Recap #67 – Sunday 22nd April – Special Recap of the Recap of the Season So Far Episode!

Previously, on The Biggest Loser, Munnalita got kicked in the rump. Hurrah!

Ajay welcomes us to the show from the driveway of the White House. Tonight… is going to be a cheesy clip show, it seems. Is this really going to be worth recapping? We’ll see…

Marty says walking up the drive on the first day he felt nervous and surprised, he thought it was surreal that he was one of the chosen ones. Gerard says his first impression of Marty was that he looked like a fantastic, fun character. Jules loved him for his funniness and how uplifting he seemed. Marty says he was always the happy jovial one, but he was using that to hide the sad Marty.
He says he was embarassed during the first weigh-in.

Michelle says for the first training session Jillian and her decided to take the two alpha males and break them. Michelle’s wearing a very girly purple top tonight!
Replay of Marty crying like a baby after his first training session with Michelle.
Michelle says the challenges in the game can mean the difference between winning and losing a weigh-in. The one she remembers the most was the rowing challenge, very early on, where Marty had just done a pretty serious injury to his knee. Shannan says that Mel, his opponent, had a background in competitive rowing, so everyone thought she’d be just impossible to beat. Damien says Marty had no rowing style at all but he wasn’t prepared to give in.
Shannan says it was one of the most outstanding mental performances he saw in the house.

Ahhh, the first betrayal of Marty. The first time he was eliminated. Then he got a phone call from the producers inviting him back to the game when Jules had to leave due to medical issues. And then a few weeks after that he put weight back on at one of the weigh-ins. And got eliminated again!
And then they all came back and Marty got yet another shot. He says going into the Super Challenge he was very focused and driven. Chris says the other guys didn’t stand a chance and he thinks they all knew it.
Shannan says he wasn’t in a lucky dip, he earnt his way back into the house twice.
Marty says, “My belief in life is give it everything you’ve got, hold your head up high knowing that you did the best you could do.”

Ajay says that some say it’s almost impossible for a woman to win The Biggest Loser, but Pati is out to prove them wrong!
Michelle says training is the main thing when it comes to winning on the scales. Pati says she thought she was really strong when she first came into the house. She knows now that she wasn’t! As she got further into the training she realised there was more and more things she could do.
Damien says that Pati’s power is what he most admired about her. Michelle says that Pati can hold her own with the big boys.
Pati says that her friendship with Munnalita and Courtney is what got her through a lot of the time. Munnalita says that it was strange because they’re all very different people with very different personalities. Courtney says they banded together because they thought they needed to, but the alliance turned into a friendship.
Pati says there were points throughout the experience that were important to her. One of them was the Super Challenge in New Zealand. By the time she got to the canoe stage, Chris and Courtney were out of sight. It took her a while to see the boys ahead of her, but she wasn’t going to give up!
Shannan asks who’s going to win? Why not Pati? Jules says she’d like to see Pati win because she survived the entire journey.
Chris remembers when he pulled in to the shore during the Super Challenge and heard another boat pull in behind him and assumed it was Courtney… Until he looked around later and realised it was Pati!
Damien says that if any woman ever has a chance at taking The Biggest Loser title, it’s Pati. Michelle says Marty and Chris have their work cut out for them!

Once an Outsider, always an Outsider, Ajay says that’s what Chris’ experience has been in the house. But he’s managed to stay above the yellow line week after week and has thus earned his place in the final three.
Chris remembers when he started and how massively overweight he was. He wants to lose the weight so he could live his life as a normal 23 year old.
Shannan says Chris is one of the toughest contestants to step up onto the scales. He’s stubborn, he’s driven, he’s determined and he’s a weightloss machine.
Commando Steve says his first impression of Chris was that he’s young, cocky and that Steve was going to have some work to do. Steve says they had to travel to training by themselves, shop for themselves and keep themselves motivated while they weren’t with him.
Kimberlie says it was obvious right from the start that Chris was determined to win. Steve could see that Chris was tough and competitive right from the start, so if he set his mind to it he’d be “bloody unstoppable”!
The day Chris and Kim walked into the White House, Chris was scared, nervous and excited. Keen to see the competition and what he’d be up against, but mostly just wanted to get the party started.
Shannan says when Chris entered the House that put the fear of God into the existing contestants, it changed everything for the contestants who’d become a bit too comfortable and set in their ways.
Damien says Chris came in and put in the hard work and worked diligently. Michael says he raises the bar each session. Shannan says Chris was a giant killer, because he trained the hardest and the longest.
Chris’ biggest issue was self control. In New Zealand he had to get to the bottom of it all. Shannan says that when Chris spoke up and asked to be let down from the jet plane thing, that was his big breakthrough. Chris the boy began his new journey to become Chris the man.
Kim remembers that Chris would have been out of the game as quick as someone could call him a taxi if he’d ever fallen below the yellow line. Pati says it was because he was such an obvious and huge threat.
Gerard says that had Chris played the game from the start in the house, he wouldn’t’ve made it past Week 3. Kelly says he does deserve to be there because he did do the hard yards on the outside.
Damien says that he thinks Chris is the favourite to become The Biggest Loser. Commando Steve says he better damn well do it!

Michelle says it’s going to be a close thing between Chris, Marty and Pati and it’s going to be one hell of a show!

Ajay says the show is about changing lives forever and in doing so, inspiring others. Shannan and Michelle wanted to recognise one extraordinary contestant with their Trainer’s Choice Award.
Shannan says for the first time the shoe is on the other foot and they get to surprise someone! Michelle and Shannan got to choose one person who they think has handled themselves exquisitely throughout the show.
Michelle says she’s known Shannan for a number of years and she’s never seen him so nervous.
They rock up to the front door of the winner’s house and knock… And the door opens to reveal Jules! Jules wins!
Jules had no idea anyone was going to arrive. Shannan says the way she’s handled herself since he met her has been amazing and she’s touched his soul.
We get a replay of some of the earlier bits, where Jules tells Shannan about her life, with her husband dying and her son being diagnosed with leukemia and Down’s Syndrome and she was pregnant when her hubby died and on and on. Then a replay of when she had to leave the show due to her heart issues.
Shannan said she left the show with her head held high and a determination to continue losing weight on the outside, which she’s done. He says she’s had so many kicks, more than anyone he knows, but today her luck was going to change for the better!
So without any further delay, they take her and her kids and Mum out onto the driveway to reveal Jules’ surprise.
Shannan leads her out with her eyes covered and says that when he takes his hand away everything she sees will belong to her. And she’ll have earnt every bit of it and they’re so proud of her.
And her surprise is… A brand new car! A $34,000 Suzuki Grand Vitara, no less.
Jules is really touched that she’s been recognised as an inspiration, she’s blown away that people see her like that.
“I don’t think I could drive it!” – Jules
