Biggest Loser Australia 3×23: The Black Team Is Revealed!
Previously on The Biggest Loser, Garry made a pig of himself by eating 91 jaffas… and then tried to blame it all on teammate Sam.
Tonight, Red must confront trainer Michelle… and the Black Team’s existence is revealed to the White House.
They are coming…
Would you like to know more?
Michelle and Shannan jog up the driveway again… and guess what, they don’t know what’s going to have happened!
Michelle says it’s simply a case of finding out how much damage her team has done to themselves today!
Shannan walks in to the lounge room to see his Blue Team’s smiling faces. He can tell right away that they stuck together and didn’t take part in Temptation.
Shannan wants to guess how many calories they had and guesses zero, which is right!
Shannan tells them they should be proud, that’s what he was talking about last time, stick to what you believe in.
Michael then reveals Sam’s trickery and Garry’s 91 jaffas eaten. Which causes Shannan to just burst out laughing.
Garry says he wasn’t looking forward to facing Michelle.
Michelle says her Team is looking like they always look – somewhat guilty, somewhat sheepish. Can’t look her in the eye.
Michelle braces herself for the description of the Temptation.
Cosi and Sam own up to their totals. Sheridan owns up to her 3 and shows Michelle her watch which shows that she’s already burnt off the calories. Cosi has a side bit imitating Sheridan, saying she’s pathetic.
Then Michelle gives death glare in Garry’s direction. “What happened?”
Nicole says you could cut the air with a knife when it’s Garry’s turn.
“I went for it. I was desperate to hear from family.” “How many did you have?” “You really do not want to know.” “How many?” “Ninety.”
Michelle can’t seem to take it in. She has a side bit saying she was dumbfounded. He’s only been there 4 weeks. Doesn’t have kids, doesn’t have grandkids he’s never seen before. He’s a 32 year old grown man!
Garry then tries to shift the blame again by saying he’s dirty on Sam for playing the prank.
Michelle says that his attempt to shift the blame set off alarm bells.
She tells him that it’s going to keep coming up in his life, his issues with food, and he hasn’t worked very far through it.
Michelle says that you come in there to get your life back. Temptation will be thrown in front of you because it’s thrown in front of you “out there”. If you can’t stand your ground for four weeks, what chance have you got out there?
7593.
“That is how many calories the Red Team has eaten in all 3 Temptations.” – Michelle then rips up the piece of paper with that written on it.
She’s disappointed in the Red Team, they’re constantly using excuses. Excuses not to eat well, excuses not to train, even blaming other people and she’s done with it! She’s over it!
Michelle says they’re always trying to justify things to her, but really they’re trying to justify it to themselves.
She gets them to cast their minds back to how they felt on Day One.
“Garry, nobody held a gun to your head and asked you to eat 91 chocolates.” – Michelle.
Cosi says she has a grumpy look in her eye, if you were married to her and she came home like that you’d just pack your bags, you wouldn’t bother hanging around!
Michelle hops up on Garry’s back and makes him do step ups. Nicola thinks Garry’s going to break any second now.
Then she has him run round the room, then squat against the wall while she stands on his legs.
Garry says he’s starting to wonder whether the pain is worth it. He doesn’t clarify whether he means the pain is worth losing weight or whether the pain was worth it for the jaffas…
Nothing but bad news for Blue since Sam was stolen away, Shannan says. Then things started getting better again, like getting Yoshi the Japanese chef!
Shannan decides to get Yoshi to teach Blue how to cook their own Japanese food. He says not only will they impress their friends when they get home, it’s also really great for them.
Yoshi teaches them how to cook miso flavoured salmon with mushrooms and carrots, plus english spinach rolled up into little japanese rolls. Nothing artificial, no preservatives, nothing processed, just good natural food.
Yoshi puts a very thin layer of the sauce stuff on the salmon, “Because I feel pressure from here!” She jokes with Shannan.
Shannan says the master strategy for any successful weightloss plan is to control your diet. Resist Temptation, make healthy, smart choices and stick with it long term.
Michael has a try of it. “That’s unreal. That’s heaps better cooked. Why do you eat the raw stuff?” Yoshi and the rest have a giggle at that.
Meanwhile Michelle is still caning her team in the gym. She tells them she doesn’t want them to come back from Temptation feeling bad, she wants them to come in and feel strong and feel good.
Michelle hops on Cosi’s back while he does pushups and he actually manages to do some, very impressive!
She wants them to know they deserve more, a better life than this.
Afterwards Michelle says it tears her apart to see people their age being as unhappy as they’ve been for so long. “That kills me.”
She wants them to have a life that they love, they see a fantastic future for themselves.
Garry sort of shakes his head and makes a face at that.
Garry stays behind after the session and thinks things through. Michelle comes back and asks if he’s alright. He says the words she came up with today were exactly the right ones. He says that Temptation the last couple of weeks had just seemed part of the game.
Back at home he’d go have a pizza though his Mum would tell him not to, he’d get fat, he doesn’t care what she says or anyone says. He doesn’t know what’s taken him so long to realise that. He doesn’t know how he got to 32 without realising he doesn’t have control over his life.
Meanwhile a tear is rolling down Michelle’s cheek. Awwwwww!
She says it’s taken a while to get through to him and to be a part of it is an honour, and fairly humbling.
“Don’t ever forget today!” – Michelle
Meanwhile, in Americaland…
Bob says the Black Team is stronger now Steven the Quitter’s gone home. Bob says they can’t linger on it, or mourn for him, they’ve got to move on!
Bob decides to take them for some one on one time today. While he’s training Bryce you can see a lot of quite fit people training in the background. They don’t look like Loser contestants so I suspect it’s just a regular gym?
Anyway, Bob is loving his job. Bryce sweating and shaking. If any of them are ready to go back to the House, it’s Bryce!
Michelle has come a long way too. She’s gotten a lot stronger mentally and physically, she says. It’s a great feeling. “One more week and I’ll be ready!” “One more week and you HAVE to be ready.” Looks like they’re coming home soon!
Carrianne? Bob makes the bow down and worship motion. He loves Carrianne. He says she wants it, she wants to be the first female Biggest Loser.
She says she’s not going to give up for anything and nothing will stop her now.
Bob has taught her that she can be the first ever female Biggest Loser. And she won’t let him down.
Back in Australia, Red has been tied together to promote some teamwork. They have to jog around the park while tied together.
Nicole says that there are people in the team who’re good runners, and some who aren’t.
“When it starts getting hard I want you thinking about the reasons why you’re here!”
Garry is detached from the line while Michelle has a chat to him. Sheridan is now the leader of the pack. Nicola says Sheridan is going quite slow, trying to encourage her to go faster.
And suddenly she unclips her belt and runs off into the distance. Um, okay? Cosi says she ran into the Never-Never, she’s run off like Forrest Gump!
Sheridan says she’s had a rough couple of weeks in her team. She’s been trying to keep it together and sometimes she’s good at it, sometimes she’s not.
She says she’s in a team where there’s some sharks. Cosi is definitely a shark. Cosi has a big fat wide mean streak.
As Sheridan comes back Cosi says there’ll be an excuse coming, oh I’m so sorry guys, etc.
And whaddaya know, Sheridan’s first word is sorry!
Nicola has video diary bit saying that she was all fine, fine, everything’s fine, when clearly it wasn’t!
Cosi gives her a ribbing, saying the tears have dried up. Sheridan’s unimpressed and starts swearing, saying she wasn’t crying. Don’t say she was crying or she’ll punch him. Oooh!
Apparently she had to go pee. And Cosi rightly points out that she should just say that.
“Sheridan has got to be one of the most insecure, immature, attention seeking girls that I have ever met in my entire life!” – Cosi
Michael and Sheridan head off near the fountain for a lovey-dovey chat. Michael says it’s been hard but having someone to talk with has really helped.
Sheridan repeats the tired old whinge about not having had a boyfriend at 26 which is sad.
Michael tells her that he’d like to hold her hand, put his arm around her, but there’s no option. It’ll get used against them.
LAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAME. LAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAME. Just pash her you pansy!
Sheridan says she loves spending time with him and he’s been a lot of support and a dear friend.
Michael says the others must know there’s some sort of connection, but maybe not the full extent of it.
Michael says there’s a genuine connection there and he’s worried that Cosi will use this good thing against her and he’s already had to withstand 20-25 comments about Sheridan, all in a negative way. Enough is enough, he says, if he keeps making cracks, Michael’s going to challenge him to a duel if he has to!
Sheridan says she’s in a bizarre situation where she’s allowing a boy to look after her. She’s never let a boy look after her before! She’s never been in a position where she’s needed looking after. But she needs it now. And if anyone will, Michael will.
He says he’ll do everything he can to make sure she stays there.
Red and Blue get up early in the morning to head to the weigh in room. Which is unusual, since it’s not weigh in day. Michelle and Shannan have also been called in unexpectedly.
Ajay’s wearing a very simple, very pretty dress.
Black, naturally.
Ajay says they’re still in teams at the moment but today it’s just the individual versus the numbers.
It’s time to find out who amongst them is the Biggest Loser so far.
A cunning pretence, Ajay, I commend you!
Michelle says this was clearly devised to get them all thinking about who’s the biggest threat. And Shannan says it would also show which team is ahead!
Nicole is first up. Apparently because she’s 11th?
Nicole’s percentage so far: 8.36%
Nicole puts a good spin on it by saying the only way is up!
Alison’s percentage so far: 8.96%
Nicola’s percentage so far: 9.77%
Nicola’s happy with her loss so far, it’s been consistent. If she can keep going that way for the entire game, she’ll be really happy.
8th? Michael. Bwahahaha.
Michael’s percentage so far: 10.46%
Lowest of all the guys.
Garry’s percentage so far: 10.57%
Sheridan’s percentage so far: 10.66%
6th overall, which Sheridan is pleased with.
Kirsten’s percentage so far: 10.8%
Shannan is very pleased, Kirsten’s the highest ranked female. She’s determined and gives 100% in training.
Sam’s percentage so far: 12.23%
Quite a gap between him and Kirsten. Sam’s not surprised, since he’s been doing the math each week for himself. He’s quite happy sitting up there.
Michelle finds it extraordinary that the top three has two older men, one of whom has an injury that means he can barely walk, the other has a heart condition which means all he can do is walk! They’re men who’ve never had any limitations on their diet and now with good nutrition, the weight is falling off them!
Mr Voiceover Man teases for the after the break bit saying the trainers are furious… And then a shot of Shannan grinning and saying, “Bring it on, Yanks!” Oh yeah, he looks furious to me!
John’s not eligible for the prizemoney, though he’s in the top three. Garry wants to see him go all the way to prove it can be done by anyone.
Sean’s percentage so far: 12.77%
Not far ahead of Sam. Shannan’s really impressed because he’s an insulin dependent diabetic and has a heel spur. Sean’s really happy, he’s stoked with what he’s been able to do while being there.
John’s percentage so far: 13.04%
Ajay gives him mad props. John says it wasn’t about financial gain for him, it’s about getting himself right. Then he starts crying.
Shannan says he should be an inspiration to anyone.
Leaving the Biggest Loser to be revealed as Cosi of all people.
Cosi’s percentage so far: 13.07%
Just scraping ahead of John, but first he is!
Ajay warns him he’s now a marked man. Cosi grins. Cosi has a side bit saying he’ll just keep trying to lose as much as he can, as quick as he can. When it’s his time to go, he’ll be grateful for everything he’s learnt there, it’s no big problem.
But there’s still one very important announcement for them all.
It’s been 3 weeks since they were selected on the lawn of the White House. Fifteen were chosen, and fifteen were sent packing.
Or so they thought!
“Red Team, Blue Team… You are not alone.” Cue old footage from the earlier episodes. Carrianne, Michelle and Bryce talking about how they felt on being rejected.
And then the Commando rocks up again. A lot of stunned looks on the faces of the White Housers and Shannan looks stoic while Michelle can hardly look at the screen.
“Who wants to beat the guys in the House? Get up the hill!” – Commando
Michelle is staring daggers at the screen. She thinks that the Commando was going to be their trainer… and then they find out.
“Hey, it’s Bob and Jillian.”
Michelle throws a look to Shannan who raises his eyebrows at her.
Lots of really shocked faces now on the Blue and Red teams.
“We have a Black Team that is about to come in there and wipe the floor with your people.” – Bob
“Bring it on. Bring it on, Yanks.” – Shannan
“Good, great, we’re ready.” – Michelle
They do some quick flashes of each contestant. When Carrianne comes on, Nicole claps and laughs like a spaz.
Then they flash Steven up on screen? Uh. Yeah, he quit and went home, remember?
“I don’t like to lose.” – Jillian
Carriane does an impressive leap onto a step and Nicole claps her hand over her mouth just as she starts mouthing, “Ffff…”
“There is this force being built to come back into that White House and just start kicking ass and taking names.” – Bob
“The competition is now on.” – Carrianne
“Bring it, bitch!” – Nicole
“You kicked us out, we’re coming back.” Helloooooo? Steven quit! Stop showing his quitting ass!
“This Black Team is coming home…” – Bob
Dead silence in the Weigh In Room afterwards. Cosi says Shannan and Michelle weren’t happy.
Shannan says this was supposed to be their season. It was time for them to show everyone how they do it. And now Bob and Jillian are back and throwing challenges at them. He looked at Michelle, who looks unimpressed as well.
Michelle says sending the 15 home was one of the hardest things she’s ever had to do. Cue footage of her telling Bryce he can do it on the outside, she saw what he can do.
John says he’s happy for them having gotten a second chance. Steven he remembers facing up to Shannan. He gave it his all.
Shannan says Steven had told him he had a daughter and he didn’t want his daughter to have to put him in a box. “Here’s a man who has got every reason to do extremely well.”
“When I see Steven, man I’m going to give him a huge hug. He’s a good kid.” – John. Might have to wait a while. Heh.
Blue Team were quite upset, Nicole said. Shannan says Nicole was the only one genuinely excited.
Nicole says she thought Carrianne might be at home sharing chips with her dog, when in reality she’s in LA!
Shannan remembers he was the one who made them choose which would stay and which would go home.
Nicole says she sits in bed every night wondering what Carrianne is up to. She’s happy to know her sister is doing the same things, she’s been training hard and looks fierce and strong. She’s probably her number one competition right now.
“Twin against twin. How hardcore is that?” – Michelle
“Carrianne? Bring it, bitch. Because this is my place!” – Nicole says in a video diary, with a big grin on her face.
Shannan says he and Michelle are proud of their teams. For Bob and Jillian to say they’re going to wipe the floor with them? It just fires him up more.
Sheridan didn’t think Bob and Jillian would be involved at all. “You can’t bring these Yanks in now, and expect that they can just come in, when Shannan and Michelle have been doing the hard yards with us.”
Ajay says the top eleven are sorted but there’s still four others in the game. Three, Ajay. Stupid time differences!
Michelle says she has no doubt Black has been training hard but they’ve not been under the same amount of pressure that Red and Blue have been under. They don’t know what it’s like to live in a house with fifteen other people, they don’t know what it’s like to go to elimination.
“They do know what it’s like to sit on a plane and go to LA!” – Michelle
Ajay tells them they don’t know if it’s today or tomorrow, but she can assure them of one thing… “They are coming.”
Shannan says it doesn’t matter when, they’re just going to keep playing the game and keep winning the weigh ins.
“The fact that there’s now another team on board and even better they’re being trained by Bob and Jillian. I’m only getting started! You just watch.” – Michelle
Back in America Bob tells us that Red and Blue know about the Black Team but what they don’t know is that Steven is gone, which only makes Black stronger!
Bob says it’s nearly time for them to go home and really find the competitor that lives in all three of them.
Tomorrow night, White House peoples are reeling from the Black Team revelation.
“This is the White House, it’s not the Black House!” – John
“It’s all healthy competition, until someone loses an eye.” – Michelle. Them’s fighting words!
Mr Voiceover Man says they have a “tiresome challenge”. Because it involves tires. Get it?
It’s also elimination day. So it really will be “win or go home”. Which means Blue is boned as they only have three fit members…
