Season 3, Episode 11: The Walk #2 – The Snores Strike Back
Previously, on The Biggest Loser… Sheridan got forked. Repeatedly. She took a huge load in her mouth.
Ahem.
Tonight on The Biggest Loser… The Walk! Sheridan heads off to Change The Game Forever!
Before, or after, being made to pay by Michelle in the gym.
And The Black Team gets taken by Bob to new heights… up a really big hill. And for some reason some of them were wandering around with sticks in their hair. Which is a bit odd. Will there be an explanation?
Perhaps you’d find out if you’d click the bloody read more link already?
Nicola and Sheridan decided to get up early and make breakfast in bed for Nicole, since it’s her 24th birthday and she’s away from her twin sister for her birthday for the first time ever. Nicole is very pleased by all the attention as the red team huddles around and has breakfast in bed with her. Very sweet of them.
(I don’t know if anything very significant was said in there, I missed about 10 seconds due to a stuffup. How unlike me to stuff something up!)
Nicole says that Carrianne is probably doing something fun with family or friends but so long as she’s enjoying herself, that’s all that matters.
Carrianne, of course, is off in America with the Black Team! Who also bust in very early in the morning. With presents, no less!
They got her a frisbee! Those guys are awesome!
Carrianne would like to wish Nicole happy birthday and hopes she’s still in the White House.
Bob decides to take Black out of the gym today, they’ve spent too much time in the gym and being in beautiful California, in the Santa Monica mountains, they’re going on a hike!
Carrianne’s not been on a hike since high school.
Bob boggles, saying he couldn’t believe that the Aussies hadn’t been on a hike, living in Australia? “Are you kidding me?!”
Bob loves that it’s Carrianne’s birthday. Nicole’s somewhere across the ocean, having the exact same birthday!
Bob tells her she’ll remember this birthday for a long time!
In a side bit, Bob says that Carrianne is really dialled in on the situation.
Michelle says she looked up and saw hills upon hills. Steven lives in an area that has a bunch of hiking tracks and camping trails and he’s never gone on them, he was too comfortable in his own world.
Bob says he knows it’s very muddy, but he’s always about being able to just get out into the great outdoors. And he says to look at where they are. You don’t have to be a hamster on a treadmill, you can enjoy life.
Carrianne says that Bob has ways of making the workouts fun. During the hike he tells them all to stick twigs in their hair. “We’re taking a little bit of the mountain and putting it on us.”
“Are we at one with the Earth, Bob?” “We’re at one with the Earth, that’s right Steven.”
Then they start grooving to the Love Boat song? Um.
Steven says it was great because they were all laughing and joking.
Bob says it’s beautiful. Look how far they’ve come. Look how far they’ve come in just a couple of weeks.
To be honest, the view’s not that great. The landscape there is very brown.
Carrianne says it’s symbolic, because life’s a big mountain and you climb it every day. This is one big step that they’re all trying to accomplish.
Bob asks her if she thought she’d be spending her birthday in the mountains of California? She says no, no way!
Carrianne says in a side bit that she needs to learn that she can do things without Nicole, they’ve always done things together. To do the whole journey by herself will hopefully make her a stronger person.
Bob says the Black Team has nothing to worry about. If they do everything that they say, the Biggest Loser Australia will be a Black Team member, no doubt.
Michelle wanders in to the White House to chat to her Red Team. They all seem very happy, so she was thinking maybe there was good news?
They tell her they had a Temptation and explain what the challenge was.
They tell her that Nicole had 75 calories from an oyster, then Nicola took a salad.
And then what happened?
Oh, right, Sheridan made a pig of herself.
Michelle kind of chortles at the litany of people she beat. And then asks how many calories she ate. 1700. And Michelle’s jaw just drops.
Michelle is shellshocked after the ad break. Nicole says Michelle was speechless.
Michelle asks her to have a guess how many hours she’s going to be working to burn off those calories.
Michelle says in a side bit that it would be 6-8 hours, depending on the intensity level. And that’s what she’ll be doing, whether she likes it or not!
Sheridan says she knows. Michelle then agrees with what I was just thinking – I don’t think Sheridan has any idea how hard 6-8 hours physical exercise really is!
Once they hit the gym, the gloves are off! “It’s time to feel the wrath of a poor, poor decision!”
Sheridan is a little surprised at how peeved Michelle is. She thinks Michelle has a point to prove.
All through the workout Michelle keeps reminding Sheridan of the 1780 calories.
Nicole says Michelle was in a foul mood by that point!
“It was tough, it was get your head down and butt up and do not even question what I’ve asked you to do!” – Sheridan
Cosi is laughing in a side bit, saying that Michelle set the session up to destroy Sheridan and he had box seats!
Sheridan’s in a tug of war with Cosi at one point, dragging him along the floor.
“Show me how much you want to take it for the team now!”
“Cosi, make her work! I don’t even care if you make her cry, it doesn’t matter!”
Cosi has trouble looking her in the eye, because he was feeling like he was to blame for the pain, but he had no choice in it!
After the tug of war, Michelle immediately has them down to do pushups. Michelle asks her to count them out, but Sheridan “actually couldn’t breathe.”
She’s getting pissed off at Michelle, wanted to tell her to get out of her face!
Next Michelle has her holding a huge heavy medicine ball above her head on the treadmill. “Seven hours to go!”
Rachel says the team was in shock, they didn’t think Sheridan deserved this much punishment. Apparently the Red Team thinks it’s okay to gorge themselves with a day and a half’s worth of food in one sitting. You’d never know it to look at them!
Michelle says there were moments during the training session where Sheridan almost gave up, she fell over, burst into tears, went through the whole emotional spectrum.
“So what happened to her in the gym today is exactly what needed to happen to harden her up a little bit. That’s what’s going to get her through this competition.”
Sheridan says her calves were cramping up, she was tired and sore, but determined and pissed off. “Michelle can think that she’s broken me, but she hasn’t.”
Shannan says it’s time for them to amp up the training with a hardcore spin session.
Shannan tells them to get their head in the right place, because it’s not going to last forever. Once they get into the intense zone, they’ve got to really crack it out.
Sean wants a quick word beforehand, though. He’s very apologetic about it.
Shannan wasn’t sure what was up with Sean. Sean tells him he had a hypoglycaemic attack today, the first one he’s had.
Shannan asks him what happened. “Well I heard this sort of screaming in my ears and the lights went out.” Damn, poor bastard.
In an aside Sean says he’s still learning about what happens.
Then we get some footage of what happened. Sean’s lying on a path with the medics around him. He’s a little incoherent, wants to go sit down for a minute. Even though he’s lying down. The medics tell him to just lie there for a minute.
Sean didn’t know what had happened. His hands were shaking and he was short of breath and had no idea why he was on the ground.
Shannan says that his blood sugar had gone so low that he just passed out.
For people who suffer from diabetes, they need to recognise the warning symptoms: screaming in the ears, blurred vision, feeling tired. You need to monitor your blood sugar and listen to your body.
“You’ll be okay in a sec mate.” – Medic, just before giving him a jab of glucazon?
Sean says prior to collapsing he’d done his glucose levels and it’d shown them as being really, really low. But he figured that it must have been wrong because he didn’t feel any symptoms of his sugar levels being that low.
So he thought that maybe the strips are faulty or something like that.
Shannan says that Sean has to take responsibility for monitoring his blood sugar to make sure it doesn’t impact on his health anymore.
Sean says that there’s a lot of diagnosed and undiagnosed diabetics out there and people need to know that they can get up and do something about it and he has an opportunity to raise people’s awareness and inspire them to do something about it.
Back outside the spin cycle room, Shannan asks Sean how he feels now. Shannan asks weak, tired, shaky? Sean says, “Yeah. All of the above!” And they have a laugh.
Sean says he’ll be okay to train though. The medics have okayed him to train. The medic will be close by throughout the workout.
Shannan says that Sean’s attitude was, please don’t make him sit out. He wants to train.
“You’re the man that you promised me you’d be, buddy. Nothing but pride and increased respect for you every day you’re in here.”
Sean says there’s a thing that Shannan does where he looks in your eyes and shows his sincerity and that kind of calms you down. Gives you something to believe in.
“It’s that type of determination and guts that’s going to get the Blue Team across the line every time.”
“Okay, this is what’s going to be going on for the next six hours.” – Michelle, gesturing to Sheridan still on her treadmill.
Cosi says that it’s like Michelle has a prisoner!
Michelle says that since Sheridan has taken a hit for the team, the team needs to make sure that she stays there. Michelle doesn’t care if she’s still there at midnight! She recommends that a teammate stays with her.
Cosi says that that wasn’t in the brochure!
When Michelle comes back tomorrow, it’ll be a clean slate.
And now it’s time for… The Walk!
And guess what, everyone’s nervous again. The person who holds immunity is anxious. They hold power in the game. They hope it’s not something horrible. Everyone else is imagining what could be on the stones. Maybe it will be bad for one of the teams, but they hope it won’t be bad for their own team.
While Sheridan is off Walking, Michelle comes to the House to find out if Sheridan kept up to her end of the bargain.
The team is very excited to tell her that Sheridan stayed there right till the bitter end. Sheridan didn’t get to bed till 12.40am. Ouch.
Michelle is very impressed.
Michelle reminds them that she’d made the suggestion to go in and train with them. Nicola said she chucked her guts up right after training due to a really bad headache.
Rachel says she went and did some weights and other training and had a chat with her. For about twenty minutes, half an hour.
Michelle asks if that was it, in the whole marathon that Sheridan did.
Rachel says they went to bed about 10.30pm, they were up in the morning at the crack of dawn.
Garry had a chat and did 45 minutes on the cross trainer.
Cosi says the treadmills were full when he went back so he did weights for about 50 minutes.
And then Alison was there with her until about 12.30.
“Alison… from the Blue Team?”
Michelle is pretty damn pissed that the last 3 hours of Sheridan’s “treadmill experience” wasn’t with any of the Red Team. She’s shocked.
During the ticking off Nicole gets up and walks off looking pretty crook. She says she’d woken up feeling pretty crap, felt like she had a hangover or got hit by a truck.
Apparently she suffers from migraines and she’s got a doozy today, but there’s also a lot of stress there. She really wants to try and she really gets in there and does it but she looks around at the rest of the team, and they’re not really putting in the hard work. And that’s stressing her out.
Michelle says it’s disappointing as a trainer that the Red Team still hasn’t got it together. It’s going to be a hard road ahead if they can’t pull themselves together.
And we’ve gone bush with Sheridan. She doesn’t seem any the worse for wear for her marathon last night! Hmmm.
She says that it might be thought that it was silly of her to take the Temptation as far as she did but she thought it was the best thing for her team at the time. She’ll do it again next week if she has to.
MUDCRAB!
She’s hoping to either get to pinch a Blue boy for the Red Team, or be able to send a Blue boy home. She hopes it’s not one that sends her home immediately.
She gets to the platform at last where there’s only 3 urns this week.
Blah blah blah, affect everyone in the house, blah everyone is crucial.
But could you cope without your trainers?
Today either the Red Team, the Blue Team or BOTH will lose their trainers until after the next elimination.
Lame. They’re there to train, let them.
The stones read:
The X team loses its trainer: choose a replacement.
Both teams lose their trainer: choose replacements for both.
Not only does Sheridan get to pick which side loses its trainer, she must also pick who on that team will be the trainer for the rest of the week.
It’s lame. But at least it doesn’t completely ruin “TEH GAME” I suppose.
Sheridan umms and ahhs. The middle urn has the prettiest flowers apparently. So she stays away from that one because the pretty shiny berries are always the most poisonous, apparently.
She eventually goes for the one on the right.
And the editors have learnt this week – no reading of the stone before the ad, it’s a blurrystone!
While the Blue Team was waiting for Sheridan to return, Shannan came in to check on how they were going with the cabbage from the Warehouse. He says it’d be boring, but good for their weight loss.
“How’s the Cabbage Kids going?”
John’s playing the role of head chef. He’s cooking up some lean chicken breast, cabbage, onion, tomato, garlic and some fresh chopped herbs.
Shannan says it smelt a treat!
He says that this takes the place of things like potato or stir fried stuff. Cabbage is incredibly low in calories, about 15-20 per 100 grams. 150 gram piece of chicken is about 150 calories.
Shannan is stoked with Blue.
Shannan says to John that you could have 300 grams of the cabbage/tomato/onion mixture is only about 45-50 calories. And John says exactly, and you feel full and satisfied!
Shannan says that having the cabbage and smart choices to go with the cabbage has put Blue at an advantage. Red’s canned food is going to hurt them on the scales.
Cosi says they’re trying to cook omelette with stuff out of the cans. He gives Michelle a rundown of his “Omelette a la Cos”.
Egg white omelettes, full of protein!
Michelle is pleased with what her team is doing, they’re being as careful as they can.
They have a strainer full of the most vile spinach. I can’t believe they’re really going to eat it.
Michelle says green veggies are full of antioxidants and are really good for your bodies.
Michelle is “super impressed” with what they decided to make. A meal that’s high in protein, good carbs and quite tasty!
Sheridan returns and since Shannan and Michelle were there still, they’re in the lounge to see what’s what as well.
“I knew that whatever power Sheridan got was going to change the face of the game.” – Shannan. It’s worth quoting because he’s not a contestant!
Alison says Sheridan looked really tired when she came into the room. But she had a smile on her face, so Alison figures it’s going to be bad for the Blues.
Sheridan explains the stones.
Michelle is blown away by the fact that someone was going to lose their trainer because nobody trains as hard as they can without their trainer.
And the result? The Blue Team will be losing Shannan for the week.
Shannan is shattered. Alison’s a little bit angry because she really, really wanted them to win.
Michael says it’s a major set back. The trainers are their as guides, to make sure they do reach their goals.
Sheridan says that she has to confer with Red and pick a trainer for Blue.
In the interview room Sheridan says that she doesn’t want things to go terribly for Blue because they’re her friends… but she also wants to pick the one that’ll offer the best advantage for Red.
Shannan has a quick chat with Blue. Shannan sets out some training tips for them. Most important training session of the week? Last Chance Training. What do you do there? Exhaust every single part of your body.
Shannan says if one of his team goes home it could literally cost them their life. It’s good nutrition and healthy eating (?) that’s going to allow them to win the next weigh in.
“Who cares who the Red Team chooses as our trainer? Because we’re tight and we’re a team and you’re going to look after each other.”
“This was going to make them the underdog, this is their moment to shine, this is the Blue Team’s time to be heroes.”
Sheridan has until sundown to decide who would be Blue’s trainer.
Sheridan was petrified that Michelle was going to be even more pissed with her!
She initially went to people who she wouldn’t want to pick, like John and “KB”, Kirsten. Because they’re strong and motivational.
Rachel says Blue is so cheery and they really want to create a crack in the team.
Garry says to the others that there’s two people on the Blue team that some of them are finding quite irritating.
Sean’s name gets thrown out by Cosi as being funny. Rachel thinks it would piss the whole team off.
Rachel says the crack in the team with Sean is pretty massive. Apparently nobody likes to be around him.
Sheridan says that it would be the funniest choice, but he could still be motivational, he could still get people to move. She thinks it needs to be someone who isn’t terribly motivated in regards to training, and that’s Debbie.
Rachel thinks that would be a good option because Debbie loses motivation very easily, she doesn’t like doing as much.
And I guess it takes a lazy git to know a lazy git, huh Rachel?
Garry thinks it’ll be a good choice, because she’ll be bragging about it and saying she’s the leader. Cosi says they know what she’s like around the house. Rachel says Debbie will be bossy about it until she actually goes to do it, and then she’ll be like, “Mehhhhhh.”
Sheridan says she knows Debbie has had run ins with Shannan before and she’s told Sheridan before that she thinks they’re working too hard and will get injuries.
Nicola says she’s going to have to go for Sean, just because it’d be funny.
Sheridan says Debbie.
Rachel cracks up and say Sean.
Garry goes with Debbie.
Cosi also goes with Sean. Because it would drive him loopy if Sean had to be Cosi’s trainer.
Sheridan tip toes upstairs to quietly ask Nicole about it, as she’s still feeling very under the weather.
Nicole says they’d want the least motivated person, which would be Debbie.
So Sheridan tip toes back out to leave Nicole in peace while they resolve the draw.
Garry says there’s some uneasy feelings with Debbie but not as much as Sean. So if they pick Debbie then it might be two cracks instead of one.
Garry is hoping that this will be one of the downfalls Blue will experience in the game.
In the end they decide that they’d really be happy with either one so they’re happy to leave it in Sheridan’s hands.
Sheridan says they’re going to have to start playing smart, rather than hard. It sounds really evil and rotten but that’s what it’s going to take to stay here.
Blue Team farewells Shannan. Shannan says all of Blue is determined to do it for him.
Shannan says it doesn’t really matter who Red picks because they’re all determined to do it for him.
Shannan goes around the group hugging and dispensing words of wisdom.
Debbie says he believes in her much more than she believes in herself.
“You are my enforcer.” – To Kirsten
“You are my secret weapon.” – To Alison
And finally it’s time to find out the result.
Sheridan’s trying not to look at anyone in particular as she walks out so as not to give it away too soon.
They had a vote but ultimately the decision came down to her.
Debbie knows it would come down to herself or Sean.
Sheridan says they were kind of thinking Sean. Sean thinks it’s because of his injuries, or Debbie’s blowup with Shannan.
And then Sheridan reveals she’d chosen Debbie.
“Sheridan’s decision was me. And I tell you what, I’m up for that job!”
John says he knows that Debbie was chosen because she’s a weak link. And not all of Blue have respect for Debbie. John doesn’t think she’s going to handle it, she’s going to rub people the wrong way. It’s going to go to her head.
“I know a lot of people think I’m the crier here, which I know I am. But the people have no idea how strong I am. I have a hundred and sixty staff that I look after every single day. I have over seven hundred clients I look after every single day. I run an office! They’ve got no idea what they’re in for.”
Um, yeah, I used to run an office too. I had minions and everything!
I’d still be a little concerned about having 6 other people’s lives in my untrained hands!
John says it’s not relevant. It’s respect that’s relevant. And what the team has seen is someone sooking over the smallest things. Now she wants to run a team? That doesn’t wash with him.
Debbie says the bitches don’t know the bitch she can be. So y’all better step off or you gunna get broke! Or something like that.
Tomorrow, things heat up in the Blue gym. Sam says Sean’s an attention seeker. Michael says the Blues think Sean’s annoying!
And the challenge tomorrow night involves surf boats! Looks like they’ll have to shift them up and down the beach, as well as row them out into the surf. And yes, there’s a lot of screaming at people and tempers will undoubtedly flare.
Should be fun!
