Biggest Loser Australia 3×31: Week 5 Weigh In
Tonight on The Biggest Loser, who will win the “Pigs in Mud” challenge?
And for the first time, Black weigh in with the rest of the White House contestants, while the Red v Blue competition heats up, with the closest result so far!
Would you like to know more?
Garry, Michael and Bryce are in the final round of the three way tug of war. Whoever wins gets the right to decide who will have immunity.
Garry goes out hard, Bryce gets yanked across the mud, Michael gets yanked across the mud a bit too.
Garry keeps trying, keeps pushing forward.
Michael’s thinking he could get the flag, he could hold it high. He gets up on his feet and starts leaning into it.
Carrianne says Black is looking good. Garry’s exhausted from the earlier rounds, so if Bryce can pull at the right time, they could win!
But no, Garry keeps leaning into it and grabs up the flag and lets out a huge roar. He says he’s not felt that good in a long time!
Red come out onto the mud to congratulate him.
Cosi says he’s been over 200kg for many years and he’s out there in the mud and winning a physical challenge. It was great, nothing better than seeing him win that for them.
Sam says after Garry won it degenerated into a bit of fun and games. Mud starts getting thrown around a bit. Alison gives Nicole a hug and then tries to push her over, but Nicole gets her first.
And then it’s on! Mud getting thrown around a lot, lots of people being tackled into the mud.
Cosi and JJ square off and Cosi spins him around and throws him down in the mud.
JJ says he’s very wary of Cosi now. If Cosi thinks JJ will be helping him along the way, he’s very much mistaken!
Bryce intercedes at this point and yanks Cosi off of JJ.
Cosi’s not sure where he stands with JJ right now.
Alison says JJ and Cosi have stuff to sort out but she hopes they don’t! She doesn’t want JJ aligning himself with Cosi!
But Cosi has such a smooth tongue. Apparently. And JJ is trusting.
Red now have to decide who should have immunity.
Lots of congratulations for Garry winning first though.
Cosi says they can either give it to someone on Red or Blue, cause Black already have it.
Nicola suggests just giving it to Garry, since it was his win.
Cosi rightly points out in a side bit that giving it to someone on their team wouldn’t really help that much. I’d come to the same conclusion earlier and think I have it figured out – Alison will get it. Why? Well, because she’s the “weakest” Blue Team member, meaning if Blue go to elimination, they can’t dump her and instead have to drop either the biggest loser for last week, Kirsten, or one of their boys.
And if Red go to elimination? They can just dump Nicole. Problem solved!
Nicole is meanwhile scuffing her feet and looking at the ground a lot.
Cosi says to his team that he thinks they will win the weigh in, and quite comfortably. So what could they do to the Blues. Nicole suggests they give it to a weak player, make them eliminate a strong one. They all agree on this just as Ajay hollers out that time is up.
Red also get a cool trophy!
Meanwhile Ajay is standing on a platform out in the mud. Cheat! Garry offers her a big hug and Ajay cracks up. Garry hugs the trophy instead.
Garry says they decided not to give immunity to someone on Red, they decided to give it to someone on Blue instead. They decided to give it to… Alison! Heh.
Alison says she felt a bit embarassed, because it basically pegs her as the weakest link.
Sam says he’s feeling quite vulnerable on Blue, so he hopes they don’t go to elimination. Cosi says he hopes they don’t go to elimination. I suspect other people said they hoped they don’t go to elimination too but thankfully we only got a couple of people saying the same thing this time!
After the ad break we get a special catch up with ex-contestant Debbie, doing a photoshoot. “I have shape, I have waist! Curves! Look out, dangerous curves ahead.” Oh, we’ll look out. Just not in the way you think. Yikes!
To be fair, she does look a lot better than she did. Debbie says she’s close to her goal weight of 75kg. Unless she’s five foot nothing, I have my doubts!
She says she’ll be sexy at the finale though!
Michelle arrives at the House knowing there was a challenge and wondering what the result was.
She goes into the trophy room and Garry comes in bearing the trophy. Michelle is gobsmacked then jumps up on him and gives him a huge hug. Garry says it shows Michelle thinks he’s important and that meant a lot to him.
That’s 3 challenges in a row they’ve won.
Michelle says it was fantastic they won and she’s very proud of Garry and she knows how much it meant to him.
Michelle asks what else was on offer and Garry explains they’d given immunity to Blue. Michelle says she was shocked, but then they explained the strategy – they’re going to win the weigh in and then with Alison having immunity, three of the “heavy hitters” in Blue are up for elimination!
They decided before the competition started that they were doing it for Michelle, to repay her faith in them. So Garry hands over the trophy to Michelle and she’s all, “Awwww!” She’s obviously very touched by the gesture.
It’s not really that big a deal. You can’t really divide a trophy up four ways anyway!
Shannan rocks up and Blue explain the challenge. Sam says whether they win or not, nothing changes, they go as hard as they can and they train as hard as they can.
Shannan says all he can ask for is that his team give 100%. He’d much rather win the weigh ins than the challenges.
Shannan’s happy about Alison having immunity. He says it was predictable that Red would pick her as the weak link – but she’s not. But if it comes down to elimination, they’re going to be faced with a horrendous decision. They’ll have to eliminate one of the strongest players in the game.
Last Chance Training time for Red!
Michelle takes her trophy into the gym to spur her team on.
Cosi says this is the most important session in the history of the Reds.
Michelle says Nicole came into Last Chance with a new attitude. Michelle thinks Nicole is looking at herself as a team of one. Nicole confirms in an aside that she feels very vulnerable. If they go to elimination she’ll probably be up.
Michelle is surprised by Nicola every time. She’s got all the signs of having a great loss this week.
Michelle says Cosi’s goal is 6kg. He always goes hard, he’s always ready to train.
Garry can feel the strength in his legs and heart, he has a new passion to excel the best he can. Michelle asks if we’ve seen Garry in training lately. Conveniently, we get to see Garry in training as she says that! Garry pulls Michelle across the gym.
Michelle says he knows how to pull the mongrel out, and that came through in the challenge and in the training session today.
Michelle gives his sweaty head a big hug as he’s bent over sucking in deep breaths.
Michelle says that she always believes her team works hard but this week there’s something in the air, the Red Team are gunna win, she declares!
Blue is out on the lawn using the spin bikes. Shannan’s set the resistance way up for Michael’s bike.
Shannan explains that hill climbing on the spin bikes will set your butt and thighs on fire. To get the blood down there, your heart’s got to beat, so it’s a massive fat burner as well.
Michael says the weigh in wasn’t far from his mind during this session. Every time it got tough he thought to himself that it could come down to grams, so push a bit harder!
Sam feels a bit of pressure on himself to get good numbers, since Blue had taken him back.
Shannan says that Kirsten is the biggest loser for the females, Sam is the second biggest loser overall and Michael is pulling good numbers. If they lose one of them, they’re in trouble!
After another ad break we catch up with Monica, who was eliminated in the first week.
She… looks a little better. I think the main reason she looks prettier is she has a much better hairdo. She used to have blonde streaks at the front of her hair and it just made her look terrible. Now it’s all brown it looks much nicer.
She used to be a size 22, now she’s only 16-18. She’s closer than she ever thought she’d be to her goal weight.
When we see her at the finale, she’ll be even smaller, more confident and looking good, she says!
And now it’s time to trundle into the weigh in room.
Everyone has worked hard, nobody wants to go to elimination, everyone hopes they win. You know the drill by now, right?
Ajay’s in a… fairly bland grey dress.
Black will not be competing at this weigh in, but they will hop on the scales to see how they’ve gone.
JJ will be first up. He was not in the States with Jillian and Bob, he’d been losing weight at home, and now it’s time to see how well he’s done.
JJ says he’s a lot more confident as a Black Team member than he was as a Red Team member.
He thinks it’s important to prove himself to Black, but also to Bob and Jillian, who got him back in the game.
JJ’s starting weight: 131.6kg
JJ’s current weight: 119.1kg
JJ’s loss: 12.5kg
That’s okay. Carrianne says she thinks he’s got the potential to lose good numbers each week.
JJ says he’d like to get to 100kg, he’d be happy there. Then he’d like to find a “dolly” to settle down with and have a couple of little JJs and maybe a little AJ! Giggles all round.
Carrianne gets up next.
Carrianne’s starting weight: 111kg
Carrianne’s current weight: 97.3kg
Carrianne’s loss: 13.7kg
Wow, that’s even more than JJ. And she’s under the 100kg mark and Carrianne’s very happy, she’d wanted to get under 100kg at least.
Carrianne says from Day One her goal was to be the first female biggest loser and she was going to try and pull Nicole along as far as she can. She knows she’s a lot stronger than Nicole and she’ll do whatever she can to ensure Nicole will be at the finale with her.
Next up is Michelle!
Michelle’s starting weight: 120.7kg
Michelle’s current weight: 105kg
Michelle’s loss: 15.7kg
Extraordinary! She’s very happy. In an aside she says she’s come a long way. When she first arrived in LA she was just a little girl but Bob and Jillian really taught her a lot about herself and changed who she is.
Nicola says Black Team are likely to pull through and smash them in the next weigh in, which is something to beware of.
Bryce is next. He says he felt like a whale walking up to the scales.
Bryce’s starting weight: 139.2kg
Bryce’s current weight: 115.2kg
Bryce’s loss: 24kg
Bryce says he’d like to be a bit further, but he’s okay with that. It’s a good start. He says some of the other guys in the room are impressive and he aspires to be where they are.
The new look Black Team? Bryce says it’s been refreshing having JJ in the team. He’d said in LA that he’d like it to be JJ. “He’s quite the funny young chap! Controversial at times, but boredom’s a killer. So he’s definitely stopped my boredom.”
Nicola says he’s looking really thin already, you could see the outline of his abs poking through. He looked really slim around his torso. I guess she looked at him quite a bit?
Now the real weigh in begins. And Blue are first to the scales.
Alison leads off.
Alison’s previous weight: 103.6kg
Alison’s current weight: 97.8kg
Alison’s loss: 5.8kg
“Wow! I wasn’t expecting that!” “You’re in shock?” “Just a little!” Sam calls out well done to her.
She’s now under 100kg for the first time in at least 9 years. She’s had two babies since then and slowly got bigger and bigger.
She says this journey has been about more than just weightloss. There’s a big part of herself she doesn’t know and never has known. She was adopted when she was a very young baby and always knew she was adopted.
She’s never looked for her birth mother before, but now she’s considering doing it. She wants her birth mother to know that she’s had a wonderful life and she’s really happy and had wonderful adoptive parents and an amazing upbringing. She wants to show her real mum that she’s a good person, because to give up a baby would be the hardest thing in the world to do.
Michael’s very proud of her after her admission today. He says it showed her mental strength is amazing.
Next up is Sam, for the first time on Blue in a couple weeks! He’d be happy with 3-4kg but would love 5-6.
Sam’s previous weight: 127.9kg
Sam’s current weight: 121.9kg
Sam’s loss: 6kg
Go Sam! He says it feels pretty good and to be back with the Blues again, it just feels right.
Bryce says he was chuffed with what Sam said on the scales. Bryce is a few years older than Sam but he’s a lovely young kid and he’s got a lot of time for Sam.
Halfway mark and Blue has lost a total of 11.8kg. Sam’s feeling a little more confident now.
Kirsten’s turn now. She’s nervous after Alison and Sam did good numbers.
Kirsten’s previous weight: 105.4kg
Kirsten’s current weight: 100.1kg
Kirsten’s loss: 5.3kg
Ajay has trouble reading out 100.1kg without laughing. Kirsten takes it well. She’s happy with 5.3kg, but being over 100kg is still a bit daunting. Her end goal is around the 75kg mark.
Nicole is thinking they’ve lost it, since Blue is getting great results a week after already getting great results.
Michael’s last.
Michael’s previous weight: 148.9kg
Michael’s current weight: 142.6kg
Michael’s loss: 6.3kg
Another good result from Michael, who says it’s a relief. It’s awesome, good! He’s quite happy now, he’s lost over 30kg now. He was heavier than Sean at the start. Now he can’t wait to get back into the footy again.
Apparently he went and spent a year in the US and came back fat. What a shocker!
Michael tears up on the scales. He says he was marked with a lot of potential, but for 6 years he went backwards. People would come up to him… But then Alison interrupts to say that it upsets her to see him upset, because Michael needs to be proud of himself. He’s such a beautiful man!
Michael says in an aside that people have said they’ve seen a lot of change in him lately and he agrees with them. He’s not a quitter anymore!
Blue Combined Loss: 23.4kg
Blue Percentage: 4.82%
Red will need to lose 24.8kg between the four of them. 6.2kg each. Nicole says she looks around and she figures Nicola hasn’t lost 6.2kg and she doesn’t think she’s lost 6.2kg herself, either. So it’s anyone’s game, for some reason.
Nicola steps up first.
Nicola’s previous weight: 97.6kg
Nicola’s current weight: 92.5kg
Nicola’s loss: 5.1kg
Very impressive! Lots of “Go Nics!” And cheers from her team. She’s quite happy, she didn’t think she’d be able to pull over 4kg, so to know she can get over 5kg was very reassuring.
“Go you Reds!” – Garry
Leaves 19.7kg between 3 remaining members.
Nicole is next.
Nicole’s previous weight: 121.7kg
Nicole’s current weight: 116.3kg
Nicole’s loss: 5.4kg
Just barely scraped ahead of Nicola. Red is quite happy with her though!
“We’re screwed!” – Kirsten to Alison.
Cosi thinks they’re in with a slight chance now!
Nicole says she didn’t think she’d lose 20kg so quickly.
Ajay says Carrianne has said her loyalty was to Black over Nicole. Does Nicole feel the same? She says she was chosen by Red and she’ll stick with Red. She can see Carrianne at home! “So while we’re still in teams, yeah, my loyalty lies with my team for sure!”
Cosi says it’s a load of “fluff”. Every single person in the White House is a strategic person and the ones that are the most strategic are the ones who say they’re not! Cynical much?
Just Garry and Cosi to go, with 14.3kg still required. Ouch. Cosi says it’s a big ask.
Cosi faces the scales first. Cosi figures he has a 6 in him, leaving about 8 for Garry, so it’s not looking good.
Cosi’s previous weight: 116.5kg
Cosi’s current weight: 109.2kg
Cosi’s loss: 7.3kg
Cosi’s stoked. Garry’s quite relieved as well. Cosi’s also happy to be under 110kg for the first time in years. He tells Ajay he’s starting to like who he’s becoming. Apparently Garry’s told Cosi that he’s even stopped snoring.
He says he met his missus in around 1995 and once he knew he had her hook, line and sinker, he started stacking it on. He’s hoping to look “half decent” by the time she has the baby, so he won’t look like a monster in the baby photos.
Garry’s last. He needs 7kg or more. Nicola’s confident he can do it, Alison thinks it will be tight!
Garry’s previous weight: 177.1kg
Garry’s current weight: 168.7kg
Garry’s loss: 8.4kg
“YAHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!” Garry says it’s an awesome feeling, he wishes he could bottle it and save it for the times he feels down. Nicola’s happy for him, it’s the boost he needed.
Red win the weigh in. Dangit.
Ajay says Garry has lost 40kg so far.
Red Combined Loss: 26.2kg
Red Percentage: (Not stated.)
Cosi is the biggest loser of the week, giving them the power of The Warehouse this week.
Blue will now have to face elimination and with Alison having immunity, it’s down to Kirsten, Michael or Sam.
“Worst weigh in ever!” – Alison
Tomorrow night… “We’re going to put each other’s name down.” – Sam
Firm friendships and real relationships… Mr Voiceover Man being a tosser as usual.
The girls can be heard saying it’s like choosing between brothers. How do you choose between them?
Later this week, “What lies beneath the water will make Biggest Loser history.” – Ajay
“It’s the biggest bribe ever.” $50,000.
Presumably $50,000 for anyone who wants to go home right now? It shocks Alison, whatever it is. Which means Alison won’t be going home tomorrow night!
Oh, right, she has immunity… well. Watch tomorrow night to see who goes home!
