Recap #66 – Friday 20th April – The Final Elimination Ever!
Mmmmmmmmmm, chicken kickers.
Sorry, what was I saying? Oh, right, elimination night! Ding dong one of the witches is dead, which old witch? Find out which!
Chris said his choice was ridiculously hard because it’s like splitting hairs, they’re both ridiculously motivated. He says he’s been sharing a room with them both for a while and he considers them both to be friends now. In the end he had to decide based on who was a bigger threat to him personally. No personal reasons behind it or anything like that.
Munnalita: 1 (Chris)
Which makes Marty’s vote the decider, as expected. If he votes for Munnalita, that’s 2 and she goes. If he votes for Pati, it’ll be a tie and Pati will lose via having the least weight lost!
Marty says it was a hard choice, they’re both fierce competitors, they both have the ability to win the game, he’s not afraid of competition, it would be an honour to compete with either of them, he’ll still have to compete with Chris anyway. He looked at whether someone is a bigger risk to him, and he thought not really. It came down to why they’re in the house, and the reasons for both are good ones. If he can’t win the game fairly and truly, he’d be happy to give the money to someone he feels deserves it equally.
So therefore he’s voted… for white fuzzy person yet again!
Oh well, at least it’s the last time it can happen… unless they fill the next bit in between with replayed footage and extra bits before the reveal? Wouldn’t put it past them, they need to fill the hour somehow!
Annnnnnnd we’re back from the break.
He’s voted for… MUNNALITA! Ding dong the chocolate coated witch is gone! Ha-haaaaaaaaaaaa!
Ajay asks her how it feels to be tripped up right at the end. Munnalita says she feels like she’s been conned by Chris, he got a fair bit of information out of her. She asked him if he was in it to win it for himself, in which case she thinks it’s fair enough, do what he wants. Or was he thinking he can’t win and he wanted one of the girls to win, the one with the best chance. And he’d said he wanted to put someone in who could beat Marty, which she says was a complete lie. Chris immediately says it wasn’t a lie and Munnalita interrupts and says it was, otherwise she wouldn’t be saying this to him right now.
Because, you know, there’s no way Pati could ever possibly beat Marty, huh Munnalita? Real nice. You do realise she’s sitting right next to you?
Ajay asks her how it feels and she says she’s disappointed, but happy that Pati did make it through. She says to be so close to it and have it taken away was hard, but it happened to others before her so it was sort of fair in the end. Especially since your bloody fingerprints are all over most of the knives in the backs of the other contestants, hmm?
Ajay asks if Munnalita thinks she could have won it and Munnalita says she thinks she would have gone very close, if not won it. She’s very determined and would have pushed herself all the way. We’ll see at the finale, won’t we… I mean, there’s still $50,000 up for grabs, isn’t there?
She’s asked who she thinks will win overall and she thinks it won’t be Chris, it’ll be a tossup between Marty and Pati.
Pati says Munnalita is a strong woman, don’t let anyone tell her otherwise, and Pati’s proud of her!
Munnalita says it’s hard to feel good about yourself when you’re overweight. She was sort of lost there for a while, but she feels a lot stronger now. She feels like she can do anything now. Ajay asks her if she thinks her husband will notice the difference now and she says that he’ll see she’s a lot happier now, she used to blow up in every bad situation and it’d get worse and worse. And she has a new goal now on the outside, she’s going to try and match whoever ends up winning, just to see if she could have done it.
She congratulates everyone for losing a bunch of weight, they’ve worked very hard. But she’s sure she’s going to win the title off them.
Ajay says everyone has enjoyed watching her journey… Stop feeding her lying lines, Mr Writer Man!
Chris apologises as he says goodbye and Munnalita says it’s okay and good luck. Munnalita asks how many times she’s hugged him goodbye, but now she’s on the other side. Marty says he wishes the three of them had been the ones to go through.
Pati and Munnalita gibber at each other a bunch. Munnalita tells her to train hard and Pati says she sounds like Michelle. When Pati finds it hard or difficult, Munnalita wants her to remember Munnalita’s doing the same thing on the outside.
“It’s not going to slow me down, it’s fired me up!” – Munnalita
The next time the final three will see her, will be at the finale, where one person will walk away with a bunch of extra weight in the form of $200,000 cash!
Now they have to head back to the real world and deal with all the distractions and temptations out there. Ajay says that Chris has been there before, he knows how hard it is. Marty’s been outside and knows how hard it is as well. Pati’s now the only one who has never been home since beginning. As the only woman left, her road is also likely to be the toughest.
10,000 people applied, only one can win, so do the best you can. “May the Biggest Loser win!” – Ajay
And then Munnalita’s light blinks out to even more cheers!
Munnalita arrives back home after being eliminated to a surprise party. Everyone sets off poppers and she does a twirl for them in her red dress.
6 weeks on, she’s much skinnier. Particularly around the face and arms. Still has a huge arse and thighs, though. Her and her husband do their shopping together now and look at all the fruit and vegetables and pick out what to have for dinner. When she hits the chocolate aisle now, she finds that she has a lot more willpower now, she doesn’t need to go there anymore.
Size 26 before the show, she’s down to a 12 now!
Sitting down in front of her audition tape now, the difference is astonishing. For one thing, her makeup doesn’t look ridiculous! She’s actually looking a bit like Michelle, now, if Michelle chubbed out a bunch.
Munnalita says she’ll never go back to how she was before, she’ll never ever ever go back there again. She knows the weightloss will help her with the IVF stuff and she feels much more like a normal, happy, person.
She’s lost 50kg since starting at the house, which is a fairly significant amount of weight for a female!
Have a sneaking suspicion she might be pregnant come finale night, assuming it was only her weight holding her back.
Back at the house, Chris is telling the video diary that he’s happy to be leaving the house now the way he wanted to leave – with his head held high having not been eliminated, even though everyone was trying to get him out from Day One.
Marty can hardly believe he’s in the final three. He’s not worried about whether he’ll win or lose, it doesn’t matter, his journey has been amazing.
Pati wants to go home and tell her family that she’s in the final three, she wants to tell her friends that she made it. She knows they’re proud of her already but this is going to amaze them.
Chris came in expecting to be eliminated the first week.
Marty says it was strange to be packing away the memories of home. He’d put up some of the new photos he’d got in his treasure chest. He put up a photo of Old-Marty just to show him how far he’s come.
Chris comes in and asks Pati how bizarre it is to be packing again. Pati says it’s really weird, then has an aside saying that she’s the only person who’s spent every night in the same bed ever since arriving on the first day.
She says it’s weird looking through all the cards she got for encouragement before heading off.
Marty gets out his clothes he’d brought along hoping to one day fit into them, and his fit quite well! He came in wearing pants with a 46-48 inch waist and he’s now down to a 36 inch waist. He came in with a 6 or 7 XL shirt, he’s now down to an XL shirt. He says it was awesome to get into some nice clothes that actually fit him. He wonders if it’s a dream, looking at the handsome man in the mirror.
Pati’s gotten dolled up in a size 14 dress, when she’d come in in a size 24 or so dress.
Chris is stoked, he’s down to a regular size L, but he can fit into a Medium top if he wants. He says Pati’s dress is nice, she’s looking spectacular.
Pati says she’s going to need to take it up a notch on the outside.
Marty says he’s looking forward to it, he’s ready.
Shannan and Michelle arrive, Shannan’s excited to find out who the final three are, but also sad because he won’t see them again, won’t be spending every day with them. For the next 6 weeks they won’t be with them every single day.
Chris says it’s hard to reveal the results to the trainers each time, but this time isn’t so bad.
Michelle says she felt bad when Munnalita wasn’t in the final three. She felt like she could have gone all the way. Shannan says she’s tried really hard, had highs and lows, and more than anyone had faced her demons. So he was disappointed as well.
They go through the numbers for the trainers. They were both really impressed with Marty’s number and his having been the biggest loser. Shannan says that Marty’s played the game as a gentleman all the way. His tenacity has been outstanding and being one of the final three was indicative of how he’s played.
Shannan and Michelle aren’t as stoked by Pati’s number, but Michelle says that so long as it’s a less, she should be happy! Michelle says the change in Pati has been mostly in her self belief, she’s much more confident now, compared to how she used to be never seen, never heard.
Shannan tells Chris again that he’s a weight loss machine. Shannan says in his aside that his goal with Chris has always been to change his being and his persona. He’s now more open to the world, he knows that to get anywhere in life you’ve got to treat people with dignity and have self respect. Being tough isn’t about running around telling everyone how good you are – being tough is running flat out for the last 5 minutes of a 30 minute run. Chris does that now, he’s learnt a lot.
Michelle is kind of crushed to hear Munnalita’s number. She says Munnalita has come so far and learnt so much about herself and she now has a massive future to look forward to.
Michelle says there the final three are at last. Finally! And they’re going home as hotties!
Shannan asks if they’d reached their goals yet. Marty says he’s 5 kilos off it, Chris has smashed his and Pati is right on it. Shannan is really impressed because they’ve all come in with a dream, not knowing what it’d take to get down to that goal weight… but they know now!
And now it’s time to say their goodbyes!
Shannan says they’ve been putting their heart and soul into training and educating and looking after them all, so it was really hard to say goodbye.
Marty says they owe them so much because the trainers are the ones who’d inspired and pushed them and motivated them and shown them the way to get to the final three.
The last thing Chris says to Shannan was a big thankyou, he now understands that he had to change from the inside out. Shannan says that that, for him, was the icing on the cake.
The contestants head out of the house for the final time. They all have their own stretch limos, nice!
Chris says goodbye, tells them not to work too hard, don’t want to strain themselves or anything! Good luck.
They all say goodbye, good luck, see a skinnier version of you in a couple of weeks!
Chris says he never dreamed he’d lose as much weight as he had. He’s particularly happy about the numbers he did inside the house because he did his best numbers in the house, so there must be something special about it.
Pati says she gained a lot of knowledge from being in the house, especially about how to be the best person she can be.
Marty says he’s been on a real rollercoaster since coming into the house, he’s been in and out, but perseverance has kept him in and now he’s in the final three!
Pati says she’s got a better quality of life now and knows how to share her time with people better and so on.
Chris says he’s stoked to be going home. He’s got a really close family and being without it he didn’t realise how much he needs the support network. He’s most especially looking forward to seeing his Mum, his sisters as well, but mostly his Mum.
Chris’ Mum is nervous while waiting to see Christopher and curious to see what he looks like.
As he strolls in the door a lot of the girls squeal and his Mum’s jaw nearly hits the floor. Chris says the last couple of years haven’t been so great but they’ve gotten through it.
Chris’ Mum says she was shocked, she didn’t recognise him. He didn’t look like the son she said goodbye to a couple of months ago. She yanks up his shirt and checks his tummy but it’s no longer there… Then she turns him around and checks out his arse?!
Chris’ Dad says the change is amazing, he’s thinner in the face and thin all over now. He’s amazed you can lose so much weight like that.
Chris’ friend Fred is amazed as well, he didn’t expect Chris would lose that much weight, he was figuring Chris would get down to 95kg.
Chris’ Dad has a little speech saying how proud they are of him. Chris’ hot sister Fiona says he’s got a lot of determination and she hopes he wins.
6 weeks on… Chris is looking less gaunt. His slimmer frame is looking a lot less sickly. He’s got a lot of muscles on his body now. Chris’ trainer Ray says he’s sure Chris has what it takes to win.
Chris barely recognises himself in the mirror now and he trains hard, but not so hard that he can’t back up the next day. Winning will be a big bonus, but his healthy is so much more important to him these days.
Chris is even cooking lunch for his Mum! Some salmon and other crap on a George Foreman grill. He says his calories are around 1,500-2,000 calories are a day, which is more than he was on inside the house, but he needs the extra energy to train and he’s got to work so much harder at the moment. He’s hoping he’ll be at his goal weight by the finale.
He says people think you have to eat basically nothing to lose weight but if he didn’t eat so many calories, he couldn’t train as hard as he does.
Chris says the next time we see him will be at the finale and if you think he looks good now, wait till you see him at the finale, he’s going to be looking great!
Pati arrives home in a white limo at her sister’s house.
She says as she was walking around the corner of the house she had butterflies. Everyone cheers really loudly when they see her come round the corner. Her sister says if anyone deserves it, she deserves it, she deserves to be happy.
Her sister says they’re all so proud of her, her kids look at her and are inspired. She says Pati is brimming with self confidence, she hasn’t been that way in so long.
Her Mum is there as well and they haven’t seen each other in a long time, they’ve been out of contact for quite a while. They both burst into tears and have a huge hug.
Pati says it’s such a good feeling to be so loved.
6 weeks on… Pati’s gotten a lot less fat around the face! Her arms are much thinner and she even has some muscle definition now. She’s really happy about being able to walk into shops and buy things off the rack. The show taught her that eating healthy doesn’t have to take long, it’s not hard and it tastes good! She’s been sharing everything she’s learnt with her family. She’s hoping to hit 64kg by the finale! Crikey!
She’s up against two guys and she’s seeing it as having to do it “for the chicks”, as well as for the indigenous people. She says that Chris and Marty should go have another slice of chocolate cake, it won’t do them any harm! Have some icecream as well! Then she says to watch their back because she’s coming after them!
Marty is ecstatic that he’s made the finals. Even though his family have seen him before they’re still going to be shocked to see him. His family will be laughing and crying, a whole barrel of mixed emotions. He’s looking forward to seeing his Mum and Dad. His Mum was “excited!”
They saw him when he’d lost 30kg, then 40kg, and now they’re going to see him when he’s lost 50kg!
He heads out to the backyard and there’s lots of cheering and hollering and then his nephews and nieces barrel into him for a big tackle hug. And he can see his Mum and she’s bawling, which he didn’t expect and so is his Dad, all of which makes him realise it was worth it.
Two random girls cheer and jiggle and one of them blurts out that he looks so hot! No idea if that’s incest or an opportunity. Hopefully the second!
Marty’s Dad is bawling and saying Marty’s never looked better in his life, not even when he was a little kid.
6 weeks on… Marty’s buff! He says before coming on the show his fitness was extremely low, he’d be lucky if he could run 200m. If he could, it’d take him 20 minutes to recover. He does two to two and a half hours training in the gym 6 days a week, as well as doing 10km runs, and he feels great!
5 days a week he has an hour, hour and a half with his personal trainer Capi. She was at his welcome home party as well, cool!
She says he usually gets there a half hour early to warm up and so on. He’s looking so ripped, she says, because of all the weight training, which makes him happy and motivates him.
Marty says his advice to the other competitors is to be true to yourself, keep your intensity and integrity and you’re a winner regardless. But they’ll have to train hard to beat him!
Sunday we get a half hour recap retrospective look at the season and people’s opinions on who’s going to win. All the highs, all the lows and their chances at winning will be rated in some fashion.
And also… “Which inspirational contestant will be the surprise winner of Shannan and Michelle’s trainer’s choice award?” Jules, der? :-)
Tune in Sunday night to find out. And make sure you switch off really quickly afterwards so you don’t have to watch Big Brother!
