Recap #45 – Tuesday 27th March – Makeover Madness!

Tonight the contestants get their makeover with the help of Jillian and Bob!

Unfortunately it turns out that my PVR doesn’t record things if you leave it on the channel selection page and I was busy with other things so I totally missed it. Oops!

Will see what I can do about getting a copy of it later tonight to do the recap from. May include some pictures of their assorted new looks to make up for my incredible incompetence! :-)

(This post is a placeholder and will be replaced by the full recap later on.) Full recap now available! With added picture-y goodness! Read on for more details…

Tonight… Bob & Jillian are back, weeeeeeeeeeeeeee!

Damien says that Bob & Jillian are back and that’s exactly what he wanted.
“The loud Americans are back!” – Bob
Bob says it’s been two months since they left the house and he can’t wait to see how they’re shaping up.
Munnalita thinks that having them back this week will be exactly what they need. Pati says they’ve been feeling so down lately. Marty says everyone was over the moon that they’re back.
Bob is really happy to see how much everyone has lost since they left.
Bob & Jillian also meet the newcomers for the first time.

Bob’s going down the line and down the line and then realises… the Blue team is GONE. Except for one Blue team member. Bob points it out to Jillian and she sort of looks away and is obviously trying not to smirk.

Jillian finally asks what the story is with the newcomers and Kimberlie says they’ve been training since Day One with the Commando… And Jillian has to ask who the Commando is. “I will Commando his ass! But it looks like he’s been doing a good job so maybe I’ll just shut up?” – Jillian

Munnalita asks Bob & Jillian why they’re back in an obviously very staged question…
Bob has a side bit here to say that Shannan and Michelle are off preparing some big surprise for the contestants (oooh, mysterious!) and they called Bob & Jillian in America to come fill in for a bit.
Jillian says they need to acknowledge their accomplishments and say goodbye to the old them, etc. They need some motivation again as the numbers are maybe not so good at the moment?

Now it’s time to hit the gym! Bob takes the two newbies and Damien, which Jillian says she’s jealous of, because she loves breaking in newbies. She hasn’t gotten to kick some ass in a long time! (Presumably because she’s not been doing American TBL related stuff while Bob probably has, not having quit as Jillian did.)

Damien says he knows Bob & Jillian can be tough but he’s looking forward to it.
Courtney says what she did to them in Week 1 was nothing, they’re in Week 8 now, it’s going to be 8 times harder!
Marty says they’re all looking forward to showing Bob & Jillian how far they’ve come.

In the gym Jillian points out that when she first got them in the gym, none of them could run for five minutes. She has a bit of a giggle at that.
Munnalita wants to lose more weight so even though she knows it’s going to be a scary week, she’s actually looking forward to it!
Courtney’s mindset has changed and now whatever Jillian asks, he’s going to do it, he’s not going to tell her to back off.

Marty says they did some squats with weights and pushups, 250 of each. Munnalita managed to do pushups on her toes whereas before she wouldn’t’ve been able to do one!
Courtney thinks of this as round two with Jillian, he wants to get rid of the old perceptions. Jillian says he’s not the kid she beat the crap out of a couple of months ago. She says she was probably the most ruthless with him that she’s ever been with anyone on the show, ever. She felt it was the only way to really grab him and shake him up a bit. She now realises that the day at the football field where she really caned him was exactly what he needed to turn his life around.
Courtney says Jillian is one of the strangest people he’s ever met, she can be really tough in training but on the emotional side she can help out, and she can read you like an open book. She’s brilliant!

Bob gets his Blue and newbs on the treadmills first up. He wants to be sure they’ve got strength and stamina because they’re nearing the end of the game now and it’s going to get really tough now.
He really loves that Damien isn’t a quitter, whatever he does, he does it well.
Damien says it felt great to show Bob how far he’d come.
Bob says he wants Damien to go all the way in the game because he has great determination.
He also says Chris and Kim’s outside training has worked for them.
He thinks Chris is strong. He likes Kim as well, after she says she’s just there to lose the weight. He really likes that sort of thing.
Bob thinks Damien could be the winner because he’s got the weight to lose, he’s got the determination, but Chris could do it as well because he’s the fittest in the house.

Bob and Jillian sit down with everyone to have a chat with them about how proud they both are of how far everyone has come.
And now, they’re going to reward them for their efforts.
“I love this. You know what we’re doing? You know what we’re doing tomorrow?” Bob asks Jillian. Jillian’s face lights up, “Ohhhhhhh! Oh!”
Makeover day!
Everyone is really excited. Munnalita says she’s looking forward to looking at herself in the mirror… going by all the makeup she’s wearing I doubt it’s been too long since she looked in a mirror anyway.

Bob says he wants a makeover too! Jillian says it’s an opportunity for them to see the changes they’ve made, get some new motivation and feel good about themselves.

Next morning they all head into the city… In their Biggest Loser gear. As they’re taking up most of the footpath strutting along a young guy walks past them and as he gets past them he takes a look behind him, obviously realising what he just saw!

First stop is Joh Bailey’s hair salon. Not only is he egotistical enough to name his hair salon after himself, he even greets them by saying, “Welcome to Joh Bailey!”
Some girls are also there from Napoleon to do all their makeup and so on.

Munnalita says she is a hairdresser and owns her own hair salon and she’s going to find it difficult sitting in another salon with another hairdresser telling her how she should look. Someone needs to!
Pati’s never been to the hairdresser. Ever. She’s a little nervous about telling them to do whatever they want.

Bob and Jillian turn up at last. Jillian really likes Marty’s new haircut… Which is really just a buzzcut with the clippers. She makes a really big deal about it, but I can’t really see the improvement myself. He just looks like even more of a melonhead! She thinks that even the littlest changes make him look much younger.

Bob’s having a chat with Damien trying to convince him not to wait until the finale to shave his big beard off, do it today! Damien’s not so sure. Damien’s also going blonde, apparently. Got the foils starting to be put into his hair.
Damien’s had the beard for about six years. Jillian’s chatting with him too and he tells her that it hides his double chin, it’s a bit of a security blanket.

Courtney’s in a chair as well… And Jillian says, “You’re fixing this, right?” Bwahaha!

Chris is off… Getting a spray-tan?
Kim is going blonde. Er. Nordic! Bob wants to tell her she has such a pretty face, but it’s a really annoying thing to tell a fat girl, because they just don’t want to hear it!

Munnalita’s going to go back to her natural colour. Ish. Maybe a bit lighter than her regular colour. She wants to do it so she’s not always having to do her hair and makeup.
If she doesn’t wear god awful red lippy to the elimination, I’ll eat my hat.

Pati wants something that will make her feel confident and beautiful.

Bob finally convinces Damien to shave the beard. Chris comes in here to say that he looks like a completely different person, to the point of having trouble recognising him. And he’s right, the difference is… phenomenal. Courtney says that he looks a whole lot younger as a result.

Jillian attacks Courtney with a trimmer to get rid of his silly little goatee. Courtney thinks to himself, “Ohhh, you bitch!”
But Jillian has him look in the mirror and tells him to look at how hot he looks! He’s had his hair fixed by this point and the difference is indeed astounding. He doesn’t look like an idiot anymore!
Now that she’s done it, Courtney says he doesn’t mind. Thinks it makes him look more mature. He still has the scruffiness in his hair so I don’t know that I’d go that far…

“I really like it. I think I look really nice.” – Munnalita.

Pati’s hairstyle is the biggest change of the girls. Gone is the ugly unruly mass of hair down her back and she now has a short stylishly modern ‘do. Looks really nice.
“I feel sexy!” – Pati. Jillian is thrilled and Bob is really impressed by the change as well. Courtney says she looks like “one of those divas”.

Now we see what Damien’s hair looks like and it’s actually more streaks of blonde than blonde all over and he looks way younger because of it. Still a little scruffy and grungey in the beard area but his hair is much shorter.

Now it’s time for a big photoshoot for Woman’s Day.
Jillian says it’s a milestone for them to actually be looking forward to having their photo seen by millions of people. I suspect ten times as many people watch the show each night as buy Woman’s Day, but anyway…

Sheridan Tyler is going to get them into some swanky clothes for the photoshoot.

Courtney’s MakeoverCourtney actually looks pretty stylish in his gear. He really only looks fat in the face, the rest of his body is just… a body. You can’t tell he still has manboobs under his jacket or anything like that.
Jillian is really impressed by how handsome he looks. She reminds him that he felt he was dumb stupid and ugly at the start. Courtney says he’s now beginning to love himself. I think a lot of people were under the impression he was loving himself a bit too much in the past…

Damien’s MakeoverDamien… looks bad. It’s a nice jacket and jeans combo and his hair is a decent enough cut… But neither suit him at all. It just doesn’t look right on him. He’s happy to be in jeans for the first time in years though.

Munnalita’s MakeoverMunnalita looks like an air hostess. Maybe she could get Ralph Fiennes to provide her with babies?

Marty’s MakeoverMarty looks pretty stylish. Says the old Marty was always trying to look after everyone else and while the new Marty still does that, he realises that he needs to put himself first.
Jillian says he looks amazing!

Chris’ MakeoverChris had sort of resigned himself to not liking having his photo taken before. I doubt these shots would change his mind since he looks terribly awkward and uncomfortable. Nobody really cares though because he’s far too new…

Kimberlie’s MakeoverKimberlie looks like she’s in an ABBA coverband. A bad one.
She says it doesn’t look like her in the photos because of the hair and the clothes and so on.
Bob says that the main thing he learnt from what Kim told him was that she’s the little fat girl who doesn’t want to be fat anymore.

Pati’s MakeoverPati’s hair still looks amazing. Her red dress with giant black silk belt thing cinching it at the waist? Ugly. Ugly as sin. Whoever thought she looked good in it obviously doesn’t have a clue as all it does is emphasise the fact that she’s still very much overweight.
Jillian loves it. She thinks Pati’s confidence and strength is exuding from every pore now.
The actual photo of Pati turned out alright, since the dress looks okay when posed. But when she’s walking around it’s just terrible.Bob says they got a makeover today but the real makeover is what’s going on inside the house every day.
Bob then gets them all “mocktails” – non-alcoholic cocktails. Blue, no less!Jillian is glad they’ve had a little respite today because tomorrow? They’re straight back to work!

Tomorrow night there’s a lot of pain at training. And at Temptation not everything is black and white, apparently? Lots of little chocolates sitting atop glasses, which Munnalita describes as her wildest dreams come true but also her worst nightmare.
148 calories for each chocolate? And it looks like Munnalita is going to eat at least one, so apparently she still hasn’t learnt a thing!
Will anyone else indulge? Or have some of them at least learnt something about self-control at last?
