Season 3, Episode 4: The First Temptation of The New Fatties

Previously, on The Biggest Loser… pigs in mud!
No, wait. They’ve done away with that footage at last. This time it’s a replay of JJ being a horrible troll to the ladies and a replay of the awesome Black Team things.

Tonight the Black Team faces their first weigh in and the Whites face their first Temptation.
And one of them will walk away with immunity!

Would you like to know more?

Cool guitar riff opens the new footage tonight.
Michelle (the fat one) looks very happy while she’s telling us it’s time for weigh in. Steven’s never seen a scale that enormous!

Bob’s sporting a full on beard these days. Think he looked better a bit scruffy!
Bob welcomes them to America and tells them to remember why they’re here, what they need to do to get this number lower.
Jillian says that this will be the hardest, most painful thing physically and emotionally that they will ever go through.

Michelle gets to be weighed in first. She’s very nervous but she’s there to change her life!
Michelle’s Starting Weight: 120.7kg

“I don’t want to be this size and this weight.”
She says she’s doing it for her grandparents… who passed away not long ago. Bob says she has a beautiful essence about her and the weight needs to get off her so she can start her life.

Bryce is next. He says it’s a pretty cruel shock to the system
Bryce’s Starting Weight: 139.2kg

“It hit me like a punch in the face.” He’s 24 at that weight. Bob is pretty amazed. Bryce says it’s disgusting. Jillian says that that kind of self loathing is what gets you to 139 kilos so stop it right now, she doesn’t want to hear it ever again.

Steven takes his big head of hair up there next. Oh I’m so happy he’s with Jillian!
Steven’s Starting Weight: 166.6kg

Satan! He feels like crawling up into a little ball. Aisha-Jade is his daughter’s name. Good god. She’s 2 years old. He doesn’t want her to have to go through being obese.
Apparently he broke up with his partner at the beginning of the year (2007).
“She’s my world.”

Carrianne is last, of course. “Let’s see what you brought from Australia.” – Bob
Carrianne doesn’t usually like scales, especially one so big and so public.

Carrianne’s Starting Weight: 111kg

She says it made her feel horrible inside. Bob asks her about her twin sister and where she is. Carrianne says she’s off in the White House. Bob asks if she’s ever spent this much time apart from her sister and she says no. Bob says in an aside that Carrianne seems like a tough nut but once he mentioned her twin, she dissolved into tears.

Bob then repeats the line about kicking ass and taking names. “I actually feel sorry for Shannan and Michelle right now!” Oh it’s on, baby!

Shannan takes some of the boys and some of the girls off for some boxing training.
Shannan asks them all how they’re going and Nicola says she feels like shit! Monica says they were all feeling like that.
Shannan’s response in an aside? “I realised I’ve got a team of little sooky-lala’s there with me.” Legend!
Monica burst into tears pretty much right away after Shannan says the mood is terrible. Apparently she has a sore foot. Even while just standing around, it’s hurting. She has tendonitis in her foot she says. But Shannan points out she can either go sit down and maybe lose the weigh in or go and train with what they’ve got. “This show will spit you out quicker than you can know.”

After the ads they start boxing training at last. “The harder you go, the harder you punch, the higher your heart rate, the higher the heart rate the more fat you burn!”
John’s getting all excited watching the boxing training… But he can’t take part because of his heart thing so he heads off for his walk. Shannan comes out to see him with a phone and says he has to take this important call.
Shannan says he probably thought it would be a phone call to say he’d have to leave the show altogether.

But no, it’s his daughter! She had the baby! Raise your hand if you’re surprised!
Mother and baby are healthy and doing well.
John says the baby won’t remember that he wasn’t there for four months. But he’ll certainly see him when he’s sixteen years old.
Shannan congratulates him and John runs into the gym to tell everyone he’s a grandad and everyone is really happy for him, lots of hugs. John says they’re great people.

Sam thinks there’s an elimination today but instead there’s a bunch of food. Temptation time!
Sheridan says as they came in they saw a bunch of food which she says they probably shouldn’t even be looking at!
John spies some pizza, his favourite food. Sam thinks it looks pretty good too!

“All that food there is a memory from home. Muffins, chocolate biscuits, party pies, pavlovas. You could see a part of your life in every single plate.” – Debbie

Ajay reminds them all that this is a game and they could be here one day and gone the next. And soon, one will be gone forever!
The winner of today’s Temptation will win immunity!
Cue montage of various Fatties saying they want immunity. Duh!

This immunity is known as “The Last Plate Standing”. And the combined calorie value of all the food items? Five thousand calories! Sounds like a light snack to me!

Fifteen plates. Very tasty treats. They start at tiny chocolate treats and go all the way up to a plate full of hot chips and a big beef burger. Garry says he could smell the burger from a mile away and it was getting to him!
If you decide to try it you eat whatever is on the next plate in line, put that plate in one pile and then stand on the winner’s block.
At the end of the time limit whoever is standing on the winner’s block gets immunity!

Sheridan’s very tempted by the sweet things, they made her eyes light up!
John’s very tempted by the hamburger. It has some bacon hanging out and it smells nice and fresh.
Monica says the smartie could get her over the line and she could be there for the next week and then continue on all the way.
Sam’s trying to psych everyone out, saying the smartie looks pretty good. Someone tells him to have it then but he declines. He had a big breakfast, he says. I’m sure he actually meant an adequately sized, calorie controlled breakfast. Right, Sam?
He tries to step off to see if anyone would have a go at beating him.

Garry then makes his statement that anyone who has a go, he’ll vote them off. Neat trick, since they’d have immunity.
Michael’s not real impressed, saying that taking away people’s choice is what people fight wars over. In an aside, not directly to him though.

And just on a side note here – John does seem to be in line to take part in the Temptation. Which is interesting.

Ajay then tells them that at the end of the 45 minutes someone will walk away with immunity, though she doesn’t elaborate on the selection process.
Michael has finally realised that someone could win by just eating a single smartie, but Sheridan then tells him that next week they’ll all remember it and vote him out for being weak as piss! Sheridan’s hanging on to Michael’s, Sam’s and Garry’s shirts so they can’t go grab the smartie.
3 minutes to go and still nobody has caved in. Very surprising. I think the peer pressure is the main reason, they probably should have let them go in seperately or something…

2 minutes after the ad break!
Ajay taunts them with the importance of immunity again. Sam says it was very tempting, 5 calories and he’s definitely there another week.
20 seconds. JJ suggests a countdown of the last 10 seconds and they do, and they all get through!

Everyone is very proud of themselves.
Annnnd now Ajay says they should be rewarded, with immunity. When they entered the room they each selected a disc to stand on and underneath one of them is an immunity card! Sneaky bastards!
Nothing under John’s disc. John isn’t too concerned though.
JJ has nothing under his. Debbie didn’t want it to be him and Sam says all the girls will be voting for him.
Nothing under Garry’s disc either. Nor Sam’s. Nor Sheridan. No joy for Sean either. JJ is disappointed he didn’t get it.
No luck for Michael, either, nor Nicole. Nicola is flat out of luck. Debbie missed out. Cosi… doesn’t have it either! Four chicks left.
Rachel flips her disc and there’s nothing there either. Monica wishes Kirsten luck. Michael thinks Kirsten would be seen as a threat because of how hard she works… And sure enough, Kirsten has immunity!

Victory comes with great responsibility. As the winner of immunity, you must take The Walk.
Ajay tells her what The Walk entails, that she has the power to change the game forever. And then in an aside Kirsten tells us she.. has the power to change the game.

Tomorrow night on The Biggest Loser, Black Team gets their first caning. “The game is on!”
Lots of shouting from Bob and Jillian!

And back in the White House, JJ and Michelle come to blows, seemingly over training? He starts stepping into her during some boxing mitt-work, actually clipping her at least once. She gives him his marching orders at some point.
And on The Walk they’re teasing that someone will be sent home as a result of whichever stone is chosen. Poor Kirsten, she might have to choose who goes home.
So I guess it’s byebye JJ!
