Recap #60 – Friday 13th April – Eliminated Contestants Super Challenge!

Time for the super duper challenge of pastel coloured DOOM!

Who’ll win the right to change to a whiteshirt tonight? Read on to find out…

Pastels head off for the super challenge… Courtney calls shotgun and runs like a twit to the second car. Fool!
Alex says he’d love to win the super challenge because his kids have missed a lot of play time with him and he’d like to show them that it wasn’t a waste of time.

Shannan and Michelle arrive at the house in the morning and Shannan says, yet again, that they didn’t know what to expect.
Only the white and black shirts are in the house when they arrive as the pastels have already left for the super challenge, as the two trainers are told about it. Afterwards Michelle says that the pastels are all out there training, so the rest of them better get to it as well!

“Shannan took the whites and I took the blacks.” – The ever so racist Michelle! :-D

Michelle tells them that their chances might change drastically depending on who comes back in through the door. Pati thinks it sucks that people who’ve gotten to go back outside and be re-energised and with their family might get to come back again.
Michelle then takes Munnalita and Pati off by themselves because they’re “her girls!” During some heavy bag boxing training, she asks them if they had a magic wand, who would they make sure wouldn’t be coming back? Munnalita says Marty because he’s got everything in him to win it and he’s had so many chances. Pati agrees.
Munnalita says that whoever comes back with a whiteshirt might take Pati’s or her places and that’s really unfair. Michelle says that the way to prevent that is to make sure you’re not under the yellow line!

And now we’re off with the pastels on the beach. Damien says that this is his last chance to win a whiteshirt so he’s going to give it everything.
Alex has accepted that if he doesn’t make it, he doesn’t make it… But he’s going to try his hardest.
Kelly’s the only female contestant in the super challenge but she feels it’ll simply drive her harder.

They’re going to race almost 4 kilometres. Sprint down the beach, up a massive sand dune. When you get to the top you have to answer a question. Get it wrong and you have to return to the start. Get it right and you can progress on to a swimming section, then run back to the start again and do it all over again. Three times in total.
On the third lap the first three competitors to swim out 200 metres to a boat will win a whiteshirt.

Marty’s hoping and praying that God is on his side. I’m fairly sure he’s not going to carry you mate, it’s all down to you.
Courtney takes an early lead during the first lap and heading up the beach. Then he starts climbing the huge sand dune.
Marty decides to be sneaky and see what Courtney picks to try and find the answer out that way. Not really in the spirit of the competition I wouldn’t’ve thought…

The first question is which has more carbohydrates, a kilo of cooked potatoes or a kilo of cooked jasmine rice. Courtney says he’s allowed rice but not potatoes, so he figures potatoes and is wrong. Marty correctly guesses rice, as does Michael.
Damien’s pretty puffed by the time he gets to the bottom of the sand dune. He’s hoping to get the answers right first time and rely on the others getting some wrong.
On his way up the hill he passes Courtney… who tells him the answer! Damien’s not entirely sure whether to trust the answer but he ultimately picks what Courtney said and is, of course, correct. He says every time in the past, Courtney’s given him reason to trust him and he really appreciates Courtney doing it again today.
Courtney didn’t tell Kelly, however, and she gets it wrong and has to waddle back down the hill while Damien is still ascending. Ha!
Courtney thinks that he might’ve sealed his fate by helping Damien but he still feels good about it because if anyone can win it, it’s Damien, go Damo!

Alex is still struggling along the sand while Marty is getting back up out of the water!
Marty’s still in the lead but Michael is fairly close behind. They both go past Kelly on her second trip up the beach. Kelly is really excited for how well Michael is going, even though she realises she won’t be in the white herself today.
Courtney overtakes Alex on his second trip up the sand dune, so he’s back in fourth. He’s still wondering if he’s stuffed because of messing up the question.

Damien’s not looking forward to continuing but it’s a job that had to be done. The Biggest Loser has changed his life and he’s doing things now he never could have done at 216kg.
Alex keeps telling himself that there’s no excuses, just keep going. Back on Day One he was “a sad little Alex”, but now he’s a totally different animal, he won’t stop!

Michael doesn’t want to feel like a failure again as he sort of felt he was after being eliminated the first time. He doesn’t want to let down his family again.
Courtney says that 3 months ago if someone had said to run up and down the beach and go for a swim and do it three times he would’ve told them to piss off, he ain’t doing that shit and what’s the point? “I guess that’s why I was fat, wasn’t I?”

Marty is no longer in the lead and heads up the hill to check out the second question: which contains more protein, 1kg of raw tuna or 1kg of uncooked t-bone steak.
The answer is tuna and he gets it correct! He runs down the hill to try and catch up to Michael who is currently, sadly, in the lead.
Michael swims out to the boat and grabs the first shirt, Marty heads out onto the water as Michael has only just pulled himself up onto the boat. Michael’s standing up on the deck cheering for Marty to keep going.
Michael’s not sure who’ll be coming third and Marty tells him that Damien was right behind him but Courtney was probably not far behind so it depends on how well Damien does during the swim leg.

Damien’s still trundling along on his third lap, still in third place. He still doesn’t think he’s safe. Courtney’s in 4th, Alex in 5th and Kelly presumably 6th.
Courtney’s trying to make up time during the running section. He says he hasn’t been in the house so long to just give up.
Damien enters the water first and Marty says he hopes no one comes out of the treeline too soon.
But Damien is safe, he finally gets to the boat to the delight of both Marty and Michael.

Courtney gets to the water and can see Damien out on the boat, but Courtney is determined to finish the race anyway. Alex sees them out there and is very proud of them. He’s sure they’ll go on to achieve even more than they’ve already achieved.

Michael says Shannan will be so pleased at two Blues making it through, though he says to Marty that for a Red guy, he’s alright!
Marty says they’re all stoked because they realised it means that the three biggest guys in the game had all made it through, and Damien says it’s the worst case scenario for the contestants back in the house, they wouldn’t’ve been expecting this!

Next time there’ll be a special double weigh-in. The whiteshirts will be fighting for the chance to get back into the game and the blackshirts will be fighting to not be eliminated… And apparently there’ll be an elimination from the five people on Monday night based on the results of the combined weigh-in – the four existing contestants plus whatever the best whiteshirt achieves… Which virtually guarantees a current blackshirt will be going home, since the winning whiteshirt will have to have done a very significant number to have beaten the other whiteshirts in the first place!
And it looks like Chris might be one of the ones below the yellow line. He looks a bit nervous about his result and Kim has a smirk on her face at one point during the weigh-in and has a comment about being sure karma will catch up at some point!

Find out Sunday night whether I’ve guessed correctly!
