Recap #21 – Tuesday 27th Feb. – Minor Challenge, Major Misunderstanding?
First up, let me direct your attention to this article on The Daily Telegraph website, where Michael says he’s not looking for love anymore and is concentrating on his weightloss. O RLY?
But back to the people who weren’t kicked off the show, Minor Challenge night once more. Will anyone get bonked on the head by novelty exercise equipment?
Read on to find out!
The minor challenge this week is “at a corral sort of thing. Like where horses go.” Thanks, Courtney!
One contestant from each team must enter the ring, then avoid the rotating arms as they go around. The speed will increase every 5 minutes.
The first contestant to outlast 5 opponents wins for their team.
The winners have a choice between a peaceful visit to a temple… or The Commando! In an even more intense visit than before!
Red is all saying they’re going to pike out and go the temple. Damien says the Blue team will be going for it because Red had him last week and won by 200g!
The winning team will also receive… a mystery DVD!
“Of house activities.” Apparently there’s a security camera in the motion sensor in the kitchen, for one.
Munnalita is stressing because she’s apparently been up to a lot of things around the house. Surprise!
First a mini-challenge to decide who gets to decide which Red team member will sit out to even up the teams.
The mini challenge is over two chest high hurdles, pick up a flag, then back over the hurdles and back to the start/finish line.
Red chooses Jules from Blue to do the mini challenge, Blue chooses Munnalita from Red.
Munnalita tells us she’s not a sprinter (really?) but she felt like if she could get to the hurdles before Jules then she’d be able to win.
Jules is a hurdle leaping machine though! Munnalita gets totally spanked, waddling in a good 10 seconds later. Ha!
So Blue chooses to have Greg sit out of the challenge, as expected.
Laura and Mel as the lightest contestants face off first.
Laura is adamant that she doesn’t want to go back to the commando so she really badly wants to win… I don’t know if she realises everyone else on her team wants him!
After a short while hopping and ducking… Mel doesn’t duck low enough once and gets bonked on the noggin!
Pati is next to challenge Laura. And bumps her head about 10 seconds in!
Munnalita’s up next… and gets owned by Laura as well!
Courtney is up next. After a short while, the pig throws sand up behind him at Laura. Disgraceful.
Short while later and Courtney clips the low pole!
4-0 to Laura, Blue has almost won with their first contestant!
Marty steps up, and Laura has been going at it for about an hour by now. She said her skin was starting to sizzle. She’s not even wearing a hat so it’s no wonder!
Marty’s feeling the pressure but Laura’s not backing down because she reeeeally doesn’t want to go to the commando!
She finally clips the low pole. And is crushed, breaking into tears a little, as usual, saying sorry to Damien and he said she’s got nothing to be sorry about, Red gave her to Blue because they thought she was weak, and she just took them on and beat 4 of them. They’re PROUD of her effort. That cheered her up a bit!
Marty’s turn to try and win 5 straight now. He defeats Jules fairly easy and Gerard follows soon after.
Pati says that everyone was starting to get a bit pissed off at this stage because they’d been out in the sun so long.
“I didn’t think you’d last that long to tell you the truth, Gerard.” – Greg
“Ohhh shut up Greg!”
And it degenerates from there, with Greg saying he was being honest, and Gerard saying he was being sarcastic, and Greg asking if Gerard thought he was shit, and Gerard loses it, asking Greg “What’d you call me?” Which leads to Gerard getting in Greg’s face and Greg shoving him away.
The girls get in between them and split them up. And something gets bleeped out.
Afterwards Gerard finally accepts Greg’s apology and says he thought he was being sarcastic and Greg said nah, they hug and it’s all good!
Damien is the 5th challenger for Marty. Damien clips the low pole early on but not hard enough to count.
Then Marty doesn’t stay ducked long enough and bumps his noggin!
Damien’s turn to try and win it for Blue!
Mel is the next challenger and she stays down low the whole time this time. Defeating Damien fairly easily. Then Laura, Jules followed shortly afterwards. Then Gerard as well!
P’eta is the last line of defense for Blue.
P’eta clips the low pole again and it took them a couple of seconds to realise the game was finally over.
Then Mel gets lifted up by people!
Mel tells Ajay that they’ll have the few moments of peace at the temple, okay? Okay!
So now Blue has to go off with the Commando!
Commando Steve notices that one of the girls is crying before they even start… And it’s Laura, who’d got him once as Red, now she’s got him as Blue!
Laura eventually gets fired up about “her injury” and not being able to carry a sandbag in the river and rah rah rah. At least she’s standing up for herself now, even if she’s crying while doing it!
Meanwhile Red are off at the… something or other temple. I don’t know how to spell it!
Anyway, their first bit of relaxation is some meditation! Great way to lose weight there…
Marty is generally a bit skeptical of meditation but he found it very relaxing.
A thunderstorm rolls in as they’re meditating, which Mel really likes, because she loves storms.
Marty says he wasn’t thinking about Blues during the meditation. But afterwards, looking at the storm? Yes, yes he was. And he laughs!
Commando Steve has them doing exercises in the river again, this time dunking themselves under with a sandbag in their arms.
Jules is backchatting to Commando all the way. He said it was really “bugging” him, but he said it with a grin on his face, so I don’t think he was too upset.
One of the things she did was to tell him to get his hand off her because she doesn’t know him. Then later when they were doing situps on the riverbank and she couldn’t do them like everyone else, she said that none of them have had three kids!
And that wraps it up for tonight!
Tomorrow night is Temptation night once more and it does look to be a Sushi/Japanese restaurant. Wasabiiiiiiiii?
There will also be a DVD viewing session, revealing some of the food theft going on. Apparently Munnalita has been doing it a lot but Greg has taken something as well, though he doesn’t think of it as theft? Hmmmm.
