Recap #43 – Sunday 25th March – Week 7 Weigh-in – It’s Loser, Not Necessarily Losing!

Weigh-in night again, probably the most hyped weigh-in this season and for good reason!
Just who is the Loser who doesn’t lose a thing?

Read on to find out!

Shannan and Michelle are keen to find out what happened at the major challenge since it was the Grey people’s first major challenge and the Commando was involved.
Damien and Laura set out what happened for them. Shannan looks more and more worried as the recounting goes on, especially when they get to the bit about the two Blues now having a 1kg penalty at the weigh-in!

Shannan then asks how the two grey “monkeys” went! They say it went “all right” and so on. Not very enthusiastic. Kimberlie points out that Chris had his plan and it didn’t go so well. Chris said he’d done it before and it worked alright but this time, notsomuch. Shannan tells him that it’s not all about bravado, it’s about team work and facing yourself in the mirror and so on. Chris scoffs early on but shuts up fairly quick.
He tells his Blue team that they’ve pulled through weigh-ins before, time to get stuck in and do it again. He asks Damien if he’s ready and Damien looks… not exactly thrilled at the prospect.
They’re going to have to work hard to offset the 1kg penalty.

Michelle says, “Those two? Build a raft? And win the challenge? How’d that happen!” And then she remembers that they had the Commando. Michelle is really pleased with them and says in her aside that the 1kg penalty will be very, very handy in keeping them above the yellow line.
Then Marty says that the second team to come in was also Red! Which excites Michelle some more!
Munnalita says Michelle seemed a bit sad about Damien and Laura getting the 1kg penalty and Chris and Kim keeping their immunity.
Michelle goes on to say that it’s just life and they’re underestimating their own efforts and their own power to stay above the yellow line.
Pati says that Michelle is going to do everything she can to keep both duos above the line but she knew that one duo would have to end up below the line.
“I think that we should make this one an absolute humdinger!” – Michelle

And now a special catch-up with P’eta!
Wearing a real low-cut top, woo!
She looks a lot better than she did but she’s very definitely still very overweight.
But she’s looking good! We don’t really spend much time with her though…

Michelle sits Pati down for a private chat. Pati says her life hasn’t always been good. She put weight on as a defensive thing because if she was fat then it’d match how she felt inside. She says the weight has been hard to lose but the emotional baggage has probably been harder.
She didn’t have a good relationship with her Mum, apparently. Michelle reminds her that her sister is proud of her at least, she’s seen her on the videotape!
Pati’s sister kind of raised her, being 5 years older than her. She’s hoping her nieces and nephews will see her as a role model to healthier living and now she can keep up with them a lot better. It used to be when she ran her butt bounced a lot. It still bounces, but there’s a lot less there!
She’s very proud of herself and she’s realised she can do anything she wants.
Michelle says the body and mind are connected so when you start feeling stronger and healthier you start feeling more positive and happier as well!
“Learning to love yourself, man, there’s nothing wrong with that!” – Pati

Shannan has Chris and Kim for last chance training for the very first time. He wants to cane them pretty hard so they realise what it’s all about. Chris is surprised at how hard it is, Shannan’s pushing them very hard.
Chris hops off the treadmill early at one point and Shannan says he’s not done, get back on, you’re not done! Very disappointed!
Shannan says that the quickest and best way to get accepted by other people in the house is to prove that regardless of immunity, they would’ve been above the yellow line anyway.
Kim says that Shannan said she will hopefully lose 2 or 3 kilos. Chris is hoping for around 6 but expecting more like 2 or 3 as well.

Michelle has her Reds. No sign of the Blues so far.
“You can’t beat training on a bike!” – Michelle
Michelle says Pati gets quieter and more focused the harder she trains. Marty is the exact opposite, the harder he trains, you can hear him from other rooms!
She tries to make sure Courtney and Munnalita don’t rest on their laurels after having such good numbers last week and having the 1kg bonus.

Special catchup with Gerard!
Still chubby but definitely looking quite a lot better. He just looks like a solidly built Dad type guy. He’s lost 37kg, so far, the little bit under his nameplate says.
Don’t see much of him, either.

Shannan says Damien and Laura are going to have to work really, really hard to lose more weight, because they’ve both done so well so far. He wants them to use their anger and aggression over the 1kg penalty to lose enough weight.
“Go the freight train! Go the freight train!” – Shannan on Damien’s 15km/h on the treadmill.
Shannan says they’ve been working so hard together, training together, supporting each other and they’ve earnt their weightloss. He’s proud of them!

Marty’s nervous about the weigh-in. Pati’s mostly just interesting to see how Chris and Kim have done.
Laura’s nervous too. Kim’s worried because she’s not sure if her weight will have gone up or down.

Ajay reminds Chris and Kim that they have immunity and are safe from elimination this week… unless, of course, one of them should happen to put on weight, in which case they will be stripped of immunity and be automatically up for elimination!!! Nice casually dropped bombshell there, Ajay! Have we just not heard this before for some reason?
“I hope that happens!” – Courtney, whispering to Munnalita.

Ajay also reminds Courtney and Munnalita of their 1kg bonus, Damien and Laura of their 1kg penalty.

First duo up tonight will be… Chris and Kim!
Kimberlie is sent up to the plate first. She’s hoping to be under the 120kg mark.
Week 7: 119.4kg – LOSS: 2.1kg
She beams at that, fairly weak number though. She says it feels good to break 120kg.
She says it’s her goal to lose weight, and she personally thinks Chris is there to win the money.
Chris has a side interview here saying that she’s always trying to stick the knife in and he’s beyond caring now because he doesn’t think she’ll be able to keep up the pace and she’ll probably end up going home in a week and he’ll laugh! Courtney’s having a good laugh in his aside at all this.

Chris is up next, a little nervous but not too bad because he wanted to put in a good show at least. Silence the critics and all that.
Week 7: 111.8kg – LOSS: 6.4kg
Marty looks a bit freaked out. Chris doesn’t seem all that impressed. “Yay for me, I suppose?” – Chris
Kim was shocked that he pulled such a great number. Pati now sees that he’s a pretty big threat. Courtney thinks it’s good because the more he loses in an immunity week, the less he’ll have to lose next week, so Courtney can then vote him off!

Total percentage: 3.55%
Chris thinks to himself that that was pretty much all him and he’s hoping he doesn’t have to carry Kim again next week. He thinks the 100kg mark will be a big breakpoint for him.

Courtney is confident because he thinks Munnalita has been working harder than Kim. Pati is confident that her and Marty are going to blow Chris and Kim out of the water. Laura was also fairly confident they’d done enough.

Next up are Pati and Marty.
Pati’s hoping for over 3kg.
Week 7: 94.1kg – LOSS: 2.2kg
“I was hoping for more than that, definitely.” – Pati
She’s shocked and a bit humiliated. Marty was hoping for a 3.5 or 4 out of her. Pati’s getting worried then, wondering how she was going to save her sorry arse.

Marty’s turn. He’s hoping for around 6.4kg to beat Chris and Kim.
Week 7: 119.9kg – LOSS 2.6kg
He’s shaking his head. Someone says “What?!” in the background. He figures he must’ve been due for a plateau period. By his calorie count he should’ve done 5 or so, he thinks. Pati feels disappointed, thinking they’ve just blown it.

Total percentage: 2.19%

Courtney thinks he’s stuffed because Marty is usually a kilo or two ahead of him. Marty and Pati are looking very grim!

Damien and Laura are next up. Ajay rubs salt into their wounds, reminding them they lost both challenges and bringing a 1kg penalty. Do they think it’ll work against them? Damien looks at her like she’s retarded or something and says that it pretty much has to work against them.
They’ll need to lose at least 7kg to get ahead of Marty and Pati. That’s a problem methinks.

Laura’s going first. She’s aiming for 4.5kg but will be happy with anything over 3.
Week 7: 93.1kg – LOSS 1.3kg
She looks like she’s about to cry. Again. She’s worried now. “No offense, but I want my place here. I think that us 6 probably deserve to be here a little bit more than them. We’ve done it tough in here and that’s why I think we probably deserve it a little bit more.” – Laura
Pati says it’s been tough on her because she thought that she was at a certain point in the game but then she got pushed back.

The freight train is up next! Damien needs at least 5.7kg to get them over the line and he’s feeling confident he can do it.
Week 7: 170.6kg – LOSS 3.9kg
Nowhere near enough. He’s happy with the number but still disappointed because it’s not enough to get them over the line. He’s devastated, he’s worked really hard all week. Laura’s a bit shocked because they’ve all worked very hard.

Total percentage: 1.56% (after 1kg penalty)
They’re now definitely up for elimination as they have no way to get above the line. Chris wonders that, since he’s such a big threat, will everyone be voting Damien out now?

Courtney and Munnalita are up next. They’ll need at least 3.6kg between them. Courtney thinks they’re going to romp in, Munnalita thinks it’s quite achievable. Pati has no doubts they’ll pull it off.
courtney gets to go first again this week. He’s feeling a bit nervous as usual, hoping he got what he expected to get.
Week 7: 110.5kg – LOSS: 0.7kg
“You can piss 700 grams out!” – Courtney. Munnalita was shocked, she thought he would have lost at least 2kg. Pati is gobsmacked! He trains and watched what he ate this week, it doesn’t make sense.
Ajay asks him if he thinks Munnalita has done enough for them to get over the line. He says it doesn’t matter. She asks if he feels like he’s let Munnalita down and Munnalita shakes her head at him, but he says that yeah he does a bit, looking at that number. “We’ve come this far, made friendships, what’s two hundred grand?” He knows she’ll be in his life for the rest of his life, nagging and hassling him!

Munnalita’s turn! She must lose at least 2.9kg to save herself and Courtney from elimination! She’s getting stressed! Marty says to Pati that they’re going under the line!
Week 7: 97.9kg. – …

SHE LOST NO WEIGHT AT ALL! HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!
“Oh my gawwwwwwd? How can it be the same?!” She’s dumbfounded, she can’t believe it. Pati and Courtney both say that it’s impossible! Courtney says she was obviously just about to fall apart. Everyone feels pretty bad for her. Damien and Laura are probably dancing a little on the inside, though.
Courtney says he knows that she’ll have thoughts about chocolate and going to bed and go home and cry and so on.
Munnalita says that on the outside she would have given up, if she can’t lose the weight well, may as well keep eating.
She now apologises to Courtney for nagging him so much during the week and so on.

Total percentage: 0.81% (AFTER 1kg bonus!)
Hahahaha they’re in last place, below Laura and Damien. They’re now facing elimination!

And as it turns out, Chris and Kim are the biggest losers. Even without immunity they were quite safe. Would you look at that, guess they shouldn’t’ve had immunity after all!

And now it’s time for a twist!
“Great!” – Courtney.
Ajay says that although they are still in duos, only one contestant below the yellow line will be going home.

Huh?

Pati says it’s great because she won’t have to say goodbye to two people. Munnalita thinks her chances have improved a lot because of that.
The 4 people above the line will only have to vote for one person. In the event of a tie, the person with the lowest percentage will be going home. Which is Munnalita, ha!
She was very disappointed with that announcement, thinking it might’ve been whoever had lost the least amount since they’d been there. Because, you know, she’s so important that they’d change the rules to keep her!
Courtney thinks him and Laura are most at risk of being voted out.

Tomorrow night, “What a fucked up weigh-in!”
Half the house is facing elimination and two of the people voting barely know the people up for elimination. Damien tells Chris that sometimes people vote with their hearts, sometimes their heads.
After the elimination the trainers are gone!

But after 6 long weeks away, BOB AND JILLIAN RETURNETH! “We’re baaaack!”
