Biggest Loser Australia 3×45: The One With The Drama
Tonight on The Biggest Loser, Cosi and Bryce go head to head.
And there’s something about a twist and people going to war and someone calls Cosi an idiot!
Would you like to know more?
Garry says that Black looked a little shellshocked, since it was their first time in there.
Sam says it’s sad to see Carrianne gone, but it’s good to see the other guys still there.
Alison says that she’ll be okay, and now she can go home and train with her sister Nicole, so that’ll help.
Bryce thinks it’s probably another phase of the game now, with just two of them left they have to watch each other’s backs and look out for the piranhas.
Cosi says in an aside that Michelle’s decision not to vote out Bryce was a stupid decision, she’s one of the worst performers in the house and she’s voted out one of the other bad performers.
Michelle says she was a little disappointed with the chat she had with Cosi before the elimination. She says now that she didn’t think it was necessary, especially considering last week he voted out Nicole, rather than the bigger threat in Garry.
Bryce also remembers Ajay’s words about the curveball and tells the others about it. He reiterates the “what goes around comes around” bit, and sort of stares at Red.
Cosi is amused. Says he felt like he was in Year 7. Cosi says Bryce is jaded over Cosi having suggested to Michelle that Bryce should be the one to go.
Bryce then says it’s a gutless act, since Cosi has never said anything like that directly to him, or to anyone else. So apparently Bryce would rather Cosi deliberately stir shit up in as public a fashion as possible and also is aware of every conversation Cosi has ever had in the House.
Ahuuuuuuuuh. Right. Moving right along.
Bryce says he’d like to talk to Cosi about it one on one. Hmm.
Shannan and Michelle rock up. Shannan heads in to his team first. “We won?” “Nup! But we didn’t lose!”
Shannan gives Alison a smooch, Kirsten a smooch and a manly handshake for Sam. “I thought you were going to go the kiss then!” “Ohh, no way!”
Shannan’s really happy with the girls and pleased with Sam’s, too.
Alison says they’d had a horror week emotionally but even so, they didn’t end up going to elimination.
Michelle comes in to see Red. Well, Nicola and Garry sitting by themselves.
She looks shocked and leans over Nicola’s back and goes oh my god!
Meanwhile, Cosi is creeping along behind her, pulling faces and waggling his hands around and generally goofing off. Then he finally chirps in with, “Hiii old buddy!”
And Michelle about jumps out of her skin and crash tackles Cosi onto a couch. In an aside she says she might be fit, but that’s an almost instant heart attack!
Nicola explains the weigh in, saying Black lost 6 kilos in total and Garry did that on his own!
Michelle says that Cosi’s Biggest Loser title shows the commitment to the job he has, he’s a success story.
“I’m under 90! I’m under 90!” – Nicola in a singsong voice, while clapping like a spaz. Michelle is really pleased that Nicola’s weight starts with an 8 now!
Michelle wants them to take that strength into duos and singles and then on into the outside world.
Black rocks up for their training session with Commando Steve, who has 3 kettlebells, but only 2 contestants!
Steve says they can’t let it get them down. It’s a shame, but it’s behind them now, they’ve got to keep focusing, work as hard as they can and that’s all he can ask.
In an aside Steve says that there may only be two of them left, but that’s still enough for a team, as far as he’s concerned.
Michelle says that she had a bad week last week and wants to make sure it doesn’t happen again.
Steve says that he wants to see both Black Team members in the final this year. He had great success with Chris last year. He knew what it would take and Steve can see that same determination in Bryce and Michelle. Which is interesting since I don’t think us at home see anything of the sort!
Michelle says towards the end of their training session with a huge log it felt like it was 100kg.
Steve wants to let them know how proud he is of them. “They may not expect any praise from The Commando but I do have some kindness in me!”
Bryce says he thinks it’s the first time The Commando has said well done, which he found a little strange.
What the Black Team don’t know… is that was their last training session with The Commando!
Today Blue are doing a… Tibata circuit?
There’s 8 stations, you spend 20 seconds on, 10 seconds off, for four cycles.
Shannan says the idea is to make you use every part of your body, get your heart rate up as high as you can, and this is a good way to do it!
During the session Shannan is very complementary to the girls, saying while the boys and some of the girls losses have fluctuated, those two have been very consistent.
In an aside Shannan says that Blue’s strength has been the way they’ve stuck together.
Kirsten says it was really intense, really hard, but it’s good because you get to challenge yourself.
Sam says that if the final three were all Blue team members it’d be a real credit to Shannan. They owe everything to him, he’s done a great job, Sam says.
Shannan thinks this will be the last week of teams and he wants Blue to go out winners.
Shannan says that no matter what happens, he can’t break them, the game can’t break them, they’ve come so far.
Red are off in the bush training today. Today’s session will involve lugging big sandbags up a “nasty hill”. Michelle says you should never underestimate an incline and sandbags!
She says Red only have each other, though she thinks they’re a tight knit group.
Cosi says it’s unbelievable how fit you can get yourself and how quickly you can turnaround. Back in the first training session he was knackered and really only giving it 80%. Now every training session he gives it 110% and it’s very full-on.
“This is going to it, but you know it doesn’t last forever!” – Michelle
Michelle says Cosi goes for it with everything he’s got and that’s what it’s all about.
Nicola is a dream come true when it comes to training a girl, Michelle says. She doesn’t complain, she just does it! She’s doing the same weights the boys are doing and she actually came second, not that far behind Cosi.
Garry, during gruelling training sessions, will sort of give up. Garry says his knee was killing him, he has a sore tendon behind the knee. He says it used to be a struggle walking up stairs, since he used to be 206kg. Now he’s a lot lighter and fitter he can do more and the more kilos he loses, the more he can do!
Cosi didn’t think Garry wouldn’t even be able to do the hill climb, he thought he’d pull out, but he says that to Garry’s credit he stuck it out.
Michelle says the difference since the first training session is amazing. She’s confident her team has what it takes to get them through the singles part of the competition.
Alison says that diet is a huge part of their journey and weightloss. You can exercise as much as you want but if you’re not eating the right things, the fat won’t move.
Sam cracks an egg into a bowl in the meantime. Didn’t do so well, got some shell in the bowl. Then he says it looks gross while he’s whisking it up, presumably to make omelette?
Sam says it’s just the process, they’ll do intervals? 20 seconds on, 10 seconds off?
Alison says Sam’s only 19, and a male! Most of the time they don’t know what to do in the kitchen. And Sam really doesn’t have much of an idea.
Looking at it after they’re done adding ingredients, I’m not sure it’s an omelette. Or even edible! Alison gets out a proper whisk instead of the fork Sam was using. Kirsten asks why they didn’t use that at the start and Alison says Sam wanted to use a fork!
She gets a little too vigorous with her whisking and spills some out of the bowl… and onto “The Biggest Loser Cookbook.”
“Awww, it means it’s been loved, if it’s dirty!” Oh yes?
Alison says her loyalty is with Kirsten and Sam now, all the way.
Sam says if the teams do get split up now, they’ve got to stick together anyway. “Blue for liiiife!”
Kirsten says no matter what happens, pairs or singles, they’re going to make sure it’s three Blues at the end.
Everyone wanders into the weigh in room when it’s not weigh in time and Nicola says the last time this happened it was for the announcement of the Black Team.
Everyone is nervous, though Kirsten is also excited!
Ajay is there, of course, in a nice black dress with a belt done up right under her boobs. Strange place for a belt.
A drastic change is about to turn the game on its head. Rah rah, recap what’s happened so far. Supporting each other through highs and lows and today that’s all about to end.
The Red Team, The Black Team and The Blue Team no longer exist. From this moment on, they compete as singles!
Alison says she’s a little overwhelmed by the pressure and worried she won’t be able to do it.
Weigh In day now means they must stay above the Yellow Line.
Those above the line are safe from elimination. The two with the lowest percentages for the week will face elimination.
Nicola says that although the teams don’t exist anymore, the teams will still exist to some degree. Nicola is Red till the end!
Bryce says his alliance is with his Black Team member, and he’s said that all along.
But before singles begins, we get another ranking list of where people sit within the House. All the numbers will be based on how much weight they’ve lost since the first day.
In 8th place: Michelle
She doesn’t seem surprised. And isn’t concerned, she says. Since she’s not a threat to anyone.
She’s lost 20.3kg so far, 16.82% of her total bodyweight.
7th: Nicola
She’s lost 24.4kg, 21.67% of her total bodyweight.
Completely blows away Michelle’s loss. 7th isn’t great but when she’s almost 5% ahead… Sheesh!
6th: Garry
He’s lost 47.3kg, 22.94% of his total bodyweight.
5th: Bryce
He’s lost 32kg, 22.99% of his total bodyweight.
Barely edging out Garry. Go Black Team! *cough*
Sam still thinks he’s a big threat though.
4th: Alison
No surprise there.
She’s lost 30.1kg, 24.73% of her total bodyweight.
Caned Bryce. She’s really happy because she’s gone from #10 a couple of weeks ago to #4 now!
3rd: Sam
He’s lost 38.6kg, 24.97% of his total bodyweight.
Very good, Sam!
Ajay points out that being in first place makes you a target. Cosi says he doesn’t mind since if he gets kicked out then he goes home to a pregnant missus and kid, so it’s all good!
The margin is just over 1% between first and second place.
1st: Cosi
He’s lost 38.6kg, 27.41% of his total bodyweight.
Black stand there not looking at Red, not saying anything. Blue tell him he’s done well, Sam says that’s a good number to lose, a reference to their losses being identical in kilos, just not percentage as Cosi started out lighter.
Cosi is asked how he feels to be in first place and he says the look on Black Team’s face says it all, he’s stoked! “You’re an idiot,” says Bryce. Michelle mouths something that looks like it might have included the f-word.
Nobody likes a sore loser. Especially one that’s been mouthing off about “wiping the floor” with everyone. Two girls are ahead of you, suck it up and put the effort in, instead of whining for Bob and Gilligan!
Meanwhile Blue have a giggle.
In an aside Cosi says he was disappointed by the reaction of Black, he says it was downright rude. He says that Bryce must feel betrayed and can’t believe someone would put his name up for elimination.
Bryce is asked how he feels about Cosi being in the number one position. Bryce says he’d like to be a bit higher himself. There’s a lot of things that go on in the game behind closed doors, which is disappointing. But he says congratulations, he’s worked hard.
2nd: Kirsten
She’s lost 33.4kg, 26.34% of her total bodyweight.
Kirsten says it’s great to be the leading female in the game. She thinks it’s possible for a female to win the game. Ajay says everyone should take note that while Cosi is winning at the moment, Kirsten is showing all of Australia that a woman can win this game.
Uh, no Ajay. She’s showing a woman can come second! Coming second to men is no challenge!
Alison says she thinks Cosi is everyone’s number one threat. He’s very strong, loses good weight and has the ability to manipulate the game.
Ajay says the contestants should be on guard because shortly another major surprise is hurtling towards the White House. And it will be revealed very, very soon!
Ajay wishes them all good luck and says she will see them very soon!
And now we get the chat between Cosi and Bryce.
Bryce congratulates him again. He says he’s not going to deny the achievement, but what he wants to chat about is his conversation with Michelle.
Bryce says it was very sneaky and he thought Cosi was a bigger man than that.
Cosi says that what Bryce needs to understand is that he had an opportunity to chat to Michelle. If he’d been voting, Cosi would have voted Bryce out, if it had been a choice between Bryce and Carrianne. Based on “strategy”, Bryce asks, and Cosi says yes.
Cosi says they’re at a stage now where the threats go.
In an aside Bryce says that he wants to be in the White House. He was embarassed, not so much for himself, but for his girlfriend. If they go out he felt like he didn’t do her justice. He won’t be a backstabbing bandit, but he’ll do everything he can physically to stay there.
Bryce tells him that if in the future Cosi wants to try and get into the girl’s heads and do all those sorts of things, Bryce would appreciate it if Cosi would stand up and do it so everyone can see what he’s trying to do. Bryce thinks he’s telling Cosi something Cosi doesn’t know, letting him know that the others all think he’s a snake.
In an aside Cosi says that Bryce seems to think he can survive without bitching and lying and yet it’s happening every day, including by those closest to him. It’s going to happen, if you’re a threat, they’re going to try and get rid of you. Accept it and move on.
Cosi says it’ll get a lot messier and dirtier now. Cosi says if himself, Sam, Kirsten or Bryce fall below the yellow line, they’re gone. That easy.
Cosi says Bryce has played footy and after the match you always shake hands with your opponents. And he’s looked around in the weigh in room and seen the two Black Team members, “looking like smacked bums”, which he thought was bad sportsmanship, like Bryce thought the talk with Michelle was. Cosi thought they couldn’t care less.
Bryce says he was snaky about what went down before the elimination. Cosi says he will fight very hard for his spot, because he has to.
In an aside, Cosi says that if he’s going to be there and be away from his missus and kid, especially since she’s pregnant, he wants to see the rewards. So while he’s there, he’s going to go hard!
Cosi tells Bryce that from here on in, it’ll be pure strategy. If the threats are there, he’ll be more than keen on getting rid of them. Bryce says good luck to him, his focus will be on hard work and letting the rest take care of itself. He apologises for it looking like they didn’t give a shit, but good effort!
Alison and Kirsten wander into their bedroom and find stacks of new shirts in lovely colours. Pastels and bright orange and grey and even a white jumper!
Alison says it seems really strange to see Kirsten in orange!
“What colour am I going to wear?!”
Garry has his Red shirt off, “Helloooo lemon!”
Cosi changes into a teal shirt.
Nicola says it was funny seeing Garry in a lemon yellow shirt and Cosi in a teal blue.
Nicola meanwhile is in a pretty purple-y blue shirt. Cosi says she looks like Grimace!
She says it feels strange, she’s not sure she likes it!
“I look like a big slice of cheeeese!” “Ohhhh yum! nomnomnom” Nicola mimes eating him. “Ohhh, my wildest dreams are coming true.” Says Garry. Ooooh. And ewwww!
Cosi says the best thing for him when he got into the White House was seeing all the photos in the trophy room. “He did well, Adro, didn’t he?” Gee, this isn’t staged at all, is it?
Cosi says it’s a much different experience going in there now, now that he’s so close to achieving similar results. He says seeing the photos makes you realise you’re almost there. Lose another 15 odd kilos and you’re on par with past contestants.
Garry and Sam are having a chat in the gym where there’s more photos. Garry says the person who inspired him the most was Damien, since he was 216kg when he entered the house. He’s hoping that his journey will inspire someone like Damien inspired him.
Wouldn’t pin too many hopes on that, Garry.
Michelle and Bryce are looking at some pictures in the trophy room after Cosi and Nicola have left. Michelle was inspired by Pati, which of course is just a coincedence. Bryce was inspired by Wal. Bryce wants to leave the show looking like a man should, with big muscles and so on.
The girls wanted to challenge the boys to a duel. Kirsten’s in the #2 position, Cosi’s in #1. Michelle says they want to prove that girls can win this competition.
All the boys are dressed up like gangsta rappers in their white hoodies with baseball hats on their heads in various ways, sunnies on, flashing fists.
“Ladies and gentlemen, the man you’ve been waiting to see, he’s 200 pounds of twisted steel and sex appeal, from the somethingsomething of the White House, Andrew ‘Cosi’ Costello!” – Sam
The competition is to row for 3km.
Sam puts a bunch of talcum powder on Cosi’s hands for him, Cosi rubs some in then blows the rest off into Kirsten’s face from a couple of feet away. She sort of grimaces and grins.
First one to 3km. Loser takes on kitchen duties for a week!
Both of them go out hard. Cosi says he got off to a stronger start but he hadn’t taken into consideration how far 3km actually is. He says he spent too much of his energy early on, thinking it would only take 3 or 4 minutes, but it’s going to take a lot longer.
Kirsten says she really wanted to beat Cosi. Because she’s competitive, but also because it’s Cosi! She wants to show that the girls can beat the guys. She wants to raise the girl’s hopes and also hoping to not have to clean the kitchen for a week!
“It was all fun and games… to a point. Really? Secretly? We were just dying for Kirsten to win.” – Alison
Bryce says all the time the entourages are sledging each other and starting fights in the corner. It was fun for them, but for the two rowers it was hard work!
Kirsten says she was getting really tired towards the end of the race, but so was Cosi. So it’s just a matter of hanging in there and trying to get there first.
Sam says Cosi seemed to start slowing down a little and he looked over at Kirsten and her muscles are huge, she might actually be able to beat Cosi!
Cosi says he’s quietly confident, he knew he could finish strong, he has a strong finish up his sleeve.
And, finally, Cosi wins! Yay! Go boys!
Cosi says if you don’t think the game is going to get harder, tougher, more physical, more mental and more stressful, then you’re kidding yourself!
Tomorrow night is “the biggest, baddest Temptation EVER!”
“So. Many. Pancakes.” – Alison
Breakfast is served! But at what cost?
One of the breakfast meals is over 300 calories all by itself.
Cosi thinks everyone will want a piece of the action.
And later in the week in a blast from the past the “legends” return to help conquer the greatest challenge the game has ever seen. Pulling 9 ton buses is apparently a greater challenge than pulling the planes. That may be, but the planes were cooler!
Also, we get a shot of Adro and Michelle paired up for their pull. And Munnalita saying, “Welcome back to The Biggest Loser!”
