the battle for his life.
Adro says he can do so many things now that he could never have done before coming on the show. His Biggest Loser experience has been the best thing ever!
Wal’s found a note! “Ladies and Gentlemen… and Legends!”
They have to form pairs to tackle their next challenge. They have to choose a Loser Legend to be their partner. Duos must be a dude and a chick. Strength and weight will be an advantage.
They all head out onto the lawn.
Wal decides to try and make it fair and so he decides that Nicola gets to pick first. In an aside he says it’s because she’s small and light, and a bit of a cutie!
Nicola chooses Wal, saying he’s a strong and heavy guy! Wal says nobody’s got a chance against him!
Alison gets to choose next. She chooses a fellow ex-Blue in Damien! Damien’s really happy to be chosen by her.
Kirsten takes Courtney over Adro. Saying that he looks to have strength and weight over Adro.
Adro says, “I used to get picked last because I was the fat kid. Now I got picked last because I was the thin kid!”
Michelle picks Adro! She says she’s got the weight so hopefully he’s got the strength!
In an aside Michelle says that she was happy with that anyway because she wanted Adro regardless.
Cosi gets first pick and figures they’re all about the same size and about the same strength. So he goes with a fellow South Australian in Munnalita.
Munnalita says she’s very confident she can help Cosi in the challenge. She says she’ll give it her all.
Bryce is such a suck up and says, “mothers are the most strongest women of all!” So he’s chosen Kristie, who is flattered to be chosen and flattered by what he said.
Sam gets to pick next. And he’s got the dregs to choose from. Sam says he agrees with Alison and will have to take the ex-Blue, Tracy! “Awww, he’s gorgeous, we love him!” She gives a big hug. She’s happy, as the eldest she figured she’d be picked last.
Garry gets Pati. Which is conveniently who he wanted anyway! Kirsten was a little surprised that Pati was left till last since she thinks Pati is fit, plus Garry is strong and has a lot of weight.
Pati says she’s also very happy to be chosen by Garry.
Tomorrow night, the challenge is set!
“When faced with challenges they’ve conquered the impossible but nothing will prepare them for this!”
Nine ton buses! And they seem to be just dragging them up the road?
“Oh, shit, here we go again.” – Courtney
And on Sunday, Bob and Jillian return to the White House, yay!
