Recap #26 – Monday 5th March – Week 4 Elimination. Blue is blue 2!

Before the intro a recap. Then the intro. Then another recap. Get to the voting please!

Who will stay and who will go? Will Ajay remember to remind the team that they need to lose more weight this week to avoid being in the elimination room again or will she forget and doom Blue to another week of DOOM-y doom?
Read on to find out!

And yes, Greg is looking a bit better than when he started the show, but he still has quite a gut on him.
“Your family will be jumping up and down at the moment!” – Ajay about Greg’s number.

Still replaying the events of last night, a good 5 minutes into the show and they finally head out of the weigh-in room.
Red is bouncing around like twats giggling and cheering.
“Don’t feel like the winning team should have to feel sad when they come out,” Munnalita goes on to say that of course they feel sorry for the Blues but they’ve done really well and so they should be allowed to feel proud of what they’ve done.

Gerard says he thought they’d all got good numbers this week and Damien thought they really had it this week. “I just feel like shit!” – Damien

So let the lobbying begin!
Gerard and Laura sit down and both have a giggle about how they’re both going to be voting for each other. They both say that it’s down to the other three.
They further agree that it’s not an alliance between the three, it’s just a close friendship.
“If my journey is over, it’s over.” – Laura
Gerard says that his journey is only just starting, it’s when he gets home that it’s going to be really hard.

Mel really likes Laura, but she’s got to protect the other two.
Damien’s a bit reluctant to eliminate Gerard because they need his strength, but can he really keep up the effort for another week? And is his attitude and general depression good for the team?
Mel sits Gerard down and says that they need to make an agreement to really push it for another week.
Gerard says if it’s his time to go, that’s okay, he’s not going to be a sook about it, etc.

Jules takes Laura aside for a chat, telling her they don’t want to send her home, they really don’t, but it might be her.
“I’m not going to make you feel bad for voting for me…” – Laura
So it’ll be no tears and dirty looks all round? We’ll see!

At least a tie is unlikely, that’s about the only good point!

Mel is looking damn fine heading into elimination. She’s really gone from being fat to just a bit chubby already.

Ajay reminds them all as they sit down that each week they’ve faced elimination they’ve gotten rid of one of their biggest losers every time!
She asks Laura if she feels there’s alliances, she points out, again, that it’s just a friendship between them.
Jules replies to another alliance question from Ajay, saying her and Damien, part of the supposed alliance, voted different ways last week.
Gerard says he’s feeling vulnerable and maybe the Blue team has voted stupidly in the past, but he’d never vote for Jules or Damien. Jules needs to be there and Damien really needs to be there so he’ll live to 70 or 80, rather than Gerard having to go to Damien’s funeral when he’s only 45 or 50.
Damien says that maybe they’re not big schemers and backstabbers, but the team just isn’t like that.

Laura’s vote is going to Gerard, saying she doesn’t think he doesn’t put in enough effort.

Gerard: 1 (Laura)

Mel votes with her heart as well, and says that this person is depressed and negative towards themself and they really don’t need to be. Gerard gets another vote!

Gerard: 2 (Laura, Mel)

Jules is worried about how her person might fare in the house for another week, but she understand where he’s coming from. She also votes for Gerard, making 3 votes, so he’s out!

Gerard actually takes it pretty well, saying he understands why he’s been voted out because even though he was the biggest loser this week, he dropped a lame number last week.
And he’s missing his kids terribly, they’re all currently living in different houses and it’s hard on them.
Laura says that he’s inspiring and she hopes her own Dad will take him as inspiration as well.
Jules has a lot of respect for Gerard and his personality. And Gerard says that he thought his life was tough being a single parent raising teenagers, but then he looks at everything Jules has gone through and thinks that his life is actually pretty good! He’s really impressed with how she’s changed in the house and he’s sure she’s going to turn into a stunner and have heaps of guys chasing her, even if that’s not what she wants just yet. He just wants her to be happy and have a fulfilled life. Awww!
Mel says that he’s a fantastic guy and he needs to have more faith in himself! Everyone around him sees how strong he is and they all have faith in him.

Damien says they’re going to have to train as hard as possible, eat well and hopefully not be back in the elimination room next week.
But as he points out, it’s now one against three. Not him against his other Blues, him against the three men on Red, and that’s a bit intimidating.

Gerard closes with, “Stay strong, don’t change the way you guys have been playing the game. Might not always be the smartest way to play it but you’ve kept your integrity and respect and I think that’s the most important thing. These are a great bunch of people to train with and they’ve really helped me. Damien, by far, has inspired me more than anyone else to try harder and to lift my game. Damo, you’ve set the world on fire. A lot of people 200+ can’t even get out of bed and you’re going to inspire a lot of people who’re near death to turn their lives around. I think you’ve got an awesome burden on your shoulder, make sure you don’t stop!”

“Mel, cuddles?” Where’s mine?!
“Every time I go to struggle to stop, I’ll think of you and go that little bit more. Thanks, Damo!” – Gerard

Ajay reminds them yet again that they’ve eliminated their biggest loser, again, and to not come back to elimination, again, etc.

Pati says that Damien is looking shattered.
Mel says that like every week they’re going to have regroup again and try to beat them again.

Shannan arrives and immediately notices the reduction in his team. “What happened, we lost? And Gerard’s gone?”
They go around revealing their numbers. Shannan is really impressed with Damien’s number, saying it’s phenomenal.
Laura’s lost a low amount each week and Shannan says she’s lucky because Blue has voted with their hearts, not their heads.
“What about Gerard, a bad number?” No, not really.
Shannan is a bit baffled, saying they need to start having a strategy to be winners, or he’s going to be there with no one to train!
He says that now it’s massive pressure on Laura, because they need her to help them get over the line at the weigh-in. Laura… cries!

Michelle arrives to see all her Red team there and dispenses crash tackle hugs all round, then sort of lounges around on Munnalita and Courtney. Wasted!
She goes through the numbers, even saying Courtney’s number is “perfect”. She’s really happy with Pati’s loss, since it made her the biggest female loser this week.
“Drum roll please Marty? 5.7!” Michelle is stoked and gives him another tacklehug!
“You guys rock!” – Michelle

Shannan says that today everyone on the Blue team is going to have to earn their place on the team, it’s time to kick some Blue team butt!
So he takes them off to the beach for some beach exercising. Lots of crunches and pushups and then waxing up the board vigorously as another exercise. Then they took the board and paddled out and around a dude floating out on the water. And Laura totally kicks everyone’s ass, paddling almost back before some of them got out to the guy!
Shannan doesn’t want any loose links in the Blue team chain, so he has them all hanging onto a buoy with line attached to get them all to do exercises together.
He’s really happy with Laura as she’s started to talk during training to the rest of the team, which is a good sign apparently.

After the main training session Shannan takes them off for some proper surfing in the ocean. Apparently it’s really windy and there’s a lot of chop out on the ocean. “Blue team got bashed!” Shannan chuckles.
Laura has a go at standing up but doesn’t really get the hang of it. But she says she felt like a kid again, having no fear!

Gerard arrives home to a party, with all his kids there and they all get big hugs.
2 months on. And he’s sprinting and doing bench presses and punching bags and mitts like a pro!
Him and his son go for bike rides now once a week. And his kids love the new diet, surprisingly, and they’re all feeling better for it. His daughter (who is quite the cutie) says her Dad cooks them chicken and fish and salads and such, which is “really good!”
He doesn’t fit into any of his old clothes anymore. One is pretty much a tent!
Like a lot of eliminated Fatties, he’s looking much less fat around the face. He even goes surfing with his two sons now, whereas before he reckons he would’ve drowned if he’s tried!

Since leaving the show Gerard has lost a total of 33.8kg, going from a 5XL to a regular XL, with hopes of fitting into an M by the finale!

Tomorrow night on The Biggest Loser, disaster strikes as Laura is “out”, apparently busting up her knee while running across the lawn during training. Presumably not out of the house but definitely going to find it hard to train with a bung knee!
There’s also a repeat of the teasers of Temptation, Commando Steve and Munnalita’s drama queen routine that we saw last night.

This week’s “Who should be next to leave?” poll:
Sorry, there are no polls available at the moment.
