Recap #31 – Sunday 11th March – Week 5 Weigh-in Results

Weigh-in night once again, week 5 results are in and they’re set to stun!

Who will lose weight? Who will gain weight? Will Ajay do a nudie lap of the weigh-in room after cracking under the pressure of having to be so boring all the time?

Read on to find out!

The teams return to the House and find that all the gym equipment has been returned at last, which makes the whole team and Shannan very happy. A lot of blue are carrying injuries, so they really need the equipment to help them out.
A lot of focus on upper body weight workouts today, since most of the injuries are leg related.

Red return a little while later, all in high spirits due to being the winners!
Michelle knows there’s still fractures in the team so she takes Munnalita aside to have a chat and asks what’s going on.
Munnalita bitches about Marty. A lot. Apparently he tells everyone what to do a lot and Michelle’s rarely around to see that part of his personality, she just sees the “good” Marty.
Michelle thinks that Marty is a valuable player for Red and he trains hard. It’s not that he’s a bad person, he just wants everyone to work hard and win for the team!
She also says that at the end of the day they just have to train hard and eat right and that’s all that matters.

Shannan goes for a chat with Laura, reminding her that this week is Project Laura!
He says that she appears to be training hard and appears she’s eating well, but he’s not sure all the bits are in place. He knows that the reason she’s put on weight is she’s the youngest girl in an Italian family and she’s been spoiled.
Him and Laura wander back out of the bedroom chat hand in hand. Oh dear!
They head out to have lunch together, with Laura cooking for him. Awww!
Shannan wants to check that she’s weighing all her food properly and so on.
He also says that the blander the food tastes, the less you want to eat of it. I have to wonder what the point is of eating at all if the food tastes crap!
Then he tells Laura that her Mum is going to want to kill him because she won’t eat her Mum’s cooking anymore when she gets home!
He knows that she badly needs to pull a good number this week or there’s every chance she’ll be the one heading home.

And now a special feature – catching up with Sam!
The old Sam would have never had the confidence to do a photoshoot, but new Sam is doing one!
She’s still fairly chubby, but she’s under 100kg now apparently, having lost 28.4kg. She started at 128kg though so she’s only just barely under 100kg!

Michelle now takes time out to chat to Marty. Marty says in his aside that he doesn’t trust Munnalita or Courtney. And he tells Michelle that he notices the others are often talking about what they’re going to do if they’re in elimination, whereas he thinks they should be focusing their energy on not facing elimination at all!
Munnalita wants to be in control and have the say in everything and as soon as someone else wants to have a say, she bitches. He sometimes feels like he wants to walk out, but he won’t do that because he doesn’t want to quit.
Michelle says she thinks they don’t get along because they’re both strong willed people and, well, it’s pretty much to be expected that they’re going to clash!

Munnalita is bitching about Marty with Courtney and Pati, saying she feels like she has to get permission to leave the gym. He acts like he’s the personal trainer when Michelle’s not around, which they’re not real happy about.
Afterwards, Michelle walks in to talk to Munnalita, Courtney and Pati.

Michelle actually feels like, as the trainer, she should be appreciative of someone being around to crack the whip when she’s not there… but she can also see that it’s probably not making him popular with the rest of the team.
She doesn’t want them to pretend that none of the bickering happened, she just wants them to move on and get back to training!

Courtney pipes up here with a side interview, saying that he’s not really too concerned about this weigh-in because if Red lose, he “knows” he has Munnalita and Pati to keep him safe, and they’ll vote out Marty. If Blue lose, then they’ll vote out Laura, which will cement the alliance he has with the Blue people. So either way, it’s great for him, it’ll get him that much closer to the final stages of the game.

Michelle asks Pati now if she feels the same way, and Pati says that about the training? Yes, she agrees.
Pati thinks Munnalita and Courtney are “nice people”, but when they talk about the game? It freaks her out a bit!
She now has an agreement with Greg and Marty to not vote for each other. But Munnalita and Courtney aren’t aware that she’s not really with them anymore!

And now another special bit – a catchup with Alex!
Still chubby… But there’s some muscles under the chub now!
Alex says the old Alex wouldn’t’ve been able to do a photoshoot before, because the photographer wouldn’t’ve had a wide enough angle lense!
He tells us it isn’t enough to talk about losing weight, you’ve got to get up and do something about it!
He’s looking good, it’s great to see his progress since the show.

Blue’s last chance training is very intense, as usual, lots of swapping between exercises to keep everything burning at once as much as possible.
They’re worried because they’ve lost three weigh-ins in a row.
Shannan pumps them up by reminding them that Red have been slacking off on their training, haven’t been getting up early in the morning like Blue to train.
Project Laura continues, Shannan wants her to post a big number so she’ll show the team that she’s contributing as best she can.
Laura almost cried a few times, but managed to hold off for once! Progress!
“As you get fitter, you can do more!” – Laura
Shannan is really impressed with Laura, as well as the other two girls. He’s squatting kind of obscenely over Mel as she does pushups though!
He’s especially proud of Damien’s progress, he’s up to 12km/h… then 15km/h on the treadmill! 190kg of man sprinting away. Kind of scary, but very impressive!
Shannan knows it hasn’t been a perfect week, but he’s confident!

Michelle doesn’t want to just work them into the ground during Red’s Last Chance, she wants to beat them into the ground! Get them to focus all their anger into the workout instead of bitching at each other.
“They’ve all got a bit of the mongrel in them!” – Michelle
Greg’s confident the bitching won’t affect the weigh-in, because as long as they’re true to themselves, that’s the important bit.
Marty’s determined that Red can win a fourth in a row.
Michelle knows that having 3 males is an advantage, but her two females are both very strong as well.
Michelle says that Red are the fittest team on the block (don’t believe you!) and Munnalita thinks they really are too. No idea where she’s pulling that idea from!

Before the weigh-in we get a bit of Mel’s video diary… where she’s looking absolutely terrible. Pasty faced, droopy eyes, scratchy voice. Poor thing. She’s got plenty of makeup on at the weigh-in again though.
Munnalita thinks that some of the Reds have been getting a bit homesick so maybe they might be in trouble this week?

And which Red will be sitting out of the weigh-in?
Courtney, because of the 2,200 odd calories, and having sat out of the basketball game, so he’s probably a bit behind on his weightloss compared to the others.
So he’s up first!
Week 5: 117.2kg – LOSS: 6.3kg
WOW! That is extremely impressive, given his weak numbers in virtually every other weigh-in, and having missed the challenge, and having made a pig of himself at Temptation? Phenomenal effort! Hate the guy, but damn, that deserves a round of applause!

Mel thinks maybe Red has made the wrong choice and Red were worried about the same thing!

Marty’s up next, hoping for 6.5-7.5kg.
Week 5: 130.1kg – LOSS: 6.7kg
Crikey! That puts him above 30kg in total.
He says it shows the hard work is paying off and it shows that if he can do it, anyone can do it!

Greg’s up next, he’s been thinking about his family a lot, wants to make them proud.
Week 5: 121.2kg – LOSS: 5.4kg
Pretty good, another good number from a regular good performer. His body shape is a lot better than it was, but he’s still got a ways to go!

12.1kg in total for Red so far.
Laura is getting concerned, because so far all the Red team’s men have done good numbers and Blue only has one guy!

Pati’s up next and she’s nervous, Marty’s confident in her ability though!
Week 5: 101.4kg – LOSS: 3.7kg
She’s happy with that! Greg says good on her, and she’s looking good!

Total now – 15.8kg… With just Show-me-the-money-lita to go!

Munnalita is extremely nervous. She goes on to say she wanted to see the number to prove to Michelle that having some of your favourite foods really doesn’t affect your weightloss. But apparently it does affect your ability to comprehend, since she still doesn’t fucking get it!
Week 5: 106.9kg – LOSS: 3.6kg
“Looks like you can have your Mars bars and eat them too!” – Munnalita
Greg points out that she’s lucky she’s in the House where they have the best environment possible for burning off those things and it’s a “temple” and she’s made a mockery of it, even continuing to try to justify it a week later. He points out that maybe if she hadn’t had those Mars bars, she might’ve lost a full 4kg instead.
Good, now say it to her face and/or vote her out. Thanks Greg!

Red’s total weightloss: 19.4kg
Percentage: 4.05%
Courtney’s convinced the Blues can’t win, because that’s 5 kilos for each of the Blues.
Nahuh, not so fast, it’s percentage based not raw weightloss!

Blue needs to have lost at least 20.1kg to avoid elimination.
D’oh! It’s a bit more than 5 kilos each!

Damien has immunity and is up first.
Week 5: 179.7kg – LOSS: 7.4kg
Very, very good! That will help the girls reach the quota.

They still need 12.7kg from the remaining 3. Doable but going to be hard.

Mel’s up next. She’s hoping for more than 3 and more than 5 would be great as it will get her under 90!
Week 5: 90.2kg – LOSS: 4.5kg
Yay! Not quite under 90kg but very close and it’s a good number, holds up her end of the team.
Ajay points out that her body is changing, look at her tummy, it’s flat! And oh my, yes it is. She actually has a figure now, not just a lump!

8.2kg remaining.

Pati is confident Jules can do 4, but Laura not so much.

Jules is up first.
Week 5: 106.9kg – LOSS: 4.5kg
Awesome! Especially when you consider she spent a while in hospital this week too!
Jules doesn’t want to leave this Earth any time soon, she wants to be healthy to be there for her kids. No tears though, just lots of positivity!

Laura is left with needing at least 3.7kg. Hooooooooo boy! The only other time she has done more than that was in her first week! As the numbers roll around, Courtney says, “Awww I can’t watch this!”
Carn Blue!
Week 5: 95.7kg – LOSS: 5.5kg
HOLY CRAP! Spanked them! She immediately runs off the scales and right over to her Blue teammates who run over to give her a huge hug!

Total 21.9kg for Blue. 4.43%
They won with one guy and three girls, versus two girls and two girls. Phenomenal effort!

Red now rue their decision to sit Courtney out. SUFFER IN YA JOCKS!
Oh boy, going to be the best elimination EVER.

Courtney’s got no idea who it might be that will be going home. Marty doesn’t know either. Pati thinks she’s in the middle and will probably have the deciding vote.

Tomorrow night is elimination night, where Courtney tells Greg that it’s not Courtney he should be worried about.
“This is the first time this has happened.” – Ajay
“How bizarre!” – Damien
Prediction? All 5 people vote for different people! Stay tuned for the bestest elimination EVER! Hopefully…
