Recap #24 – Friday 2nd March – Major Challenge Night – Changing Rooms, TBL Style!
Tonight? “Heads are going to roll!” – Michelle
Friday is Major Challenge night – what’s in store for the fatties this week? Read on to find out!
(Update: The missing minute at the end is now recapped. Thanks to Barbara and Louise for filling in in the comments section in the meantime! )
Michelle arrived at 5:55am because she’d asked her team to be up at 6am for a workout. When she arrives the lights are off, nobody is in the gym, no one is even awake! Thus, “Heads are going to roll!”
After opening the curtains in their rooms (including the room Damien is in, huh?) and poking and prodding them to get up and get moving (“I’m not a child!” – Mel) they finally head out onto the drive with Michelle holding the door open for them. As Courtney waddles past he tells her that a Blue team member has been eliminated. And that Munnalita had chosen P’eta.
Michelle is really upset by this and comforts Munnalita for a bit before getting on with things.
“If you want to get angry, if you want to get mad, then take it out on your training, don’t take it out on me, because I’m here for a reason!” – Michelle, who goes on to say that it’s a bloody good reason to train even harder so they’re not next to go.
Lots of laps today, lots of running around and pushups and shoulder barges on pads being held by others.
Michelle can tell that Munnalita isn’t giving it her all. She takes her aside and it becomes apparent that it’s not just the elimination that’s upsetting her.
Munnalita reveals that later last night she went to the fridge and got two (diet) chocolate mousses from the fridge. She didn’t even stop at one, she went straight for two. She didn’t really want them at all, but she went for them anyway. Classic emotional eater! Michelle lets her know that she’s not at all alone in that.
“I put so much weight on and now I have to go through all this stuff to have children.” No, Munnalita, you need to go through all this stuff OR YOU WILL DIE. If you keep making it about having children then as soon as your IVF fails again you’ll be right back to gorging yourself and be too fat to have further treatment, AGAIN! Arg!
“I just want to eat all the time, I hate it, I’m sick of it, I’m sick of feeling like shit, and when I eat it’s the only thing that makes me feel good and I forget about all that, just for that time while I’m eating. I’ve been unhappy for so long!” – Munnalita
“Instead of going to the fridge last night, what do you think you could have done?” – Michelle
“Probably should’ve went for a walk?” – Munnalita
“\o/” – Michelle
Michelle goes on to ask her what she think she’d look like if she went for a walk every time instead and Munnalita says she’d look like Michelle!
Michelle tells her to shake her hand to promise that she’d do that from now on. Michelle holds her hand out for a long time. “There was a moment there when I thought she wasn’t going to shake my hand…”
In Michelle’s little side interview, she starts to tear up a little herself.
“Phew, it’s been a big morning. And it’s only twenty past seven!” – Michelle
Shannan arrives much later than Michelle. He’s “gutted and horrified” to find P’eta has gone missing.
“Oh no. No, no, no.” – Shannan
He’s pretty pissed that Blue has now pretty much lost 3 people through no fault of their own, just the game.
Damien puts it in another way that with all Jules has gone through, losing a contestant is pretty small in comparison.
Shannan says that they all have to draw strength from Jules’ determination now.
As they’re heading out to start some training on the lawn, Shannan looks back to check no one has left anything behind (how good a bloke is he? Jebus!) and sees “that bloody rock” still on the table. So he grabs it up, wanders out to the kitchen and chucks it in the bin in disgust. “And it felt good, too!”
Training for Blue today is to shift weights from one end of the lawn to the other. Fun!
Shannan says it’s going to put them in good stead for the challenge tomorrow, so I think he knows what they’re in for!
The major challenge tonight is to remove all the furniture and contents from one house and into another house, as fast as you can.
Once they’ve done all that, they will get a key to one of two large trucks parked behind them, which contains one last item which must go in their house. Assume it’s probably big, as they’re big trucks!
The team that is first to do so, will win.
The prize? The team that wins will get to decide which Red team member will be swapped to Blue to even out the teams again.
Damien is quite happy, saying that Mel was a Blue team member, so this is something they’ve got to win!
Gerard is worried that if Red win, they’ll inflict Munnalita on the Blue team. I’d’ve thought Marty was a more likely choice, personally.
There is also an extra prize for every member of each team, but it wasn’t said what the extra prize.
To even out the team for the challenge, Red team will be allowed to pick one of their own to sit out and Blue will be able to choose another to sit out.
Blue chooses first, picking Greg as expected.
Red chooses Munnalita to sit out. Mel says they’re all carrying injuries at the moment so it wasn’t easy to choose.
Ready, set, go!
The house is full of stuff! But it’s all shrink-wrapped and such so it shouldn’t be too bad.
Courtney sets out the Red’s strategy of clearing out the hallways first, then Courtney and Marty would start moving out the heavy stuff with the girls moving what they could.
Everyone’s finding it really hard and none of them was really looking forward to it.
Blue is being sneaky by putting their stuff together right at the end of the driveway which meant Red had to move around the Blue’s pile.
Red finishes first and start moving their stuff into Blue’s house. Blue is a bit behind, but working hard to try and keep up.
Marty’s getting stressed, Blue is struggling a lot with a really heavy dining table.
Red starts to unwrap their stuff, Courtney’s getting pretty stressed about it not coming off.
Munnalita is standing out on the road and sees that both piles of house stuff are about equal, so she’s worried that Blue might actually catch up!
Red gets the thumbs up from their removalist judge guy and heads out to get their last item… Which is a lame Red rug!
Gerard is unwrapping a vacuum cleaner, “Shit, I need a new vacuum cleaner too!”
Red’s removalist guy gives them the second thumbs up, which means they won the major challenge.
Courtney is impressed that they’ve won, they’re winning a lot and there’s only the weigh-in left to win now!
Ajay meets them back out on the road, with all of them sheltering under umbrellas as it’s raining. In Sydney? Surely not!
She tells them that their individual prizes are actually LG branded products they’d just moved into the house. And it’s first in first served! Go!
Courtney sprints inside to claim the TV… Greg claims… the vacuum cleaner? Pati gets a DVD player.
Ajay says it’s now time for Red to decide who they’re going to send to Blue.
Gerard half-whispers at Ajay, “We want Mel!”
And for once, Red are actually behaving like human beings and are all agreeing that it would be best to send Mel back over, because for anyone else, it’s a death sentence. Even Mel agrees that it would be best!
Red are all grinning as Ajay asks who they’ve decided. “And that person is… Mel!”
Cue cheers from Blue team, and me!
Mel gets changed right in the middle of the street. She has a red sports bra!
“It’s so good to have you back girl!” – Gerard
Courtney’s chattering away about how it’s a good thing for him, because now their alliance holds the power in the Red team.
Next time on The Biggest Loser, Blue is unified once again, and doing lots of strong asskicking in training. Lots of shots of people looking happy on the scales (yay!) but also a shot of Gerard looking unhappy at someone’s result. Hopefully Blue aren’t going to lose but I think Gerard’s probably a goner if they do!
And cue my recording cutting out due to the show apparently running well overtime? I’ll see what I can do about updating this post with anything that may have happened after that point later tonight. If anyone else could post in the comments if there was anything important, that would also be great! Recap is now complete!
