Recap #44 – Monday 26th March – Week 7 Elimination
A recap right after the intro theme of Munnalita losing nothing. It’s still awesomely hilarious!
Followed by another couple of minutes of recaps of everything that happened last night…
What new things happened tonight? Read on to find out!
They finally head out of the weigh-in room. Laura says it was all pretty silent when they got out. Courtney says everyone was looking really upset. Except Chris, who was all la la la, doesn’t care, gets to throw someone out, one step closer to winning the game.
Kimberlie says she “can’t” vote for Munnalita and can’t really vote for Laura either, because neither of them is ready to go home. She says at the moment it’s looking like she’ll be voting for Courtney or… Laura? It’s not entirely clear.
Damien has a chat with Chris. Chris asks him what he’s thinking and Damien says the more important bit is what he’s thinking about?
He goes on to say that he’s probably going to vote on what’s best for him in the game and at the moment, that means Courtney as they’re the closest competitively.
Damien says sometimes people vote with their heart, sometimes with their heads.
Munnalita thinks that when it comes to her chances it’ll come down to Marty’s influence, he holds the key.
Laura asks Marty what he’s thinking and Marty admits that either way he could go for revenge, either voting for Courtney and Munnalita because they both voted for him… But then it was Blue’s decision that actually sent him home in the end.
Laura foolishly says to him that Damien and Munnalita shouldn’t be the one because they’re not ready to go home yet, they’re not in the right frame of mind. Laura says she doesn’t want to see Courtney go either. Marty asks her if she’s putting her hand up and she sort of nods. Marty says he understands where she’s coming from, but maybe the Reds will just stab him in the back again if he doesn’t vote for one of them. But for now, he’s tossing up between Laura and Courtney but he has no idea which way he’ll go.
Ajay asks if Munnalita thinks she deserves to stay in the game and Munnalita says yes she does, she thinks everyone deserves to stay. If it’s a hung vote and she has to go home because she lost no weight, she’d think that’s a bit unfair. She says she hasn’t been sitting around doing nothing, she’s been working really hard to lose no weight.
Ajay says to Courtney that it’s the first time he’s been in the elimination room and not been able to vote. Courtney says that if he wasn’t sitting on that side of the room, he’d be on the other having to choose between Marty and Pati or Damien and Laura and, well, he’d rather not have to make the choice at all.
Laura says she needs to stay there, the longer they stay, the more they learn and the more they can take home with them. She was mostly just disappointed with her results this week.
Damien thinks there’s a big possibility that he’ll be going home this week, he really got lucky last week.
Let the voting begin!
Kim says her decision was difficult, she was adamant she wasn’t going to vote for two of them because they haven’t gained everything they need to gain from being in the house just yet, so they need to stay a bit longer. She says the two remaining people were very noble and willing to sacrifice their position for others. She ended up choosing the one most ready to go, in her opinion.
Laura: 1 (Kimberlie)
Chris is up next. Says he wasn’t looking forward to this part of the game. He thinks all four people are good competitors and will do well. He didn’t want to go with the flow and vote with everyone else, because that person really needs to stay there longer. In the end he chose someone whom he sees as a bit of competition now, but next week he’s going to be a lot more competition.
Courtney: 1 (Chris)
Laura: 1 (Kimberlie)
Pati first says everyone sitting to the left of her she considers a friend and so it was really hard. Her decision ended up being based on who she couldn’t vote for. Two of the people she considers really good friends, she started with them in the house. She also couldn’t vote for one of the other people because they have a long way to go still.
Laura: 2 (Kimberlie, Pati)
Courtney: 1 (Chris)
Come on Marty, vote Courtney! Which will get rid of Munnalita! Ha!
Marty says it was a very hard decision because he has reasons to vote them all off. He says since he’s come back he’s had a chance to chat with the Reds and he’d started to enjoy being around them again. Last time he had to keep his word to Greg, so he had no choice. If Greg wasn’t in it last week he would’ve done his best to keep Damien in the game. Because of that, this week he’s chosen…
Laura?
That gives Laura 3 votes, meaning she’s going home!
Ajay asks, “How’re you feeling?” Laura replies, “I’m okay.” And starts crying. She wants to thank Courtney and Munnalita for supporting her and fighting for her, same with Damien.
She’s not sad to be going, she’s excited to be going home. But she is going to miss everyone. She tells Pati she totally understands her decision and says that since they’ve been roommates they’ve had a lot of fun. Marty is unbelievable, losing almost 40kg, which is amazing.
She barely knows what to say to Damien, her “partner in crime”. When she first came to the Blue team, whinging and crying all the time, they all kept encouraging her and since duoing with Damien they’ve become even closer and she knows they’ll be friends once they get outside as well.
She says without the 5 people here she wouldn’t be the person she is now. She came in a girl but she’s going out a woman!
Damien says he’s seen an amazing transformation in Laura, because yes, she did do a lot of crying and a lot of whinging, especially the times they went to see the Commando, which causes Laura to giggle. “I think you are an amazing woman!”
Munnalita says it’s true what Damien said, she did come in a girl and is leaving as a woman. She took to her right away and says without Laura she wouldn’t’ve got through some of things she’s got through without her. She thanks her for the kind things she said about Damien and herself, especially putting herself on the line to try and keep Munnalita and Damien in the house.
Ajay asks Courtney if he feels like he’s had a narrow escape and he says he’s always doing so. But it happens a lot, like Marty took a bullet, then the bullet was surgically removed and he came back! Which causes a smirky grin to appear on Marty’s face. He goes on to say that Chris probably would’ve voted himself, Damien and Marty off all at the same time if he could’ve and that Chris really needs to learn that it’s not just about losing the weight, it’s about growing mentally and emotionally, it’s not just about the money. That’s going to cause some drama once they get out! Courtney says Laura put her hand up and he’ll be sorry to see her go, but Chris says he couldn’t in good conscience vote for her.
Courtney says he’s sad to see Laura go home, but he’s of course glad to be staying himself, even though this week he’s thought about wanting to go home, because, he tells the new people, they don’t really understand yet, but it sends you crazy, being in the house. Courtney says it’s unbelievable how much pressure there is in the game and that it forces you to change, but it’s best not to fight the journey, it’s better to go with it. He tried to fight it and ended up worse off. “It works better, it’s designed to fix you, physically and mentally!” Ajay gives him a “Well said!”
Chris and Kim get a kiss and a hug from Laura. Pati and Marty get much bigger hugs right after, followed by Munnalita. “Love you long time!” – Courtney
“Have fun!” – Laura
And now The Biggest Loser will change again! No longer competing as duos now, time to go fly solo.
Marty is currently in the #1 slot, with Chris at #2, with just 200 grams seperating them. Munnalita is in third position.
All week long they will also be training without the help of Shannan and Michelle, their trainers. “Are you for real?” – Courtney. Damien points out that if they haven’t learnt how to push themselves yet then it’s time to learn, pretty quickly!
They all sit down once they get out of the lounge to talk about Laura and Courtney says she’s actually a lot stronger than anyone thinks. When they first saw her in the house they all had her pegged as not being able to last the week because she was always crying and a timid little girl. And she walked out tonight proud and strong.
Kim says in an aside that Damien will probably suffer the most from Laura’s elimination because he’s now the only Blue left.
Damien back in the loungeroom says that Laura sort of wanted to go home now anyway, she was getting a bit homesick and she’s got a mission getting her Dad on track now.
Kim thinks it was actually more due to loyalty to the others that she put her hand up. Munnalita says Laura has a heart of gold.
Damien’s aside has him telling us that everyone is obviously still not voting entirely ruthlessly.
Chris says in his aside that it was actually a really stupid thing for her to put her hand up. He says that everyone is probably going to regret it. Kim wishes he’d learn how to be silent!
In the morning everyone wakes up to various new shirts in assorted colours and a nice black one.
Kim thinks it’ll be a good thing to be going solo now because she’s been sort of doing it since Day One… Causing a bit of a dirty look from Chris, though she doesn’t see it. She asks how it’s affecting the others, they’ve been Red and Blue for so long. Damien says he’s going to miss Blue!
Munnalita says it doesn’t really matter that they’re in “singles” now because her and Courtney have been in together for so long and they’re always trying to work out the game to try and get themselves right through to the end.
Damien walks in to chat to Munnalita and Courtney… in a baby blue shirt instead of his usual Blue Team shirt. Munnalita asks him what he’s planning on doing now and Damien says the way he sees it, he’s going to try and look after the original contestants first ahead of the two new people. Courtney says that he’ll go in for that too, but Marty’s definitely there to play the game. Damien says Marty could’ve voted for him last night and didn’t, but Courtney says there was some behind the scenes stuff going on there.
Chris thinks he’ll handle the lack of trainers fairly well but maybe some of the others won’t. He heads outside and does some workouts with a big log. Doing weights with it, sprinting up and down the lawn and so on. He wonders where he would’ve picked that habit up from and then he remembers he’s been doing it for weeks with the Commando.
Courtney and Damien also head out for a bit of a jog around the house, where Courtney sees Munnalita having a bit of a chat with Kim. He doesn’t know what that’s about but he suspects it’s some kind of covert operation, because it always is with Munnalita!
Munnalita asks Kim about how she’s feeling and she says that she thinks if she falls below the yellow line with one of the originals, then she’s gone. But Munnalita says it depends on which one of the originals it is! Marty is not exactly everyone’s favourite. Kim thought that maybe since Marty did what everyone wanted him to do at the elimination he might’ve earnt some brownie points there.
Munnalita sits her down to explain how things “really” are.
If Damien had been the one to go home then Laura would’ve been angry, Courtney would’ve been angry and so would Munnalita and Pati as well and Kim says she wouldn’t’ve been happy either. Munnalita points out that that would have meant if Marty had voted for Damien he would’ve got 5 people angry at him which wouldn’t’ve gotten him any further in the game.
which opens Kim’s eyes a little.
Marty says he prefers to exercise alone because he can get into the zone a lot more. People have come up with lots of names for him like Marty The Machine. He sees everyone wandering around and not exercising which doesn’t bother him because the only way they can hurt him is if he falls below the yellow line, which he has no intention of doing!
Chris is feeling much the same way, he’s stepping up a gear as he knows Marty is doing as well.
Munnalita has come to the realisation that the only way she’s going to lose weight is to lift her heartrate higher, which means she needs to run, which is something she hates doing but she’s going to run and run and run.
Chris says he doesn’t think it’s sunk in to the “alliance” that if they don’t lose the weight they’re going to get picked off one by one anyway.
The contestants all get into the kitchen and find a bunch of cleaning supplies. They have to clean up the whole house because soon they’ll have some mystery guests! Which gets them all wondering, Munnalita wonders if maybe it’s their families?
Marty, Kim and Damien go to clean the bathrooms. Pati and Courtney clean the kitchen while Munnalita and Chris decide to do the vacuuming, but Chris doesn’t even know how to turn his on. Munnalita eventually comes to his rescue and switches it on for him.
Chris says that Courtney didn’t seem to do much all day, just sort of fluffing around with a rag in his hand or sitting down or whatever.
Courtney says Marty and Damien don’t do their fair share, Kim says that Damien is a bit of a grot. It’s a bit chaotic around his bed!
Meanwhile Damien is in the shower with no top on to do the tiles.
And now the house is all sparkly!
They’re all back in the lounge room speculating. They figure it’s got to be someone who cares what the state of the house is. Most of them want it to be loved ones. Pati just doesn’t want it to be someone new to come and play the game.
Everyone gets asked to go out and line up on the front drive. They’re all in black singlets with the weights they’ve lost so far printed on them.
They’re all sure something is going on but no one knows what!
Finally the gates open and the original contestants all break into cheers! “We’re baaaaaack!” says Bob. Bob & Jillian aren’t jogging in for once? But they’ve got huge grins on both their faces.
And now we see how Laura’s doing.
She’s doing pretty well, wearing a sexy low cut top, seems to be a popular choice for ex-contestants of the female persuasion. She’s still got a booty, but she’s training 6 days a week, 3 hours a day, rest day on Sunday. She’s a lot fitter since leaving the show, able to run a lot longer. Sticking to the new diet has been pretty easy. She’s actually really enjoying healthy food, says after a while your body doesn’t crave the junk food anymore. She says she’s only young so of course she worries what she looks like and what clothes she wears. When she went shopping for her dress for her 21st it was a good feeling because she could actually walk into a shop and try something on and know it’ll fit her.
She now weighs just 86kg, having lost 23kg since being on the show.
She said she used to be confident on the outside, but dying on the inside.
She’s happy she’s been inspiring her Dad since getting home, working out with him most nights of the week. They’ve been slowly increasing the time they spend training and increasing the intensity. Her Dad has lost about 7kg so far and he’s feeling a lot lighter and fitter already so he’s quite proud of himself.
Tomorrow night Bob & Jillian’s return shakes up the house. And everyone goes for the required makeover at this stage of the game, which is obviously why Bob & Jillian are back, because Jillian especially really gets a kick out of seeing them all in their fancy pants gear!
Temptation this week involves a whole bunch of chocolate things. The challenge has something to do with climbing a whole bunch of stairs. 73 flights worth up a really tall building. Sounds like fun!
